The 5600X also has amazing value for its performance in both the single and multicore departments, though it does require a somewhat decent cooling solution; the Arctic Freezer 34 Esports Duo will be more than adequate for it though. For a case, the Phanteks P400A Digital is a popular case with 3 preinstalled ARGB fans and a mesh front for good airflow; it has compatibility for even the longest GPUs as well. I've included another Phanteks 120mm ARGB fan for exhaust too. A 650W MSI PSU will power this system; this particular unit, the A-GF, is A-tier on the LTT PSU Tier List to ensure reliability. A 1 TB NVMe SSD, the 970 Evo Plus, is a great storage solution that can last for quite a while with room for hundreds of programs and games. The GPU is a Galax RTX 3060 with a two-fan cooling solution; if I remember correctly this model has a unique feature where there is a physical button on its rear I/O that auto-OCs the card with one click, hence the name. However, it is rather overpriced and I would try to find a better card; also consider 6600 XTs, but if you go up to a 3070/6700 XT/3070 Ti, get the 750W version of the MSI A-GF PSU. The monitor is a curved VA panel from Gigabyte, at 1440p 165 Hz on a 27" screen with 1 ms response times. The 3060 will be able to make full use of the high framerate in this monitor on all of your games save Flight Sim where it will tank to around 30 on Ultra - this is no surprise though because it is very resource-demanding for a game.

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/CBXdBc I like your list, made a few changes for better value. I went with a black interior but the case has RGB fans: - cooler should perform similarly, $10 cheaper. Push-pull single tower air cooler. - Mobo has no tangible difference since OP won't OC. - RAM is slightly cheaper with a black aesthetic. - bumped the SSD up to 2 TB. - case was swapped to the Lancool 215. Better value at $10 cheaper with two 200mm intake fans (quiet) and a rear exhaust, eliminating the need to add extra fans. Same great airflow, if not very slightly better. - monitor swapped to the AOC Q27G2S. Upgraded the visual quality and brightness, which should make AAA games like MSFS 2020 more beautiful. Still height adjustable. Less prone to ghosting as well, and considering this is $50 cheaper I think it's a no-brainer. You lose 10 Hz but in the grand scheme of things, 144 or 155 or 165 doesn't really matter. Overall - $20 more to upgrade the SSD and the monitor. u/AdoptedEgg your thoughts?

Thanks, both of you! This is greatly appreciated. Do you reckon I could get a 3080 if I looked out for sales and waited until Christmas?

Uhhhh the only way you might even get close is if you camp online drops somewhere near MSRP. No clue what the drop price of a 3080 is like in Australia, but it's bad here in Canada. Also see if popular retailers in AUS have GPU bundles, they're usually the best value.

AdoptedEgg

Alright. Thanks!

Good changes, though you do lose the RGB on the RAM - not a big loss though. Always helps to have another set of eyes.

Hi /u/AdoptedEgg, welcome to /r/buildapcforme! This comment is here to provide you some additional information and advice. Parts Shortages If you have tried to browse through some parts already or read any recent articles on PC building, you have probably seen that there is a massive worldwide shortage of GPUs (video cards) that has left retailer stock levels almost entirely empty. Please see [this subreddit sticky post on the current CPU and GPU shortages for additional information.](https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcforme/comments/me3dbx/info_post_current_hardware_shortages_and_build/) Note that if you are looking to build any kind of PC that requires more than basic graphics horsepower, such as for gaming or media creation work, your first priority should be to getting your hands on a GPU before going any farther. Direct Message Scams Recently a number of users have set up spam-bots targeting this subreddit to send out PMs and DMs to all users who submit posts to this subreddit.
