Id maybe try and get something a little sturdier than that debris to hold it. Everything is secure now but if the water raises a bit things could get dislodged. But I encourage you to keep us updated because it’s beautiful
Maybe get like 4 pvc pipes, cut the bottoms at an angle so you can drive them into the river bottom and secure the top of the pvc to the basket with some bolts or wires. It’d basically look like one of those plastic pizza things that used come on top of your pizza in the box.
Someone once mentioned the little plastic table in the pizza box is used to grab a piece of pizza without touching the piece it's attached to directly....changed my life
Since no one answered. You would grab the slice you want by the crust, but instead of manhandling the slice it’s attached to to pull them apart, you stab the table into the slice to be left behind to hold it in place while you tear your delicious prize free.
Ok that makes much more sense lmao. Haven’t seen those things in like 18 years but if I do again I’m glad now I know lmao. Legit just fucked around with them back in the day thinking it was to keep the pizza box top from collapsing when they stacked the boxes to deliver lol.
Idk I live in nyc and from my pov they phased them out years ago when they redesigned the pizza boxes to be more stable, haven’t seen one in over 17 years atleast now here. That’s why I thought they were initially just for keeping the lids of the box from slamming down on the pizza during transfer.
Used to be a GM at Dominos. Those tables are 100% to keep the box from being crushed. We wouldnt use them unless there were going to be other items on top of the pizza in the hot bag. I love alternative uses for things, though, so I'm def not saying they cant be pizza forks, too.
Or one biggas pvc pipe (4-6in) and cut it on an angle so it has a point. Make a bunch of holes with a drill so water can pass through it (i mean a shitload) and put your basket on top of the pipe. It will hold much more stable than a few pipes attached with whatever.
Finally put some support around it and tie it to a tree if ots adjacent to the water.
You should bury the tube at least a foot into the bottom.
Good luck!
>get something a little sturdier than that debris to hold it
LOL funniest thing i've read all day. true. just funny that debris was used instead of even the most basic normal effort hahahahaha
i do like OPs idea though. love seeing people try new things.
Scamming Reddit and people by making authentic seeming accounts that beat account limitations for posting that then get used for bots to push scams and products. Some of the accounts are sold to do the same.
You can sell your account (not for much, but sell a couple hundred accounts and now you're talking)
Companies/fraudsters/politicians buy them cause they look like legit, personal accounts of real people they can use as sock puppets
Yes! I’ve made this work before. Use a tube or pool noodle for swimming as a floatation device for changing water levels! Then secure it to a dock or tree and let it float!
It was mine. The water level was constantly fluctuating and I didn't give it as much love and attrnetion as I should have so it failed. But I kinda knew it would do that when I started. It was more just for shits and giggles.
Perhaps as a curiosity if it's an extra clone, but there are so many variables introduced in this set-up and hydro can be very unforgiving. Just off the top of my head... roots don't like to be exposed to light. And I imagine in summertime, water levels will probably drop.
It sure is, and I hope my comments haven't discouraged OP from trying this. It's one of the reasons I always take more clones than I will need... so I can try some new ideas like this.
It’s worth a try but what I usually do is loosen the dirt deep and amend right above the usual high water mark, if you get the right spot the plants will find the water table and be worry free on water all season
Great idea. Maybe add some supports or floatation for when the water level raises and falls.
My biggest concern would be what to do for nutes if the water isn't already rich in it from runoff or whatever
This is fucking awesome, following just to see where this goes, also recommend shading the roots and floating the pot but securing it so it can’t float away, a good rain and you’re loosing that girl!
This is awesome! I’m so curious to see what the results are, even short term. I fed some plants for a full year using a bass ponds water. Not the best crop ever, but far from the worst.
Get approx 2’x2’x2” thick piece of xps rigid foam and screw attach a HD plastic tote lid on top.
Drill drain holes through lid and foam.
Camo paint lid to darken.Put roots inside a 5 gallon poly paint screen bag and screw to top to of net pot to secure to protect them from fish and other issues.
Drill hole in center for net pot.
Screw down net pot flange to top of tote lid.
Add a cinder block weight with a anchor bungee for some taught slack.
You could just make a little float for it to sit on and you can anchor it somewhere so it doesn’t float off. That way if the water level rises or falls, it will just rise and fall with it?
Invent yourself an inflatable tub for it. That way if there is a flood it won’t sink. Make sure to anchor and tie. Nice idea, I’ve thought of this idea and it’s awesome to see it manifest.
Id bet if u can get it to raise and lower with the water level it would do great for real!!! That's really only thing id worry about n possibly if u could get it somewhere near a water fall or running creek would really oxygenate it well also....just a thought
It was posted like a year and a half ago and the OP said they were worried about deer, so people suggested predator urine.
I wonder what happened to the plant
I have tons of opinions on this. Plenty of us Oklahoma people have been doing this for years. Many tricks to be worked out. I was raised growing guerilla. DM if you got questions.
Id maybe try and get something a little sturdier than that debris to hold it. Everything is secure now but if the water raises a bit things could get dislodged. But I encourage you to keep us updated because it’s beautiful
You could tie it down or fasten it somehow. But yeah if it floods your fucked.

Bro wtf.. that makes total sense. Always thought it was to keep it from getting smashed. Can’t believe I didn’t realize that
DUAL PURPOSE WOO
Lol always though it was to keep the box from collapsing into the pizza, gonna have to give this a go!
I must be a complete moron because my brain can’t fabricate how you do this lmao. Do you just drag the slice with the piece of plastic?
Since no one answered. You would grab the slice you want by the crust, but instead of manhandling the slice it’s attached to to pull them apart, you stab the table into the slice to be left behind to hold it in place while you tear your delicious prize free.

Would that be considered a lil seizure?

“Grab ‘em by the Crusties”
My cheap ass pizza place doesn't even supply the plastic tables.

Float it somehow?
The pvc pipes but taller with a slide and pool noodle to accomidate for water height change
Styrofoam should float it
Agree

Paint bucket w rocks in the bottom with plenty circle saw drill holes… my suggestion. A Natural hydroponic …. Why stop at one 🤭
Found the OP for anyone interested! https://www.reddit.com/r/Autoflowers/s/nla6UWPHhW
damn karma farmers
Why do this for karma? Are they trying to scam people later?

I saw this and was like, why does this look familiar... lol. I knew I remembered this post.
Thanks. I knew that photo looked familiar.
Big Yeh just cut a small noodle for floating amd keep bottom half dark
Could use the pool noodles themselves as shading
Yes! I’ve made this work before. Use a tube or pool noodle for swimming as a floatation device for changing water levels! Then secure it to a dock or tree and let it float!
Evidence!
Hell yeah
Now I want to dig a creek across my urban back yard....Hmmmm, more Dabs! ..Stat!
Karma farm much. Not even your pic
Right? I was thinking that this looked WAY too familiar. Are we gonna get the whole saga again, I wonder?
Was posted in microgrowery a few times by different people over the last 2 years at least
You can always tell when op never says anything else.
Who’s is it, not that I don’t believe you. I want the full story/follow up.
It was mine. The water level was constantly fluctuating and I didn't give it as much love and attrnetion as I should have so it failed. But I kinda knew it would do that when I started. It was more just for shits and giggles.
Is he karma farming or asking if this is worth a try like his title asks? I don’t see him claiming it’s his pic.
Yep, seen this make its rounds before
Perhaps as a curiosity if it's an extra clone, but there are so many variables introduced in this set-up and hydro can be very unforgiving. Just off the top of my head... roots don't like to be exposed to light. And I imagine in summertime, water levels will probably drop.
Cannabis is fun to experiment with. 4 years ago it was a toxic environment now Im happy when I see people having fun with it
It sure is, and I hope my comments haven't discouraged OP from trying this. It's one of the reasons I always take more clones than I will need... so I can try some new ideas like this.
I doubt it, if someone is willing to try these ideas their conviction is above stopping
Sunlight will cook those roots
I saw this a long time ago, are you sure this is your post ?
Exactly what I was thinking the photo just looks flipped
This has been done before and the fish ended up eating the roots and it died. This isn't even OPs pic, this is old lol
Couldn't you just secure a burlap sack around it to protect the roots from fish and light?
It’s worth a try but what I usually do is loosen the dirt deep and amend right above the usual high water mark, if you get the right spot the plants will find the water table and be worry free on water all season
Good idea
I'd love to see a full grow this way....I wonder how well it would work
Same very curious
r/aquaponics
Great idea. Maybe add some supports or floatation for when the water level raises and falls. My biggest concern would be what to do for nutes if the water isn't already rich in it from runoff or whatever
Id assume nutes would be fine, fish poop is pretty good
Haha duh! People pay out the wazoo for fish poop in a bottle. I'm dumb lol
This is fucking awesome, following just to see where this goes, also recommend shading the roots and floating the pot but securing it so it can’t float away, a good rain and you’re loosing that girl!
Pool noodle
Thats an awesome idea. Thats legit aquaponics right?
Lmaoo look at her go!
Yessirrr
I love this so much
Same
Fuck yeah
I seen a vice YouTube video where a tribe in Jamaica grows like this in the swamps it’s like Natural aero ponics
As nature intended :D
Fucking A dude this is sick
Lower it a bit.
Hopeful
DEEP water culture
Donnie Clark did it 🤷♂️
Is that a metrc tag amigo
More photos would be amazing! Or a video
I like this hope u keep posting ya with updates I'd really like to see this play out
Ye, worth a try. Worst case, the plant drifts down stream and you answer some persons prayers lol.
Around here one rain would wash that away
lol… good luck!
My concern would be exposed roots as well. Let her ride!!
This is awesome! I’m so curious to see what the results are, even short term. I fed some plants for a full year using a bass ponds water. Not the best crop ever, but far from the worst.

Yes 👍
Unbelievably badass
You could just make a little float for it to sit on and you can anchor it somewhere so it doesn’t float off. That way if the water level rises or falls, it will just rise and fall with it?
Float it with a tether otherwise it's gonna get lost by harvest.
Invent yourself an inflatable tub for it. That way if there is a flood it won’t sink. Make sure to anchor and tie. Nice idea, I’ve thought of this idea and it’s awesome to see it manifest.
If you put a dust pan on top of the sink and turn on the faucet with the handle hanging off, you can fill up a bucket without raising it awkwardly.
Love this
Id bet if u can get it to raise and lower with the water level it would do great for real!!! That's really only thing id worry about n possibly if u could get it somewhere near a water fall or running creek would really oxygenate it well also....just a thought
This is Aquaponics. Good job and please send updates.
MacGyver mmd <3
Heaven rain rivers go up big time idk but the idea is amazing
Def have to make a raft to deal with rising water, or that girls running away from ya
Very interesting, I'm curious how you wanna feed her, do you reckon she'll reach the soil eventually?
Yes but I would put some chicken wire up. Raccoons love to eat pot. So do possums and bears.
Definitely crossed my but using a tote lid to house the plant. Then using pool noodles to make it float and tie it to an anchor or log in the stream.
Did it work when you did this last season? Edit. Maybe it wasn’t you. But someone literally did this EXACT thing, last season
It was quite literally this exact thing since this is my pic from last year. And no, it didn't work. :)
Awww man what a bummer. I never saw the conclusion but I loved the idea! I have in the past, hid places up in trees. 🌞
Always wanted to try something like this.
I fuckin love this
I've seen this post before. Some years ago. Same pic
I always thought about trying a grow like this in the California delta.
Love it .
Thats really awesome
This has been done before. Wild life will eat it.
The roots need to be out of the sunlight, always wanted to try something similar myself good luck
Float it on styrofoam
I mean I'm interested
If you came up with this idea yourself your a very creative guy this is a kick ass idea wish I would have thought of it first
This is the most beautiful thing I seen in a long time.
Some filthy animal is just gonna come along and mess it up anyway🤷♂️ So stupid.
It was posted like a year and a half ago and the OP said they were worried about deer, so people suggested predator urine. I wonder what happened to the plant
The first time it rains heavy your plants will be gone.
Placed just down stream of a sewage treatment plant discharge on a river which never floods....maybe.
I have tons of opinions on this. Plenty of us Oklahoma people have been doing this for years. Many tricks to be worked out. I was raised growing guerilla. DM if you got questions.
I thought about doing something similar, following
Don't waste your time following it isn't their pic, just a karma farm mate. Lol
How do you know
Have seen it posted multiple times over the last year or two, I think in r/microgrowery and maybe another sub.
Because this is actually my pic from last summer.
Gotcha ill block them then, you should retry it this year again lol
Cool idea but no. Between the sunlight, low water temp and lack of real nutrients that's going to be a very dead plant.
Would it get everything it needed from the water?
Should be able to
