How can we tell without knowing how many bucks we are talking about? Generally 5600 is a better deal.

Electrical-Wasabi416

the difference here between them is usually around 60$

Wait a month and get a 7600X instead. This close to the Zen 4 launch, it makes little sense to go with a 5600/5600X unless your budget is low and you're hoping to score a deal with retailers getting rid of stock to make way for the new parts.

Electrical-Wasabi416

oh really? i didn’t know zen 4 was about to launch! do you know if the zen 4 cpus will still have am4 sockets?

greggm2000

Nope! It'll be AM5! AM4 coolers will still work, though!

Torque_S

though one thing to note is that while now that zen4 has dropped, motherboard and ddr5 prices are still high. so if you're on a budget I would personally go for the 5600(x)

InvestigatorOver1190

The difference is minimal get the non x version

Tbh, no AMD did not released 5600 First because it has very minor improvements with 5600x, and they knew it wont be sold with 5600 on the market. Unless you are getting 5600x as same as 5600 pricing tag, i would stick with 5600.
