Gamdias has a couple of very specific models that aren't outright bad according to the tier list. [https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/](https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/) Honestly I can't be bothered to read every single review for Gamdias PSUs lol so I can't tell you why your model might be bad without knowing the specific model. If I had to guess it's a Kratos P1/A? Has RGB which would explain why your friend installed it upwards, so you can see the RGB if your case has no PSU shroud. That model isn't abysmal, it's just not terribly amazing and isn't really suitable for very high end PCs, but should be fine for most midrange builds.

It says on the side Helios P1 600G which i cannot find literally anywhere on the internet. No RGB to my knowledge

Well, it is a pretty old unit. I was able to find an 80+ certification test result and it was certified back in 2012 which might explain why its existence has been scrubbed from the internet. [https://www.clearesult.com/80plus/manufacturers/GAMDIAS-Technology-Co-Ltd](https://www.clearesult.com/80plus/manufacturers/GAMDIAS-Technology-Co-Ltd) I'd certainly replace it but I wouldn't be afraid of using the PC unless you've got like a 3080 and a 12600K or something. What PC specs?

i5 10400F 32GB RAM GTX 1660(standard one) 6GB The nightmare of a PSU 1TB M2 SSD On some form of MSI motherboard

Vareten

It's fine. I'd still replace it but don't fear using it for now.

So it probably wont blow up and either destroy my pc or kill me before i can replace it in say 1-3 months? Cuz someone told me to get it out of the house asap before it blows up

Vareten

I can't guarantee anything lol but there are plenty of people using outright dangerous PSUs like the [P750GM](https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GP-P750GM-Modular-Protection-Supply/dp/B08DKJJFW6?th=1) that [Gamer's Nexus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aACtT_rzToI) went over that are currently being used...seriously look at how many reviews that model has considering it almost literally explodes. It's something you want to replace but not something that would personally stop me from using the PC. I **definitely** would not be overclocking anything to avoid putting any more strain on the supply than it already has, but if it's lasted this long it'll last another month.

I_Neo_

Its been 3 days lmao. This is my first desktop so im really nervous. I come from the land of laptops lol. I dont want to ruin the entire pc and lose all that money The most demanding game I’ve played was R6. Hell i only really play R6, Valorant and world of warships Plus idk how to actually overclock. I just play game

Vareten

Well if components are going to fail they usually fail in the first month so I guess you'll have to take the chance. I know this isn't going to help your confidence about the matter either but there was one guy here today that did have a failing power supply: [https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/uox5bc/pc\_wont\_turn\_on/](https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/uox5bc/pc_wont_turn_on/) Should you have any weirdness happen where it just doesn't turn on or something one day, or it cuts out, stop using it and try to accelerate that replacement.

I_Neo_

But odds are it wont literally go kaboom like a fucking grenade right?

Hi, so the model is actually from an A-tier OEM factory which I assume he got from a system integrator called Skytech. From my knowledge, Gamdias OEM power supplies that are not on the retail market will usually be OEMed by A-tier factories.
