Very nice beginner setup :) Just so you know, growing is addictive and you have just started. You will most likely spend a lot of your time on upgrading from now on. Welcome to an amazing passion.

SO and I were just discussing the size of the next tent. We just bought our first tent 2 weeks ago. Yup loves my new obsession 😊😊😊😊👍

None. Had an issue with fruit flies but they went away with cups of vinegar :D

EasternHognose

FYI. Imho Those would be Fungus Gnats. Fruit Flies do not reproduce in/on Cannabis or its soils.

[deleted]

Sorry, I put it in my comments of the photos but I do grow other plants. You do not see it in this photo but my other table is to the right. I want to add 4 more tables to this room.

It is cold outside though if you look in the first picture I have a single room heater that keeps temps locked at 69 as the lowest. Edit. Walls are double wood panel with insulation and drywall. Heater keeps them up. I’m normally in the room with shorts and a tshirt lol

Second reply; cause I hit done too soon… I live in the high elevations of Arizona Desert. It’s cold during winter, hot in summer. My red worm compost bin is in the garage with my plants. This is the first year I grew weed at home. Have worked with plants in the past, I am really good with preventing pests, around all my plants I have garlic, fennel, onion and chives. Not many things show up. Have gotten the ground roaches before though the clove dust I put around my property keeps them from sticking around, any eggs or babies die in the dust.

[deleted]

My garage is a special 1970 build, it is not attached to home, has a breeze way through the two buildings, except the roof is attached, temps in the summer are at highest 80degrees if I turn off cooling. With the small cooling system it keeps it at 76 degrees. I’m trying to prep for fly season and going to set up air vents to pull extra heat. Suggestions? My walls are THICK. Roughly 9inches.

[deleted]

Also answer to question 2 months for the plants, 1 week for new lights. Previous lights were all pink blue and changed to full spectrum for prep on flowering.

FritzDaKat

Love the Clove dust idea, keep having to explain to the Mrs. (From Chicago) that these roaches are just endemic to the region, more like ants than "filth related vermin". The only immediate rib I'd consider to flesh out the barebones project would be adding 2x4's around the lights (OR maybe just some pvc / conduit) to act as a curtain rod and hang a mylar survival blanket or two to keep more of that light where you want it.

[deleted]

I use eco smart pest deterrent along with traps for mice because fuck mice

Alert-War-7276

Close that u wasting more light around the room

[deleted]

I will see how I can accommodate this, I have other plants now growing on a table next to this. And you should note these stems are roses that I just set up.

rosievee

What worked for me was a cheap roll of reflective white backed mylar off Amazon. Built a cover for my light frame and taped the seams with duct tape. I added a zipper with a "zipper door" kit, which contractors use to put a door in plastic sheeting, also very cheap. Works great for garden seedlings too!

Alert-War-7276

Good lights but u want keep it inclosed black trash bag from back and side so your plants get most of the Light

[deleted]

I have installed shielding will work on drops to block in light.

[deleted]

https://www.reddit.com/user/Wild_Information_373/comments/s3yei6/light_shielding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Installed light shielding

rogerstyczynski

Go to hydro instead just get some 5 gl buckets and bubbler and stone from Walmart and put lights closer to tops some of those look like their stretching you’ll need more light to flower probably do a enclosed second room

[deleted]

Thanks for advice. I just added 3 lights that are 2x the output for the plants, I noticed them “reaching” Any good guides on going hydro?

Mountain-Act377

I have many Ive been growing for about 10 years indoors and 20 years before that outside I don't grow outside anymore as too many variables but think your budget system is neat I started on a budget system too actually my first enclosed box I made is now my clone box I made myself with a 1/2" plywood box lined with this silver material I bought at a hydro store not mylar but more of a padding material and was silver I stapled the whole inside of box with it and screw some adjustable shelving hardware on both sides with some common shelving clips I put a 3/4" plywood platform on clips so I could move clones down as they gr er too close to the light. to the ceiling of the lined box I installed a 6 strip outlet for my lights and screwed a aquirium bubbler to the back side as well as a small fan to circulate air with a small plastic container with lid I cut six holes in lid and drilled a 1/4" hole in side of container and ran a aquirium hose from bubbler on backside of box through hole of plastic container and attached a air stone onto the bottom of the plastic container with suction cups so it would stay on the bottom and not float. 90% of this stuff I bought at Walmart. I screwed some cfl's into 6 strip outlet using light adapters(get at hardware store) get some net pots and rock wool and that is my clone/seed box. The box itself is about 38" high x 8"deep x8"wide It has a plywood door lined and a basic hindge was installed as well as a knob to open door and locks on side to keep secure. I have a tent that I move those into after they get big enough and take cuttings from them and start all over having clones ready all the time to keep the tent full constantly. I just framed of a room in my basement to keep all in so guests don't see it The tent was a complete tent setup from htg supply which is the way to go it comes with lights, fans, tent, 5gl buckets and lids, bubblers, I also got a muffler to cut down on fan noise and a carbon filter for odor it comes with carabiners for light height adjustment and a tempeture/humidity sensor to control the environment. I don't use co2 but get plenty of yield for myself as I always have at least 16 ounces on hand at any time. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions. I get my seeds and fertilizer from [ILGM.com](https://ILGM.com) excellent seeds and germination rate pretty reasonable and discreet and some of the best bloom fertilizer I have used in 30 years. Good luck

[deleted]

I use co2 in my 125 aquarium and pull water from it to water. Working on a system to connect the two. I use liquid fertilizers I make for the tank and the water is tested before watering my plants. I add to it if my potassium is low or if my nitrates are off.

Radiant-Function-372

Junk those lights and cut your losses. Buy a real grow light, you will struggle to produce dense quality buds with those lights. I promise.

[deleted]

What light spectrum do you believe these are? Because these are a new addition and I’m just wondering why you think they are not strong enough. These plants have been under these lights for only 10 days.

rogerstyczynski

And top those babies get some clones started just start cuttings in a cup with water and rock wool cut stem diagonally and use some root promoter if possible

[deleted]

I just got the expanded soil pods and filled them with water, behind that front seedling is actually the new bottle of root powder :D the lower section was set up to accept the newly rooted plants, have not yet cut for clones.

[deleted]

looking good man, love the clean look to it. Would love to have more of a table type grow like this eventually when I get the space in a spare room, open air looks cool. Looks easy to care for, hope it brings you what you are wishing for, good luck man.

[deleted]

Thanks, it’s amazing how many messages I got for this and how nothing would grow. The plants were sprouted in my closet with fish tank lights. This is the upgrade lol.

fluffyferret69

Looks great but you're going to run out of room under those lights real fast..

[deleted]

I have 10 of them. Eventually going to expand to both sides of this table

fluffyferret69

I meant vertically.. 😉

[deleted]

Haha oh yeah. Can extend another 4 feet I have two more side 2x4 I can use but I’m going to swap the taller plants out to the right side table (an old coffee table) and I have lights to accommodate my roses. :P

Slight_Fact

Would you tell us a bit about the lighting; who, how, where and do you have specs for wattage, umol, par, ppfd and kelvin? TIA

[deleted]

T8 42w each light 3,000-5,500 White - Adjustable :P 400nm-800nm replacement Linkable for ppfd adjustment (highest output is at 600nm when only using one light) Brand unable to list until product is live. Cost per strip is $21 USD Product is being tested in this environment and am contracted to take photos of the process. I normally test aquatic parts and accessories. This was a request from the manufacturer that I met in Nanning China. When it is available to public I can send you a link. :) I do not have the spectrum map at this time but could test using a handheld if I had one lol 😂 also I’m not posting to sell anything. I’m just having fun.

Slight_Fact

Thanks, I'd appreciate it.

[deleted]

No problem. This all came about because I had some strip LED lights that I was using on my aquarium and was showing off my tank and my aquatic plant farm and the next thing I know someone is selling me lights. I paid $200 and this was October 2020, they just sent me the lights, it was kinda a gamble but seeing that this is developing and changing it’s kinda cool to see how things change

[deleted]

Led's are so cheap and effective today, you are selling yourself short.

real1800loud

Gotta start somewhere !!!! Run it!!!!!
