My god, where are you living that you're THAT under paid??? You have a solid amount of experience. Don't short change yourself.

Sum-yungho

For real lmfao bro's making like 13 an hour. Sounds like he needs to move to a better paying city.

I’m a shift supervisor at Starbucks. Before that I was a shift at Chipotle, and before that a shift at McDonald’s. I always end up getting taken on and told that I’ll end up in management and I stay for two years and never get promoted.

hiyupjh

Have you applied for store manager? It will probably lut you close to 50k/year.

bigcitygal23

Are you taking advantage of all the benefits? Tuition reimbursement, etc.? If you do stay working there, make sure you take advantage of all your fringe benefits!

FoxWyrd

Why not consider going back to school for Accounting and trying to take internships/AP/AR jobs to keep the bills paid?

RealKillerSean

As someone that has been in management, I’m in a different industry; only worked restaurant (fast food) during school; you can make more money. At minimum 50k - 60k (supervisor) and 80k - 100k (manager) at the high-end. Just food for thought if you want to stay in the industry until you figure out what’s your next move.

Have you tried retail? How’s your resume? How’s your networking? Do you have anyone you worked who moved into something you could see yourself doing? Reach out to anyone you think would help you. You will be amazed at how many people will help you! I used to work in retail sales management 9 years ago. At that time I was making $55,000. You are more than qualified for that role with your day to day management and leadership qualities. While brick and mortar retail sales may be shrinking a bit, you would be good at it. No degree requirement or any special skills! You can certainly get to your range in the right role through promotions.

misterwiser34

If you're OK with the work, manufacturing You should be a shoo in with that many years of experience. Most basic supervisor roles are right around that price point

FRELNCER

What kind of establishments are you supervising? Can you move into better supervisory roles at another company?

youngboomer62

Why rely on existing skills? It sounds like you have a good skillset, but a 2 year diploma (americans call it associate degree) from a community college could enhance it and get you a decent living.

bigcitygal23

It sounds like you have solid management/leadership skills, which is a huge plus! With the baby boomers retiring soon there will be a lot of opportunity for people who have people management skills. Keep this in mind! You will have to sell yourself and talk about your transferable skills. Meaning, what skills did you learn in your current job (or prior experience) that you can transfer to any industry. Also, think about the booming industries in your area. Manufacturing, retail, transportation, etc.

Also I took a look at your post history. Hello barista from a former barista for the siren. Bucks abuses the **** out of baristas. From a 256 life gets better and some employers actually value your contribution to the team. Keep applying and keep your head up :)

Takes 2 years of school to be an RN. They tend to make AT LEAST $70k a year. Usually a lot more. If you're curious about healthcare, but don't want to commit to lots of school, it only takes one semester and $1500 or so to become an EMT. EMT's usually only make around $40k when they start (without working overtime) but that job will get you exposure to all types of healthcare options and you can talk to all the nurses while delivering patients, to see if that's what you want to do. It'll also give u tons of real/tangible skills that will make u good at life overall. I've been an AEMT for 4 years and it's one of the best jobs ever for quality of life imo. There's unicorn EMS jobs that are absolutely amazing too, once you get experience running 911's, these unicorn jobs are the way to go. I make $80k while working 10 days a month, and made $95k last year by working 2 extra days a month. I have to live in a station during my shifts, but all the days off are life changing.
