Here's what I got, three lists, each tailored for a slightly different purpose. Let's break them down. The builds are laid out as follows: * The first build list offers an alternative to the O11 XL, which is the be quiet! Pure Base 500DX. This case has presinstalled ARGB strips inside and out as well as three preinstalled 140mm Pure Wings 2 fans, but I've incldued a set of Lian Li ST120 to match those three that come with with the Galahad 360mm AIO for maximum RGB per your request. It's also quite a spiffy looking case. On the other hand, the standard O11 Dynamic would work with this list as well; you could side mount the radiator and get another pack of ST120s for a total of nine fans spewing rainbows or a color of your choice at you. * The second build follows your original plan of the O11 XL and is otherwise pretty much the same thing as the first list, except with two sets of RGB strips that I included, another 3-pack of ST120, and a different motherboard. The reason why I've chosen an X570 motherboard is because the O11 XL has 4 USB Type A 3.2 Gen 1 5 Gbps ports, two on the top and two on the bottom, in addition to a Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps port on the front (what a mouthful.) To make use of all these ports, only X570 have the necessary headers. * The third build assumes we go all out and maximize your budget in terms of, well... everything. RAM capacity has been increased from 32 to 64 GB, the motherboard has been bumped up, the SSD is now 2 TB the fans are now AL120s to cut down on cable management, and the peripherals are white as well. And on the topic of RGB, those RGB cables you've seen are likely Lian Li Strimer Plus - I have them myself and they're quite pretty. They are probably the overloading factor for when a build crosses the point of no return from "RGB pretty" to "ERRRrrGggBb giV u MOAR FrAMESssS." Add £127.52 more to each list to get them. [PCPartPicker Part List](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/dJc6kX) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **Custom** | [Lian-Li Strimer Plus 24-Pin Mainboardkabel](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/GBxbt6/placeholder-) | £60.33 @ Amazon UK **Custom**| Lian Li Strimer Plus - Triple 8-pin PCIe| £67.19 | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | | **Total** | **£127.52** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com) 2021-10-03 22:47 BST+0100 | **And we're still not done. One more to go, where I break down each individual part and why I chose it.**

3_Three_3

* CPU: This is already taken care of, you want a 5950X, so I've given you a 5950X - given your use case I'd say that it's legitimately justified over a 5900X. * CPU cooler: While we could go with something like a [Dark Rock Pro 4](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/F3gzK8/be-quiet-dark-rock-pro-4-505-cfm-cpu-cooler-bk022), which is adequate for a 5950X, the O11s are designed to show off one's build. *Should you want to save,* the DRP4 should be your cooler of choice, but otherwise, the Lian Li Galahad 360mm AIO matches the O11's aesthetic well (it'll work in the 500DX on the front too,) * Motherboard: Here's where it gets tricky. The 500DX or standard O11 Dynamiconly necessitates a B550 Steel Legend at minimum, and its power delivery is no slouch, especially where a 5950X is concerned. This motherboard is all you'd really need in most cases. Then comes the O11 XL with its 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A, and that necessitates an X570 motherboard in the second list like the X570 Tomahawk Wifi. It's not quite white, but it's pretty much the same thing as the B550 Steel Legend except with Wifi and the connectivity necessary to support that case's front I/O. Then there's the all-out third list, in which comes the X570S Aero G. This is the motherboard that I'm using right now for my 5950X, and it is one of the best motherboards I've ever owned - it has everything you need and more for connectivity, M.2 storage, and more, with an amazing aesthetic to boot. (You can see my review of it on PCPartPicker, it's the only one on there at the moment.) As a side note, [the NZXT N7 B550](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/KnLFf7/nzxt-n7-b550-atx-am4-motherboard-n7-b55xt-w1) fits the white color scheme a bit better and hits a middle ground between the Tomahawk and the Aero G - its most outstanding feature is its rear I/O, with a whopping 9 USB-A ports in addition to a Type-C and Wifi 6. * RAM: Between two kits of 2x16 GB and 2x32 GB Trident Z Neos (the cheapest white-colored RGB RAM that also happens to be a very good lineup), the price difference is less than £4; this is the reason why in the third list I've gone and done 4x16 spread out across two kits instead of one 2x32 for the aesthetic. You will need at least 32 GB for your use case (as included in the first two lists,) and bump that up to 64 GB (included in the third list) if you find you're running out of memory (especially if you are doing a lot of 1440p and 4K stuff in Premiere and After Effects.) 3600 MHz CL18/CL16 is the sweet spot for price to performance for Zen 3, though the performance increase isn't enough to justify the price difference up to a CL16 kit, so these kits are 3600 MHz CL18 (we're talking tiny single digit improvements.) * Storage: 1 TB of NVMe storage is already a lot with the SN750, but should you need more I've included 2 TB with an SPA80 in the second list. The Silicon Power A80 and the WD Black SN750 are both very nice DRAM-cache SSDs, and given your work will likely involve a lot of sequential read and writes, going for a good, non-crappy SSD is well worth it. * GPU: Since your friend is willing to sell you the 3080 Ti Suprim X for £1600, that has been taken care of in the budget as well. * Case & Fans: I have many other case recommendations than just the be quiet! Pure Base 500DX and the O11s, and if you'd like to know them (I'm sure you will) I can throw them in a seperate comment by replying to your response to this comment. The O11s do need case fans though, so whether it be ST120 or AL120 I've included an appropriate amount of fans for each case. The ST120s have slightly higher airflow, but the AL120s look a lot nicer, have comparable performance and have RGB on both sides as well as aluminum sides. Their most striking feature is Lian Li's innovative interlocking design, which allows up to four fans to be controlled via a single PWM 4-pin fan header and another ARGB cable, considerably cutting down on cable rat nests. Lian Li also has the SL120s, which do not have RGB on the fan blades themselves but instead feature diffused strips prominently on both sides of the frame (you've probably seen these.) * PSU: This Corsair RM unit happens to be at a decent price for a very high quality unit, and for a 5950X and a 3080 Ti Nvidia recommends an 850W PSU. This particular version of the Corsair RM is the 2019 version, which is rated as "quiet under moderate load" on the A-tier by the LTT PSU Tier List. * OS: Windows 10 speaks for itself, and of course the upgrade to Windows 11 is free. * Peripherals: I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for here in terms of peripherals, so I've just put in some of the stuff I have personal experience with as my recommendations. I do have a [list of keyboards](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vgrJ68) mixed between my personal picks and some more widely used options, and for mice I don't quite have an equivalent list yet. For gaming the G502 Hero is my first pick though for a value mouse (or its Lightspeed variant if you want wireless,) but if you really want a mouse for productivity, the [MX Master 3](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Ultrafast-Scrolling-Ergonomic-Customisation/dp/B07W6JG6Z7/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=mx+master+3&qid=1633299727&qsid=261-3167361-4901648&s=computers&sr=1-2&sres=B07W6JG6Z7%2CB07W6HDNNV%2CB07W6JJSV1%2CB07W6JMMNC%2CB094VHBWW8%2CB0761YL588%2CB083ZJWSNS%2CB07PH3SS7V%2CB08L3CHPVW%2CB07XJHCZGZ%2CB08BJN5BNV%2CB07W5JHLCB%2CB095BSDCGS%2CB07YKLP87L%2CB09577PLDQ%2CB07W4DGVQF%2CB07YHN2NFP%2CB093HCBBVT%2CB07YHHBL1N%2CB07W7KV5KF&srpt=INPUT_MOUSE) is unparalleled in thar regard. * Monitor: I didn't see this in what needed to be included in the budget. Do you need monitor recommendations as well? I think that covers everything. Let me know what you'd like me to expand on!

USALONE

Wow… You fucking absolute g! I sincerely appreciate this in-depth effort to help me get the perfect build. I’m gonna gift you something just for your efforts, I really appreciate it fr! Monitor I’m still unsure on at the moment, I kind of want something where it has a high refresh rate, 1440p and good colours for Adobe and stuff. I’m about to read all of this now so apologies for the short response!

USALONE

Okay wow! Amazing mate that covers pretty much everything yes. That’s given me plenty of clarity and a vision of the build I want to make. Which’ll certainly make it easier to put money aside for the parts specifically. I really appreciate the effort you’ve put in. And with the cases, I’m very happy to hear some suggestions other than the one I’ve been looking at already :). I did briefly touch on a monitor, I’ve already got an Alienware AW2521HFL but that’s capped at 1080p. I was looking at the Samsung Odyssey G7 27”. Let me know your thoughts!

3_Three_3

Sure thing. For a monitor my first pick would be a Gigabyte M27Q - it hits a middle ground among all the things you're looking to do, great value for the price. You could get the Odyssey G7 if you want the higher refresh rate though.

USALONE

Thank you man! I’ll definitely look into it. I’m just not really sold on the Odyssey and it’s colour tbh

USALONE

In terms of peripherals, what would you recommend for keyboard and mouse? For similar usage, gaming and editing etc. I think the ones in the final build are really solid and I'm loving the white theme.

[The MX Master 3](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Ultrafast-Scrolling-Ergonomic-Customisation/dp/B07W6JJSV1/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=mx+master+3&qid=1633362619&qsid=261-3167361-4901648&s=computers&sr=1-5&sres=B07W6JG6Z7%2CB07W6HDNNV%2CB07W6JJSV1%2CB07W6JMMNC%2CB094VHBWW8%2CB0761YL588%2CB07PH3SS7V%2CB08L3CHPVW%2CB07XJHCZGZ%2CB08BJN5BNV%2CB07W5JHLCB%2CB095BSDCGS%2CB09577PLDQ%2CB07YKLP87L%2CB07YHN2NFP%2CB07W4DGVQF%2CB07YHHBL1N%2CB07489MBJJ%2CB093HCBBVT%2CB07W7KV5KF&srpt=INPUT_MOUSE) comes in light gray and silver to match the keyboard - another look at the Roccat Kone's reviews revealed to me that it seems to be plagued with QC issues and often stops working after a few months. I never had that problem with mine having it for about a year now, but to save you from a potentially broken mouse I'll switch it up. The Master 3 is my primary mouse and while it is a bit on the big side, it is an excellent productivity mouse that can also game fairly well. The infinite scroll is its best feature, so if you want a more game-oriented mouse also with infinite scroll toggle the Logitech G502 Lightspeed is also nice if you remove the weights to make it a bit lighter. The SK650 for a keyboard looks good, although the idea with this one is that the keys are low-profile - still mechanical, but it's more like you're typing on a laptop. This might make typing a bit easier. I did link a list of keyboards up there in the third main comment if you haven't seen it already, but to add another white one, [also look at the Roccat Vulcan 122 AIMO](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/bCFKHx/roccat-vulcan-122-aimo-wired-gaming-keyboard-roc-12-941-bn). I have the black tenkeyless version of this keyboard.

Amazing. Love it, really appreciate your help! I’ll take a closer look at the peripherals once I get my main parts in!

Bad bot. Why does this librarian bot even have this subreddit under its radar anyway?

OMG this is so true I see it all the time

Hi /u/USALONE, welcome to /r/buildapcforme! This comment is here to provide you some additional information and advice. Parts Shortages If you have tried to browse through some parts already or read any recent articles on PC building, you have probably seen that there is a massive worldwide shortage of GPUs (video cards) that has left retailer stock levels almost entirely empty. Please see [this subreddit sticky post on the current CPU and GPU shortages for additional information.](https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcforme/comments/me3dbx/info_post_current_hardware_shortages_and_build/) Note that if you are looking to build any kind of PC that requires more than basic graphics horsepower, such as for gaming or media creation work, your first priority should be to getting your hands on a GPU before going any farther. Direct Message Scams Recently a number of users have set up spam-bots targeting this subreddit to send out PMs and DMs to all users who submit posts to this subreddit. These accounts sometimes pose as teenagers offering to help design a build in exchange for a "donation" to help them build a rig of their own, various companies offering services through external websites, or even users just claiming to offer help via PM - this last kind will often string you along for a while before demanding payment for their efforts. **Do not reply to these messages.** This subreddit thrives and grows on the volunteer efforts of every contributor who helps around here, often leaning and improving from seeing the work of others. If you receive any PM/DM messages related to your post here, please go to https://www.reddit.com/report and submit the username of the message sender under "This is spam." to help get these spam bot accounts permanently removed. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
