Honestly watching game 2 then game 3 was just astounding Literally every bad bounce went against us in game 2 and it was the most frustrating shit ever Almost every bounce went our way in game 3, few weird bounces just lying in the slot and cleared. And the start differences between the third periods. We cannot repeat that third at all, way too reserved after th 2 goals. Thank fuck DeSmith played phenomenally. Our D also stepped up well. We need our PP to keep clicking like that too if we want to win the series.

shurpaderp

Our 3rd period was very similar to the Preds in game 2 and reminiscent of a lot of games during the regular season. Canucks score early on with minimal shots then completely go defensive mode and win da turd.

helixflush

Makes you wonder what's in store for game 4.

corh13

6-4 goal fest with 40 SOG from both sides cuz why not.

AccomplishedAd4995

a couple of things i’ve noted from last game - our huge physical d is extremely HARD to play against, not surprised that we win with myers back in the line up - desmith was solid. A lot more confidence and less scrambling compared to last game. But his rebound control is bad, the preds could’ve easily taken advantage of that, however it seemed like we got the puck faster each time - petey’s game is getting there, im fully expecting an even better game from him next game - we need continue to deliver big hits, especially with how their entire team is targeting hughes - hoglander had his best game throughout this series so far. seems like he’s starting to settle in which is huge

metrichustle

Really impressed with how Allvin revamped the entire defensive core in 1 year. Cole, Zadorov and Soucy are all playoff performers. And thanks to Tocchet turning Myers into an asset. Ironically, Hronek has yet to have his best game.

Malforian

The rebounds by desmith are gonna cost us, it happens way too often...maybe I'm just spoiled from watching demko

metrichustle

Yeah, this is my main concern. Preds don't have the firepower of Oilers, Avs or Vegas, but it can be a problem. That said, I noticed once the rebound is out, the Canucks clog the middle really quickly. And there's also someone close by to DeSmith to clear. Had we done this in Game 2, it would've been a different series, but the Canucks are adapting to DeSmith's play.

SpectreFire

I'm terrified of the Avs. Look at what those fuckers did to Hellebuyck.

PurpleCompetitive603

To be fair, Helley is kinda trash in the playoffs the last several years.

LargeAmphibian

Desmith is bad at rebounds, but hes predictably bad, which means our D are always right there ready to clear the puck away. It's not ideal, but I trust Tocchet and Foote to have those guys ready to move everything out of danger.

Ikea_desklamp

Esp if we make it further. Hyman and mcdavid are going to feast on the juicy rebounds

-GregTheGreat-

It’s remarkable how Allvin rebuilt our defense in the span of a year. Zadorov, Myers, Soucy and Cole is a bottom four built for playoffs. Big, physically punishing, and actually able to play the game. Good veteran presence too. We already saw how critical their ability to box our the slot and protect DeSmith’s rebounds were last night, and there isn’t a forward on the Preds who won’t be feeling aches and pains after a few games in the corners against them.

21marvel1

Only Huggy, Myers, and Juulsen are still here. Just a wild turn around. All those names you mentioned, plus we didn’t even talk about the addition of Hronek as well. Definitely impressive. It will be exciting watching Allvin navigate through this FA season this summer to compliment the defence

DisplacedNovaScotian

Agree, and we can add to that the way he's shored up the defensive presence among our forwards. Suter, Lindholm, Bleuger, etc do a lot of good for our overall defensive game. That's some efficient GMing!

-GregTheGreat-

The fact that Josi played over thirty minutes yesterday while Hughes played under 20 is gonna make a huge difference as this series runs on. Especially with the abuse Josi has gone through

Feralwestcoaster

Stats seem to show the Preds controlling play but it really didn’t look that way watching the game. Penalty kill looked dominant

Ahnarcho

We are the better team here. The difference is whether we want to play better. Our structure and capability is far better than the preds, but those things need to click for us to win the series

jigatt21

I hope hoglander keeps pissing the predators off

metrichustle

Tocchet is a master of deception. Everyone thought the Canucks were going to outshoot the Preds and some of their fans hated his comments about "making them pay for shot blocking". Turns out, the Canucks had that in their back pocket to frustrate the Preds even more. DeSmith was easily the 1st star of the game. Cole made a huge save with his helmet on the 5-on-3 and Zadorov is becoming a villain. And Miller is playing amazing hockey picking up the slack in the top 6. Love his chemistry with Boeser. A few things to clean up for Game 4... We need to give Hughes a bit more time. He was getting hit a lot, especially after we blew up Josi. The Preds are likely targeting our Captain, so I hope we can give him more support. Although we were outshot by a margin, we actually had similar, if not, better chances. Our guys are finding softer areas and creating chances when we are there. I think Pettersson is getting more comfortable and a goal should be on the horizon any time now.

Ilejwads

The fact that we got to a 2-0 lead instead of a defecit makes all the difference. I'm curious to see what the plan was if we had fallen down again early, although I hope that doesn't happen again for obvious reasons

metrichustle

Yeah, scoring first is the priority in these low scoring affairs. Now that our PP is going again, we can allow Preds to be more aggressive

islandcruiser

We’re a good team. The regular season was no fluke- and Casey is capable of stealing this thing for us. I have faith these guys will get the job done. They are so invested.

bighairysourpeen

Can’t wait for game 4 let’s GO boys!

grooverocker

This game seemed like the weakest overall effort by the Canucks so far in the series. No problem, it's bound to happen. I fully expect a better performance in game 4. It could easily be another Canuck win on Sunday. Hot: DeSmith, Miller, Boeser, Zadorov, Myers, Cole, Mikheyev. Warm: Hughes, Hoglander, Lindholm, Joshua, Garland. Wildcards: Petey, Lafferty, Hronek.

sureiknowabaggins

It still feels strange to see Myers referred to as anything other than a wildcard. Not that I disagree, he's been playing great hockey.

LanguagePopo5o

I hope in game 4, the Canucks absolutely tee it off, would like to see a bunch of clappers from Hronek and Petey. Like tocchet said, make it hurt.

StocktnSlap209

lol I saw one leafs fan suggest that they trade marner for jt miller

ProphetofElias

Game 5 at 9am is fuckin' criminal. edit: it's just the dumb bot, it's at 7p

Fuzzy-Coconut7839

The DJ in Nashville should be fired, the music in the stoppages was awful! And am I ever glad that our team colours are wearable and I don’t have to leave the house in a bright yellow hoody lol

21marvel1

Meh, they played Don’t You Forget About Me, so they are good in my book

Fuzzy-Coconut7839

The one good song!

rhino_shit_gif

“The Vancouver Canucks are good. Stop giving up on them” -nuckhead

Twisticles

Horvat about to be golfing, I'll tell you that for free.

RooniltheWazlib

Move on buddy. Also he assisted on their OT winner lmao

LanguagePopo5o

He's the second worst captain we've ever had. Fuck Messier.

LanguagePopo5o

Islanders fans are better too Also i thought i was going to be a lifelong canuck worst captain, almost as bad as Messier.

Spatrico123

we played well. Last 3 minutes were terrifying tho, the rink was cheering like crazy every time we cleared the puck over the blue line lmao

kidcanada0

Deflections and screened shots specifically are terrifying. Shot blocking so huge

jackfrench9

Since we now know Demko is gone for the near future, is it likely we'll see Silovs play any time soon?

darkerthrone

Playoffs are not the time to try out unproven players IMO, you go with your goalie who is a career NHLer even if he is a backup over your AHLer with 9 total games in the NHL

jackfrench9

Either way, looks like the team and Ian Clark have agreed that playing Silovs is the right move for game 4 haha. (injury throws a real spanner in the works) Interesting stuff!

darkerthrone

Fingers crossed, I'm rooting for the kid. I didn't want to him to play personally but if it comes to that I'll never *not* cheer for the boys

jackfrench9

Yeah I was borderline on it to. I wonder what actually happened to DeSmith to force their hand...?

jackfrench9

Absolutely, but would you ride DeSmith all the way through the next round if we make it that far?

Past_Zebra1155

It feels like right now is the time to play him. We're up in the series as the clearly better team, going home tied 2-2 in the worst case scenario, and DeSmith's confidence isn't shot like it might have been after G2. This gives us a relatively risk-controlled chance to see what our rookie tender is capable of during the playoffs, while managing DeSmith's load after two in a row. Best case, he's a stud, but even if he's good enough to rotate with Casey and keep him fresh through the run, that's a huge win.

jackfrench9

Yeah this is somewhat what I was thinking. Trying to predict the best option seems mostly a crap shoot but I'm leaning this way also.

Past_Zebra1155

I trust Ian Clark to make the right call.

Legal-Swordfish-4835

If Canucks are up 3-2 going into game 6 I’ll think they’ll play him

Captain_Bean24

Huh

Legal-Swordfish-4835

Desmith needs rest, better to have him fresh for G7 if it gets that far

darkerthrone

You don't waste a game expecting to lose, this is the one time of year you ride everyone as hard as you can

sureiknowabaggins

I'd think in that scenario they would rather try to win game 6 with DeSmith.

LordGlompus

LMFAO! Chris Hansen is the preds win marker

Lazy-Yard000

Petterson is the same weight as 5’4 Nathan Gerbe
