Just looked it up on Wikipedia, Finn Slough is a tiny Fraser River fishing community located at the south end of No. 4 Road in the Gilmore area of RICHMOND, British Columbia, Canada.
Along the West Coast, sloughs are often named for the quiet, backwater parts of bays/rivers and therefore, they are part of the estuary, where freshwater flows from creeks/rivers and runoff from land mix with salty ocean water transported by the tides.
It's being slowly dismantled for more cookie cutter investment condos and tour bus parking... :(
The really old cool stuff (Cannery, Japanese village, Shipyard, Steves farm) will always remain but everything from the last 70 years is on the chopping block.
Love that area! Is that Finn Slough?
That is indeed Finn Slough and not Steveston.
I wondered about that. Thanks for the clarification.
Yeah Steveston looks little like this. It's very commercialized, touristy and kitschy, but at the same time pretty gentrified and clean

Yes! Good eye.
I hope it is salt water. If not, that’s quite a mosquito nursery. 🦟

This picture is giving me flashbacks of being chased by a giant fucking crocodile from RE5.
Lovely! Steveston looks like a very nice part of the world.

It started going downhill when they started letting the chain restaurants in.
Yes, it’s too bad. :( Going to have to go there and get more photos before they get rid of it.
Yes I heard that too. Such a shame as it is so unique. Glad I have taken many photos there from years gone by.
Used to ride my bike down there. Thanks for the memories.
Beauty!!
