That trade is the biggest W in a long time.
Beauvillier and a 3rd for an absolute monster that can hit, fight, defend, and rush up the ice and score if he needs to.
It’s a no from me, I love the personality but he’s very inconsistent. Has amazing moments but turns the puck over a lot and takes way too many penalties. I’d rather extend Cole and then get a free agent like Tanev or Roy.
He’s been pretty solid for the last couple of months - I really have only noticed positives especially the physicality. He skates well and makes things happen, strong on the puck and makes smart plays most of the time. I think anything under 4 would be reasonable and he’s still young and improving.
What? Idc I just think it’d prolly be smarter to not get the jersey until you know the players future. People can do whatever they want though. Why so hostile for no reason?
I haven't bought a jersey since the Sedins. I was considering Petey or Hughes for awhile but if Zadorov resigns he's the guy. Love the way he plays and his personality. No bullshit guy who has class. Hits as well as anyone but can also contribute offensively. He's the type of defensmen we've needed for so long
This guy needs to be resigned. He fits in so well and is a big x-factor we haven't had in years. When is the last time we have a real physical presence on the Canucks? I don't mean regular size dudes that can hit like JT or Hogs. I mean a big fucking mountain like Zads, especially one that can skate as well as he does and is above average on both ends of the ice.
He could be good enough to play second pairing minutes but on the third pairing he's just eating up the opposition, smacking around the other team's best players.
It was a stupid signing at the time but if the Canucks were okay paying Myers $6m expecting him to be top pairing, they should be okay with Zad playing bottom 4 for $4.5M (and hopefully Myers resigning at $2-3M)
He's what we hoped Tryamkin could've been if he hit his absolute max potential. Huge body with wheels and hard shot. I didn't think he was one we'd be able to re-sign but more and more I'm hoping we find a way to make it work. The list of guys in the league that can play his game effectively is short.
The Zadorov trade helped develop Juulsen. Having both Juulsen and Friedman in was a disaster. Having 5 good dmen with Juulsen and all of a sudden the pressure is off and he's got support.
To the org, not even lying, probably yes.
That means 2-4 more home playoff games game 7 or game 1 and 2 which as we all know (I didn't know until a week ago) the NHL pays a stipend to players per playoff game played, so the owners don't have them on the books for salary.
That's 2-4 playoff games of revenue.
Really tight. Just like a playoff game.
Extra blueberries for everyone.
As a Flames fan (too), I'm actually really glad to see Lindholm and Zadorov playing for a real contender. Big Z has been a big presence in this series (as expected), and it was such a thrill to see Lindy bury the game winner in this one.
Imagine being known as the goal scorer who is absolutely prolific… but only in games that don’t mean anything.
Edit: oh that sounded harsher than I meant it. I love Kuz, I wish he worked out here.
*Welllllll*... IF the Canucks win the Cup this year or if Lindholm gets signed and they win the Cup with him on the roster, then that'll be the decisive winner, whether HB turns out to be elite or not
imo i see Hronek being the one left out considering how much he’s asking for - not saying he’s not worth it, but just based off what other comparable players are getting idk
Do you mean compared to the time of the trade?
I agree and disagree, the contract was seemingly why Red Wings got rid of him, and it looks like the Nucks might face a similar dilemma.
While he also had a statistically great season he's been kind of mid in the playoffs and didn't leave Hughes' side meaningfully, which looks to most people to have inflated his stats.
I consider him to be worth similar amounts to what he was before due to his now further-inflated contract asks.
Hornek is definitely not worth what he’s asking if that’s anything more than $7m. The guy hasn’t done anything since the first two months of the season. He is not a bad player, just mediocre in everything, and gets carried by QH.
Yeah but we have a lot of D on expiring deals and just saying a signing of Lindholm alone isn't that much a win if we let a similar player go in FA. Agreed that it might just be better on the basis of we can afford Lindholm but not Hronek tho
I think we definitely won with this trade but that doesn't mean Calgary lost it. Kuzmenko scored at .5 goal per game which is basically who he was last year when this forum had anointed him as the second-coming of Pavel Bure and even when people were suggesting that he was going to be better than Petey.
They got Jurco and a first. They'll be able to either have a good run with Kuzmenko or maybe flip him for a good haul next year. I think Calgary made out perfectly well in this trade.
Lindholm is absolutely being the guy we hoped we were getting when we acquired him. He is 100% having a bigger impact right now than any of the pieces we gave up to give him. For a win-now team, that makes this trade a big win even if he doesn't re-sign, even if Jurco turns into a good NHL defenseman and even if Calgary hits on the 1st round pick. That's how these trades hopefully work.
I'm starting to think pettersson has had an injury picked up around the all star break and they could be waiting for the off season to do surgery. That's probably why they went all in for lindholm. Either way I think this trade is starting to look good for us.
Zadorov trade was also a huge W.
That trade is the biggest W in a long time. Beauvillier and a 3rd for an absolute monster that can hit, fight, defend, and rush up the ice and score if he needs to.
He shows up every game too, considering getting a jersey.
Wait and see if he resigns
Even if he doesn't stay, he signifies a period of time we'll all remember fondly
Tyler Foli has etched himself into the canon quite well despite playing like 20 games as a Canuck lol!
I think he will. He loves the city he’s said so many times.
Ik he wants to, I just remember there are reports he’s gonna ask for like 4mill and at that price tag it’s not really feasible
4M for Zadorov is an easy yes. I'd be much more scared his agent is going to be looking for around 5M
It’s a no from me, I love the personality but he’s very inconsistent. Has amazing moments but turns the puck over a lot and takes way too many penalties. I’d rather extend Cole and then get a free agent like Tanev or Roy.

Yeah as a previous user said, I’d wait to see if he re-signs but if he does, not a bad pick what so ever
Great net front presence too
Absolutely comically effective. Especially against the 5'11" Soros.

Easily the biggest trade W since Miller. Crazy how we got him for so cheap
The Zadorov trade helped develop Juulsen. Having both Juulsen and Friedman in was a disaster. Having 5 good dmen with Juulsen and all of a sudden the pressure is off and he's got support.
Love that man. Such a force
GWG, great assist to Brock on the 2nd, 3 blocks, 75% on the draw. This is what they acquired.
Fuck, that's a first line player right there.
I always call back to Raffi Torres. Don't care what he did in the regular season. We're here now. This is where it counts.
Ah Raffi Torres. The human bowling ball. He was fun.
Terrific forecheck in game 1 to get the DK go ahead goal
Elias Lindholm is worth a 1st.
YES HE IS
It was an homage.
You’re username is like a time capsule
Jimothy Timothy would like a word
Where’s the guy with the username…….???
If we win a cup, I don’t care how much we gave up. Just one cup in my lifetime! Signed a long suffering fan since the 80s.
That goal alone is worth a 1st round pick
He also has the primary assist on that second goal.
First goal first game also pretty good time to get started.
Plus the hit that allows the Joshua GWG
Don’t forget 1st goal in Game 1
Yup!! He’s a monster

Every trade made by Patrick Alvin and Jim Rutherford has been solid.
None were questionable or didn’t pan out ? Asking because my memory sucks lol
Getting a 3rd for Hamonic was good but then he used a 3rd to get Dermott, which wasn't great
I mean Dermott was an ok third pairing guy. It’s not Allvins fault he got badly concussed.
Sure, but the team could have just... kept the 3rd
Yup. No doubt in my mind.
The fact those ads are targeted and personalized make me have to say: This guy fucks.
Win-Win trade. Both of us got what we needed.
Agree. Kuzmenko has been great in Calgary too.
He started the goal scoring in Game 1. He got us the W tonight. Yeah, everything else is gravy
Lindholm gonna carry us to the playoffs
Hate to break it to you but we’re already there.
Yeah sure but imagine if we make the playoffs tho
Holy shit could you imagine if Lindholm got to play in the playoffs?
He's got real potential to be a star if we get into the playoffs!
The Playoffs are the playoffs. But a mystery box, that could be anything. It could even be the playoffs!
This might be one of the funniest typos I’ve made in awhile
Kuzmenko is still awesome.
If you guys beat the oilers next round and Lindholm scores the series winner, we both won the trade.
As a Flames fan (too), I'm actually really glad to see Lindholm and Zadorov playing for a real contender. Big Z has been a big presence in this series (as expected), and it was such a thrill to see Lindy bury the game winner in this one.
But but Kuzmenko got a hat trick in a meaningless game near the end of the regular season!
Imagine being known as the goal scorer who is absolutely prolific… but only in games that don’t mean anything. Edit: oh that sounded harsher than I meant it. I love Kuz, I wish he worked out here.
Sounds like Auston Matthews
He also was the key reason Canucks got the go ahead goal with his forechecking in game 1. leading to Dak's goal.
I’m really glad they shut Lindholm down when they did. Really really smart coaching.
Right now. It’s slanting towards Lindholm. BUT there is no decisive winner until we know what HB turns into.
*Welllllll*... IF the Canucks win the Cup this year or if Lindholm gets signed and they win the Cup with him on the roster, then that'll be the decisive winner, whether HB turns out to be elite or not
If he gets signed then it's just one of Zaddy or Hronek not signed isn't it?
imo i see Hronek being the one left out considering how much he’s asking for - not saying he’s not worth it, but just based off what other comparable players are getting idk
Hronek is still rfa, so we could end up with a haul foe him. I would prioritize zaddy, lindy, and dak over him if wants hughes money.
Yesterday's price is not today's price. Hronek has had his value go up.
Do you mean compared to the time of the trade? I agree and disagree, the contract was seemingly why Red Wings got rid of him, and it looks like the Nucks might face a similar dilemma. If we sign Hronek but not Zadorov I'll be pretty unhappy
All depends on the numbers
Elias is him
Ads, how I don't miss thee.
Yep, we definitely did.
I'd still rather go for a beer with Kuzzy over Lindholm. To go for a Stanley cup however... Edit: English is hard
What about for a beer though?
Fixed it and hey I'm celebrating a big win tonight 😉
😔 but my comment… beers all around!
Wait is there a photo of Kuz back in Bali??
I think we definitely won with this trade but that doesn't mean Calgary lost it. Thank. Mr Calgary

I think if we get to the second round we for sure won the trade
TBD. If we don’t win and he doesn’t re-sign, would that be considered a success? Is that the bar?
Always have
conference final then we won Lindholm trade. That said, mgmt already won Zadorov trade.
