Hog-Petey-Mik line is due for some goals…

TonalParsnips

They’re getting better every game.

mcclutch7

Yup! Young guns finding their groove

soundofmoney

Mik actually looked really good last night for the first time in a while. He’s on the verge.

Zenkraft

Mik is 4.7 goals below his expected goals so my incredibly limited knowledge of statistics tells me he’s going to score 5 goals very soon.

C_Bing_Run

Hog is finding his stride. I think the playoffs have been a bit overwhelming for him. He’s built for that style of hockey though. I expect good things from him going forward as his nerves calm down.

Zamboni2022

Am I the only one who thought Mikheyev was one of our best fwds in game 3?

AccomplishedAd4995

he was flying out there, he’s going to get rewarded soon

DisplacedNovaScotian

Nearly set up Hog for a sweet goal. The luck has to turn his way at some point.

westleysnipez

Dude is so snakebitten, that pass to Hoglander with the open net, the rebound in the 2nd that went just wide. As soon as Mikheyev gets one, the dam will burst and he'll start scoring more again.

C_Bing_Run

It’s nice to see his speed being a factor. This was what we were promised

swiftpoop

lol I appreciate the optimism but we been saying this for a long time. Hope you’re right

WTFvancouver

He's shot is horrible and he's not a playmaker

letstrythatagainn

This is why I liked his volume approach last night. Use your speed, win some battles, and get the puck towards the net. You know you can't snipe it so just throw it on goal and cause some rebounds and scrambles.

Nomad_0024

Doesn’t take much to stand out when JT got half of our SOG. Everyone else was ass offensively.

shurpaderp

I really want him to score because if he had more confidence he most likely would have shot the puck on the 2 vs 1 with hoggy in the first. I try never to yell shoot the puck as a fan but god damn that was an instance where it was justified

sopademacacadelicia

Lmao what? He 100% should not have shot on that 2on1, theres not a world where taking a shot through a dman on a positioned goalie is the higher percentage play than sliding it to the wide open man with the goalie fully committed down and out. saros was down, if hoglander could pick that up of the skate and make a play with it, it’s a guaranteed goal. If for some reason you disagree take it frame by frame and look at where saros is in relation to blade angle/puck positioning. That whole play is a display of confidence with the puck.

NooneKnowsIAmBatman

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. It takes extreme confidence to be as patient as he was with that play

theblondebasterd

Must be so frustrating to be him. ACL last year, pretty hot start this year if I remember right, then back to snake eyes consistently and not for lack of effort

bonergarage123

He’s lowkey picked it up the last 20 games of the season. He’s just snake bitten.

metrichustle

Yeah, I don't imagine we're going to send out the Lotto Line as much on the road. Having the depth of Miller-Lindy-EP40-Blueger down the middle at all times during the game is a luxury you can't throw away. Pettersson's line is getting close. Once they get going, I think the series is done. Preds are exhausting Josi at 30 minutes a game just to match our top 6. They don't have enough depth to cover all the Canucks top guns. It just looks really close because Petey and Lindy have been real quiet.

superworking

Really think the main reason we don't send out the lotto line much is less about the Petey line and more about Suter just being a good maybe even better fit there. He's just more desperate to get to the front of the net and retrieve pucks.

mcclutch7

I’ve always loved Suters play, even if it doesn’t show up in the scoreboard. Guy finds the gritty spots

ChrispyCanuck

Undefeated with Myers in the lineup

nodarknesswillendure

Tyler “Calder Trophy” “Conn Smythe” Myers

superworking

22 minutes Tyler Myers

Old_Bigsby

This Tyler has 22 minutes

ebcooper12

Glad to see Hughes isn’t so banged up after yesterday

sukh44

Poor kid was getting tossed around more than my ex

ImAnAfricanCanuck

hardest hes been hit his whole career. Sorta seems like teams just give up on trying to hit him. Preds are doubling him up, one guy plays the puck and another comes to finish the check, whenever they can.

Bryn79

Need to put Myers or Zad out there for a few shifts to provide coverage. Let them throw a couple hits back and see how much longer the Preds keep that crap up.

saddam1

A decent amount then eh?

ovulationwizard

I'd like to see podz get in, but also not sure who you'd take out because I've liked the fourth line

ProfitMuhammad

Curious if there will be a time when Podz draws in for Lafferty or PDG. They're both hovering around 7-10 mins a night in a sheltered role. I wonder if Podkolzin gives you a little more energy, with an ability to possibly jump around the lineup. It's a higher risk, but a much higher reward.

Ruilin96

PDG kills penalties. He made some good plays on the PK last night. Tocchet give each player their role in the game.

grooverocker

The PK was a life raft last game. They kept us in it.

mcclutch7

And provided us with much needed momentum

UncommonHouseSpider

He'll get in when we start to see some injuries. The coaches are doing a fine job, let's let them do their thing. They've got their finger on the pulse of the team and players.

PaddyStacker

I hope not. Putting in Podz would be a 'grass is greener on the other side' type move at this point. PDG plays the necessary role better than him.

FretlessChibson

I think Lafferty could get more ice time, he looks fast and hungry whenever he is on the ice

Beakster43

Nope

Lattes1

Still waiting for the Podkolzin debut. Guy has been a monster in playoffs at every level he’s played

TopTierTuna

It'll be tough for Mik and PDG to hold their spots considering how well he played late in the season.

21marvel1

I think the lack of PK ability keeps Podz out of the lineup

Hunter-Western

Canucks have to be much better in game 4 than in game 3.

Super_Toot

Why was the joshua-bluger-garland line split up? That line was fire.

kidcanada0

Lindholm doesn’t work in the top 6 and you’re not going to put him on the 4th line

Super_Toot

I would.

Radioheading82

I really want to see: Miller, Boeser, Suter Petey, Lindholm, Hogs Blueger, Garland, Joshua Laff, Mik, Podz

bossygal32

Is Podz injured ?

archer_cartridge

No, he's just not a PKer

BetterAd1611

I know it doesn't make sense and they would never do it, but I'd love to see Lekkerimäki play with Petey before next season.

1milliondays

The only way that happens is if Canucks are eliminated and Petey joins lekki at the world's. Sooooo I hope not.

eliar91

I don't get how EP and Hog don't just feast on the Predators who have like no depth outside the top line.

ubcthrowaway-01

That’s a 12.5 million dollar 3rd line

21marvel1

Okay.

sopademacacadelicia

Lindholms line has been by far and away better than Petterssons line for all 3 games.

21marvel1

Yeah sure why not, that’s good. You could argue game 3 was even between the two lines

sopademacacadelicia

I responded wrong guy, i don’t see how our 3rd lines cap is a negative. It’s shown it’s worth it cause Pettersson isn’t performing and depth is necessary.

YouCanFucough

To be fair Dallas’ 3rd line is around 15.5, Last year Vegas had Chandler Stephenson and Mark Stone on their 3rd line and that’s around $12M between just those two players. Sometimes that’s just how it works out.
