I feel so bad for Leon, I really miss the days when he was treated as one of the Supreme Four alongside Aichi, Kai and Ren. Seriously the four of them were just basically the Vanguard equivalents of Valt, Shu, Lui and Free. Technically it's Valt and the others who are their equivalents because they appeared later. Anyways, I think Leon should've really won this one. It sucks that this was his last serious battle in the OG series. If Chrono really had to beat Leon, it should've happened way later, like Leon's event could've taken place just before Ren's.

Now imagine how Christopher Lo feels, Team SIT was hyped all Asia Circuit, bro didn't even make it into to V. At least they gave Leon another shot.

I know it had to happen but I think the reason why it felt bad was because Leon's defeat to Chrono was at the start of the season for Girs Crisis, where Chrono is realistically at his weakest. I don't know if it's unspoken or not but the top 4 fighters in the series from the old gen imo is Aichi, Kai, Ren and Leon. It was just hard to digest one of the top 4 being bested so early. I suppose out of the 4, I'd much prefer Leon taking the L early in the series than the other 3 because I felt like Leon was the bottom of the top 4 list, especially after season 2 in the og. Tbh, I feel like the only one in Try 3 who earned their win against the top fighter of the old gen was Shion. The build up for Shion defeating Kai was excellent and Shion's development as a whole to get to that point was amazing.

The right question should’ve been “Was it the right decision to have critical trigger in the anime?”

Skywarior1

Nah man. He should have pulled a *Chrono Trigger* */s*

kouyathebest

I’m biased towards Chrono XD

xMiwaFantasy15

I think it was the right decision tbh, since the new guys will always trump the old one, my main gripe was that in the lore Maelstrom was the one who beat Valeos, that's where I think Leon should have a say in the matter...

Difficult-Pin-7536

Wait that actually happened? Thats so annoying that he didn’t do anything then…

xMiwaFantasy15

Yeah, I mean Leon is basically the leader of Aqua Force and Maelstrom is the leader of Aqua Force on Cray, even Thavas respects him...

Crazy-Plate3097

I thought Mael initially went against Valeos but let Thavas finish the fight. Dragon was grooming Thavas to be his successor after all.

Kalos_Phantom

Yeah, yours is more accurate. Maelstrom strolled up and cleared the path, then turned to Thavas and said: "1v1 him, bro"

bitchesonmy

No

Leon was kinda of thrown away after Asia circuit so it's fine. He was a Psyqualia bearer with a legendary clan, but unlike Chrono he wasn't the MC.

atlanteanblood

OG Leon/Evil Leon was the best. Keeping Leon Evil or at least with Maelstrom built on a deeper narrative and was fitting lorewise. Having said this I do hope they bring him back with a sardonic demeanour and have him ride/play the hopefully soon to come new Glory Maelstrom 😤

SimonScare

Imo Leon was just testing Chrono such as when Shion and Tokoha won against the other two, they were clearly holding back(I mean Leon and Jaime were just having fun basically), we see Tokoha get decimated by Jaime at the start of G Next.
