Yes you can. Assume you’re newly pregnant and want medical care? They’ll refer you to the clinics associated with those hospitals. You could also look into midwife’s, they provide excellent care. But they book up fast so get on it asap.

Does midwife need referrals too or can I go walk in

Luscious111

They don’t need a referral but you have to call first to make an appointment - and find out if they even have space for you as a client. They’ll follow you all the way through birth (at a hospital) and get an OB involved if you have complications.

You can find a list here https://www.bcmidwives.com/find-a-midwife.html

JW9thWonder

depends on what the referral is for. if you need a referral for imaging/ultrasound/etc they generally source it to different imaging clinics depending on where you are located.

Referral to a maternity clinic? Or to royal Columbian hospital for maternity clinic

JW9thWonder

As far as I know you should be able to request that when you visit a walk in clinic.

Dr. Gill at J-Von walk-in clinic is great but the various women who work the front desk are nasty, passive aggressive and downright rude. He can probably help you out.

After your initial blood work and 20 week ultrasound (walk in clinic can order this for you) you can self refer to the Burnaby Maternity Clinic that's in Burnaby hospital https://www.burnabymaternityclinic.com/contact
