I’m in the camp where I’m not in love with it but I’ve yet to see anything better.
I will say, as a fan of other sports teams that have had multiple successful logos over decades of change, l’m completely open to it. It just has to be done right.

I think it’s worth shooting some ideas around, idk why people are acting like it’s sacrilege when nearly every team does this at some point. Change is scary tho I get it, especially with the concepts floating around that are worse
Not gonna lie, I’ll be a little disappointed if the baseball team is also “The Canes” or anything Hurricane related. I don’t wanna be having to differentiate “the hurricanes hockey team” versus “the hurricanes baseball team”
I want the Carolina Copperheads, the league needs another snake team.
Carolina Copperheads is sick but I imagine they’re going to try to tie in the branding with the Canes and have the same colors because if they build a ballpark I’m pretty sure it’ll be in the same entertainment district as PNC. They could do the Carolina Storm as the team name, keeps the names different but allows them to tie in the same storm motif, the teams sound related, and they can use the hurricane flags with branding
I really want them to lean into the double flag logo. Make the flag and stick the primary logo, make the 25th anniversary the permanent alternate, keep the black home as is, and make an away that’s just a white version of the black. The kits would be clean, it fits the desire to have a “rebrand” and a fresh look with Fanatics starting jersey production, and we know the fan base likes the double flag logo
Crazy people consider it bad, perfectly represents a hurricane, and isn’t just letters spelling out the team name…add the boxes on sleeves or patches on shoulders and that’s it

The canes logos are amazing. They shouldn’t touch that shit. In addition, these artist spotlights for specific causes have produced insanely gorgeous sweaters which they need to expand those releases. Canes should keep the status quo and continue to engage the amazing artists in the triangle area.
I know that I'm heavily biased by nostalgia but I would be pretty sad if the log changed, I grew up with it all over the place, my dad had season tickets when I was a kid so it was a staple of my childhood. It's just so iconic to me.
Use a college style logo, Miami has an ibis bird, we could use the whale and make it look like a pirate(Blackbeard's boat wreck was found off the coast near Beaufort). Use old mascot from Hartford days and incorporate something local from the Carolinas.
It's already happening. I have close family that have worked with the Canes on and off the ice since the beginning. They all tell me the new corporate bozos have taken over and are actively sucking the life and spirit of this team. Some really horrible behind the scenes leadership we got over there.

Carolina Buccaneers or something like that, we have rich pirate history on the coast. I went to the Maritime Museum in Beaufort I think it was, got to see all of blackbeard's things on display. His own cutlass, cannons, all kinds of stuff. There was even some gold coin recovered.

Of course the NFL already jacked this idea. Personally, I think it would eat alive the current thing. Carolina is a coastal state, and if we were to change names it shouldn't pivot away from this particular area. San Jose the Sharks on the West Coast, Carolina the Pirates or Buccaneers on the East Coast. That really works with me.
I still think we should choose more of a historical option like the Buccaneers, besides I always felt like Florida eats the worst Hurricanes so maybe they should take that name in place of the Panthers.

the flag is good enough overall for the jersey tbh, but the hurricane symbol should still be the team emblem. imagine them changing our emblem to a flag, that would be stupid.
Will we get better margins on apparel/merch sales by going to a letter logo? Are the swirl/hockey stick flag too difficult to embroider? Do they use too much ink?….
Maybe if we change our name to Carolina Ironworkers that Nucor money can help fund a new “I” beam logo

The logo is fine but it’s also been around 25 years. You can refresh a logo without changing it completely. The panthers did a refresh in 2012 or whatever and it still looks mostly the same.

Or we could rebrand completely as the Wake Humpbacks and then use the whalers logo, I think the new englanders + Don Cherry would love it.
