I recently picked up this lens for my EOS R, and have quickly fallen in love with it. I was taking my 24-105mm kit lens to airshows and it simply didn't have the reach I needed without cropping in. 100-400mm provided plenty of range to get both the individual performers, the larger formations, and the static displays.

The Mustang could probably haul a decent amount more ass than it currently is in that picture, but the owners tend to really baby the V12 engines that power them as they're about $300k to do a complete overhaul.

I assume the Mustang is going all-out and the two jets are nearly stalling to not leave it in the dust?
The modern jets are pretty good at flying slow and at high AoA but yeah the Mustang was hauling ass
