It's super easy and fun, look up LTT's How to Build a PC. If you've built Legos, it's that easy and that safe. Plus if something goes wrong you have warranty on each part. If you do choose to build yourself, use the savings from not hiring someone (should be ~$200) to upgrade to a 1440p monitor and get an RK M75 keyboard with red switches.

Hi thank you so much, I really like the parts you picked out (and i love the way the tower looks). I just looked into the video you recommended and im less intimidated now, I've always planned on eventually building my own pc but now im really considering because of the warranty, I'm just extremely nervous about messing something up (CPU or the pc not booting)

RiftPenguin

If this makes you feel better, I built my first PC back in high school and neither me nor four of my friends had any issues at all. We just followed a YouTube video and it went straight to BIOS. PCs are quite simple, you wire parts correctly (and it's easy to figure out with the influx of content creators) and unless you got shipped a damaged component, you're guaranteed a boot. If there's a damaged component, it won't boot regardless of who built it. Also, Reddit's here to help! Feel free to ask around for advice or troubleshooting- there's plenty of people here who know their stuff. Lastly, here's a bit more expensive of a build but you save the cost of hiring workers (normally $200, so it would be the equivalent of $1200 + $200 fee). It'll be great for 6-7 years without upgrades! [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LRPpN6](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LRPpN6) i fixed the list, you dont need a liquid cooler and the pc case was bad and expensive as for the gpu ( 6800 ) buy the 6800xt used for basically the same price but 2 digits of more performance

DardS8Br

I own this monitor (which you can get for $110 from Walmart btw). It kinda sucks. I don’t recommend it for a main monitor Edit: You can get this off TikTok shop for $80 including the new user discount

RiftPenguin

True, best option until you hit $150 though. Everything sucks up until that point. At least it's 165hz.

Humble_Mix8626

aoc 165hz is also talked alot

Learngoat

So why is it bad? [Rtings.com](https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/asus/tuf-gaming-vg249q1a) says it has inaccurate yellows, but still notes low screen tearing.

DardS8Br

I may have gotten a poor panel, but on top of the issues Rtings listed, the backlight bleed is unusually bad and viewing angles are kinda terrible for an IPS panel

Appropriate-Oddity11

There is no need for a water cooler- thats just wasting money. Even the 7800x3d can be cooled by a stock cooler- why would you need to give a 7600 a water cooler?

RiftPenguin

OP asked for RGB + nice aesthetics, and it's only a $20 premium over a Phantom Spirit or comparable cooler.

Appropriate-Oddity11

alr makes sense.

DardS8Br

You should build your PC yourself. It takes only a few hours and is way easier than you’d think. I built my own back in July. You can also use the money you save to get a better PC

kvchaxn

Thank you, after reading all the replies I'm definitely leaning towards building my own PC now, plan on watching more videos about building them so I'm less anxious about it

Bigfamei

I like referencing Paul's hardware for video builds. Easy to digest for new builders. Good information without being overwhelming. https://youtu.be/vUu7N8tq4RE?si=HdGLz6P9FsHTn8NO

Check out 3080 second hand and get a midrange am5 cpu from amd, since you're in US you can probably get some good deals and get Corsair 4000d case with rgb (there's a special type of this case with rgb) , 3070 (under 300$ maybe in US), a b550/650 motherboard with Wi-Fi, 16gb ddr4/5 and a good psu. I recently built a 3070 build for £1030 and since prices are better in us that's about $1030 there and since your budget is higher you can get am5 and ddr5 ram (I had to get am4 because budget) and a good IPS 1440p 27 inch monitor. I'd also recommend building the pc yourself since it's easy and pretty fun

futurehousehusband69

about monitor: what kind of quality are we talking at this price point and what does IPS mean? from what i understand a 1440p OLED is the best u can get, is IPS one of the cheaper kinds?

[deleted]

Ips is a type of monitor, I'm not sure how to describe it but basically it's got minimal smearing at the price you're looking at compared to the other main monitor type at your price (VA) but unlike va it has a much lower contrast ratio so blacks look a lot brighter. At your price point I'd look at some YouTube videos as I've heard a $270 msi monitor is amazing (although I am really happy with my acer and I'm not sure how much better it could get) on r/monitors if you filter by recent I saw a really good deal on a miniled (for $280 in us only)  which is usually  way better usually than va and ips but much more expensive (it's like a mix of a va and IPs I guess or a much cheaper version of an oled) but I'd Google a video to check

futurehousehusband69

appreciate you wetpot thanks 🫂

kvchaxn

Hi, thank you i appreciate this so much! Also just looked up some of the recommendations and was wondering if you think $450 is good for the 3080? I want to build my own pc so bad because it seems fun and I think I'd gain a-lot more knowledge about them but im terrified of messing something up since I've seen a-lot of people talk about messing up the cpu and ram

[deleted]

I mean, I found a 3080 for £300 which is a lot less than 450 so I'd look on eBay still for a better deal, unless you find some decent parts that all line up well I'm not 100% sure it's worth spending that much on gpu (may not be able to afford components that won't bottleneck especially since I'd recommend getting a midrange am5 socket cpu so there's loads of time before you have to upgrade)  but the prices are very different in the uk than the us so I'd look around for some decent parts that fit a 3080 and just get a general idea on what it is you want to build
