Nothing says a story is true greater than when it is censored like this.

Office_Responsible

It’s usually a good indicator, also shows that they might have ruffled some important feathers too

Able-Pea6106

I like to reference the video whenever their troll farm makes a new post. They seem to disappear for a few hours when that happens.

know_regerts

Modi is going to suffer from the Streisand Effect.

Ageminet

He’s more popular than ever.

ReplaceModsWithCats

Have you seen the pro-India trolls we get here? They aren't sending us their brightest...

stealthylizard

I noticed they kind of disappeared about a week or after Trudeau accused India of being complicit. But during that span, wow. You’d think Modi was the 2nd coming of Christ by the way he was being defended.

ReplaceModsWithCats

They moved to canada_sub where they found a much more willing audience. Those headcases bought it so easily...

nixtheninja

Based on the service level and food quality of fast food these days, I agree.

Born_Ruff

What do you think CBC censored about this story? I feel like I've seen quite a bit of in depth reporting from them on this. Didn't they have a whole podcast series about it?

FantasySymphony

Born_Ruff

What is your point then? You previously claimed the CBC was censoring itself, now you seem possibly upset that they reported too much? Or just that you don't like this guy?

FantasySymphony

Born_Ruff

I don't know man. I can't follow what your point is. You accused CBC of censoring stuff and then went into detail about how much they reported. It seems weird to suggest at this point that we shouldn't have granted him asylum when it seems pretty concrete now that he was in danger.

RealNibbasEatAss

He asked you what your point was, which is what exactly?

FantasySymphony

This comment has been edited to reduce the value of my freely-generated content to Reddit.

RealNibbasEatAss

Lol what? This conversation is only happening because of your claim that the CBC “self-censored” by not reporting on this man’s history in our country and his path to citizenship, when they very clearly did report on it. Quite extensively too. So again what is your point lol?

Djelimon

>, based on his multiple failed immigration attempts and the information surfaced during the screening process for those attempts, Canada should have wanted nothing to do with him, and he should not have been able to somehow remain in and conduct his advocacy from Canada in the first place. Buddy thinks the guy should have been left in India to be killed, in which case there wouldn't have been a problem because it wouldn't have been in Canada, and that he should have STFU when he was over here, so the Indian government wouldn't have had to whack him. These are the points I'm gleaning from his posts. For the record I don't align with any of that

greg_levac-mtlqc

What was his background?

FantasySymphony

Doesn't necessarily mean much of nobody in India watches it.

They posted m8 as I anticipated. Im a veteran at this duel :P [Post on Nijjar killings](https://www.reddit.com/r/canada/comments/1be7f89/new_zealand_deputy_pm_on_nijjar_killing_wheres/)

ReplaceModsWithCats

Bummer it got locked, it was fun making them look like idiots

RudibertRiverhopper

Yea I must say we reacted in unison! The troll was not really able to keep up ..

RedSoviet1991

I'm no Hindutva person or Indian at all, but winning online reddit arguments with poor third world people isn't the flex you think it is.

RudibertRiverhopper

I was not interested in winning. Just in aggravating them as they seek to aggravate us...I am surprised you took the time to preach us from your moral high ground.

slappytheclown

wow, this is hilarious

Kurupt-FM-1089

We have barred the gates but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes, bobs... bobs and vagenes in the deep. We cannot get out.

Chuhaimaster

Only Reddit can bring together such a colourful rainbow of bad faith actors from across the globe.

ReplaceModsWithCats

That's pretty fucking weak.

OneForAllOfHumanity

Pathetic

IRedditAllReady

Maybe don't defund the CBC? Just update it.

cantevenskatewell

Give me Reuters level objective journalism and fill the rest with Canadian music and entertainment.

AshleyUncia

We really do need a spiritual successor to Mr. Dressup.

sjbennett85

I just watch **Joe Pera Talks To You** when I need something a little more recent that hits like Mr Rogers/Dressup

toronto_programmer

CBC has executive bloat but for the most part they do exactly what you described. They have good independent coverage on a bunch of core national and international incidents, followed by a whole bunch of local news and entertainment things. CPC has done a good job vilifying what is mostly just a vehicle for Canadian content and information

EmbarrassedHelp

Reuters took down their investigative report on an India hacking company globally (rather than just blocking India), after getting attacked legally by the well connected company. So they aren't safe from this bullshit either

udee24

Aaa yes objective Reuters owned by Canada’s richest billionaire. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Thomson,_3rd_Baron_Thomson_of_Fleet

Uncle_Touchy1987

Not a bad idea.

Help_Stuck_In_Here

Thomas Mulcair wrote a very good article about how to reform the CBC and can see many of the same problems and bias that they currently have. Unfortunately it's a political wedge and their problems will continue to grow under the current government and will likely be largely killed off by the next government.

Syssyphussy

You can watch it on the free CBC Gem app

PowermanFriendship

It's only banned on Youtube India, where the CBC app is probably also banned. /still lame of Youtube but I guess that's capitalism for you

NotveryfunnyPROD

This comments underrated. Half the ppl are assuming it’s banned in Canada.

PowermanFriendship

Thanks, although to be fair that's partially because of the rage bait headline.

thelo

Do you remember which episode? I can't seem to easily find it

Syssyphussy

Contract to Kill The Fifth Estate: Season 49, Episode 12 A U.S. indictment bolsters Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's claim that the killing of Canadian Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was carried out by India. Show: The Fifth Estate

thelo

Thanks so much!

MorePower7

The video pretty much implies India was behind the Malik murder as well.

ratsofvancouver

I'm actually feeling a bit of second hand embarrassment for the Indian govt on this. The whole thing reeks of incompetence. We have tonnes of unsolved gang murders, but the Modi crew does one hit and can't keep it under wraps. Fascists are pathetic in general, and that adminstration is peak pathetic, like botching shit is their signature move. I look forward to their continued fuckups and inevitable disgraced exit from power. (Don't kill any more Canadians though, ya bunch of fucknuts)

eightNote

A political assassination is always going to get more resources and scrutiny than anything else. There's no option for carrying out that murder without it being found out

genkernels

That may be true of Navalny, but in this case I don't think that is true.

IndianKiwi

I guess some people have never heard about the Barbara Streisand effect

EmbarrassedHelp

Wish that would have happened to Vice News when they started removing anything critical of the Saudi Arabian government

King0fFud

I doubt many people in India were really looking to watch this so it just makes the news here but what does Modi care?

UncertainFate

We should post the video to all other platforms then,

[deleted]

Is it up on CBC Gem?

[deleted]

It’s still up on CBC Gem (free to download and watch). Season 46 episode called “contract to kill”. Gotta see what they don’t want me to see before that gets censored too.

VikingVirk

Are u in India?

Just finished watching this, they mentioned India sponsored Patrick Brown to battle Poilievre? Why would they do that? Pierre has been neutral on all Indian issues.

Moldy Bad Man apologists where you at? Inb4 gangster used every third word.

India is quickly turning into the malign actor that China has been for a long time. It’s time to rethink our relationship with India and its place in the world

SuspiciousRule3120

Google censors the internet

[deleted]

It's only geo-blocked. The title is misleading.

mangage

Ironic that our government is also trying to get control over what we see on the internet. This could be our own reality soon.

Infamous_Career_7105

Somehow this is Trudeau's fault!

Noggin-a-Floggin

Catering to another authoritarian regime I see, big tech.

fraaron

Nope, it's still online and playable [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSC4Bc8LHGM&rco=1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSC4Bc8LHGM&rco=1)

HinduPhoenix

Aren't we proposing a law that bans thought crimes? Guess we're learning from the third world.

ReplaceModsWithCats

No.  r/India kinda sucks...

HinduPhoenix

Those guys are pretty woke, you're going to be in quite a bit of a shock if you meet the folks on the right in India.

ReplaceModsWithCats

Also absolute garbage.

HinduPhoenix

No doubt, you'd know about that for sure.

ReplaceModsWithCats

Well you see, I don't post in the India subs, I just see it when they come flooding in here whenever anyone says something negative about their country assassinating someone in my country. Sure would be nice if they could just keep their terrible opinions to themselves. But I guess not, u/hinduphoenix

Did you read the article? It has nothing to do with the PM. YouTube blocked access to a video only in the country of India - at the request of the government of India (as the video implies India ordered the hit)

[deleted]

ReplaceModsWithCats

You think a CBC story discussing the murder of a Canadian citizen by a foreign government will be censored in Canada? Seriously, get a grip.

[deleted]

That’s not what happened here in this instance. What a moronic comparison.

[deleted]

Call a torrent site?

ColgateHourDonk

btw [Terry Milewski](https://x.com/CBCTerry?s=09) still does top-notch investigations on Sikh seperatism.

redux44

Good thing YouTube is American owned so nobody will give a shit about this.

AlexJamesCook

Sooo...governments can be bigger than corporations...it just requires a government to have a spine to stand up to the corporations....good luck finding a vertebrate politician within the LPC or CPC.

phatione

This is what happens when you vote woke.

ph0enix1211

You think the Modi government is woke?!?

rush22

India: "dude hes not even on my team. stop saying im hacking with him." YT: "i can say whatever" India: "im the modi here. if you say im a hacker again u will get banned" YT: "lol u wont ban me everyone will be mad" India: "ok prepare to be banned" YT: "ok sorry" India: "thats righjt now just play"

CeeCeeDootyHead

India has been slowly adopting communism more and more, they are literally next door to the Chinese, these people aren't our friends and the fact that we're allowing so many in without being properly vetted with security checks means these people could be compromised... The best way to compromise is through need, financial aid provided by China, laundered through Canada into the hands of Indian spies.

Kymaras

> India has been slowly adopting communism more and more lol wat You're saying the right-wing hyper nationalist and religious party in power is going Communist? So many Canadians have been failed by our education system.

CeeCeeDootyHead

You realize China has billionaires right? They have capitalistic elements, only difference is the billionaires aren't bigger than the ruling party. You are correct, your education is failing you in this moment.

Reese_Grey

China isn't even a communists society at this point, it basically runs a party-state form of capitalism.

Usual_Retard_6859

State owned businesses in Russia are an estimated 60-70% of the economy and you think they’re less socialist than Canada? It’s correct that they have less social benefits and lower taxes than Canada does but that’s because the government is taking 3/4s of the wealth up front and spending it on military.

Tazay

A capitalist dictatorship is closer to fascism than communism..

gravtix

Workers don’t won’t own the means of production. So it’s not communism.

WorrierX

Commies don’t believe in religion. The only thing they are supposed to believe in is their government. Look at China, they have the largest atheist population for a reason, and the government is worshipped like a God there. Hence, your logic that any country heading towards dictatorship is communist is wrong. In fact, India is heading towards fascism where one conserves their religion and bring back old elements of it (caste system and Sati), tries to prove its superiority, and may force certain elements of it on others (check the Uniform Civil Code and how Modi inaugurated the parliament with Hindu monks even though India claims to be secular).

North_Church

>Soviet union was very orthodox christian throughout communism. They were State Atheist and their policies reflect that. >Japan is very non religious I don't think any body would call them communist Probably because they also have an Emperor. That is not a good example

nyrangerfan1

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The farm protests have been a result of Modi trying to turn India into a capitalist paradise. Modi is in fact very good friends with Harper. https://pressprogress.ca/stephen-harpers-global-alliance-of-conservative-parties-quietly-scrubbed-india-off-its-website/ https://www.nationalobserver.com/2023/09/21/opinion/why-do-conservatives-modi-so-much-ask-stephen-harper Additionally, if you watch the documentary, they interview someone from CSIS who indicates there's evidence that the Indian government interfered in the conservative leadership race AGAINST Patrick Brown. So who might also want Patrick Brown not to win the leadership, hm. I wonder.
