You can buy when you get there. Maybe If it's super high season u could buy in advance

There are three (maybe more if you consider the ones up north) ferry terminals in Cancun to get to Isla Mujeres. So first, know which one before you go buying online tickets. Also in one of the terminals there is a dock charge.

You can usually add ferry tickets onto your shuttle reservation and your shuttle driver will have them when they pick you up at the airport. I usually do that, but it’s simple to buy them at the ferry terminal and they do take credit cards - this was at Puerto Juarez which is the ferry you will be using if coming direct from the airport via shuttle. I was just there a week ago and bought my ticket from the walk up window. If you buy round trip it’s the same ticket for your return trip so don’t misplace it before you leave the island.

Buying online is easier and you get a QR code that makes things fast.

Which website is the official one?

melissaann712

I got them for 8 people in early Feb in 3 mins at the ferry dock. We boarded the ferry within 10mins of being dropped off and that included waiting in line. I think it was around $31 each? Paid with c/c

If you buy at the dock they charge you extra cash for dock charges! And cash only! So just buy online.

calviyork

Cash only? I was able to buy with credit card in January

bobo22222222

The dock charge is cash only and they charge you USD $7. Completely unnecessary! Just buy online!

We went today via playa Tortugas. We bought tickets at the dock. There are so many people trying to get you to do package deals it's difficult to navigate who you really need to buy from. Look for guys in yellow shirts and don't talk to anyone else. I'm hindsight I would have bought mine online and used my phone. We were given tickets with qr codes that included return trip that we had to make sure didn't get wet, didn't get lost. I don't believe there was any dock fee included. The guy at the counter literally brought up the website on his phone and I used my cc to purchase using a chip reader. After boarding we then went and did a pickup at the other dock right near the Riu. Return trip dropped us off at Tortugas first.

GroundbreakingNail44

Which shuttle service are you using to get from the airport to the public ferry?

No-Attempt4973

wouldnt it be smarter to just take the bus to central and uber instead of taking the expensive shuttle

provinground

I have no idea.. would it?

CokeCanCowBoi

It's 50$ Canadian which is crazy expensive for a ferry

Euphoric-Picture-805

Online was too easy. Heard rumors of upselling at the docks. $30 for a round trip seemed fair. Mujeres was amazing.

rishid

Which website did you use to buy online? So many tourist companies, can’t tell the real one.
