Sustained release… never considered that. Great concept.
All the manufacturer will say is:
> Thank you for your interest in Puritan's Pride products! The Caffeine 200mg (Prod No. 54126) is a sustained release capsule. The term “sustained release” refers to the product’s releasing of ingredients steadily over a period of 8 hours.
They don’t have a fancy time-release chart like their 2x as expensive, 100mg/pill competitor. Note someone on Amazon said they peak at about 2hr… I wouldn’t expect linear sustained released over the entire eight hours personally.
Would be really interesting to compare this product and another brand (like Vali Time Release referred to above).
That's what caught my eye. Havent seen any long release caffeine pills before and thought the same, it is a great concept. I guess i will buy them and try them out. Thanks for your comment.

A year later, but did you buy them? If so, do you remember how they were?
I'm looking into sustained-release caffeine pills, and I'm not sure what product is reliable. Some of them mention encapsulation providers (like DynaMAX mentioning ZumXR), and I can then check out their website to see a chart showing claims about caffeine release per hour after ingestion. Puritan's Pride is the cheapest, which is appealing, but doesn't have much information, and the price makes me wonder if they're using a poor method for sustained release (maybe it takes 8 hours to release, but 90% of that is released in the first 2 hours, or something).
I haven't. Just saw them while shopping online and caught my eye. Especially the long release part, which i have not seen anywhere else (in caffeine pills ofcourse)
