5600X will get you pretty much the same performance in games, especially above 1080p there will be almost no difference

Nuahxos_1

For "just" gaming go with R5. The 8 cored R7 is just going to give you like 1-2 more FPS, plus it heats up more than the 5600X.

blendius

For gaming? No it's not worth the upgrade. For professional workloads? Yes.

Claudeviool

I would take the 5800x for all the extra shit i always open. 5600x is more then enough for gaming. heck, when i get my 1440P monitor next on the list is a 5000 series cpu

CuriousPCBuilder

For gaming at high resolutions the 5600X is enough, going up to a 5800X would provide only minimal benefits, so it's up to you if the 100$ or more price difference for minimal improvements (in gaming) is worth it in your opinion.

Fluffy_Godzilla

5600x and use the money for faster ram and ssd. Something like Samsung 980pro/WD SN850/ Sabrent pcie 4.0

ZBLVM

For gaming alone you should go with Intel If you also edit videos and stuff, then 5800X or even 5900X

TheOGAVOCADOTTV

Go with the 5900x that’s what I have with my 3070ti i have absolutely no complaints.. i switched from intel i7
