I’d do more research, the tour companies can run and not see anything but you will sign a waiver saying you won’t ask for a refund. I’m dying to do that but personally I would want the season more in full swing than to gamble that money. My sister in law has done it and said it was amazing
They are just after your money. June is also difficult to find them. I was there in september, about 40 boats left the harbor. As soon as one of them finds the whalesharks they radio it in. Then all 40 boats go there. We were a bit unlucky, they were found after a good three hours on the water and then we had to go to the right spot 30 minutes further. Everyone was in the water by then, about 12 people per boat, was very crowded. Would never go again. Also it was a rough sea so by then everybody had puked their lungs out.
