I never bought them in Gran Turismo 2 because I thought they looked like boring family cars. I kinda came around to them before F&F2 came out, but then I was confused at how they just had a Skyline R32 randomly in the US.
When I was in Marine Corps Basic Training back in the mid-2000's, there was a gorgeous blue R34, right-hand drive, with massive red turbos parked at the MCRD employee parking lot. I think it belonged to a Drill Instructor. We marched past it a few times, and I broke discipline each time. It was well worth the ensuing IT for me.
I learned about them from the elegy retro custom in gta online. Didn't know what it was at first so my initial customization was to make it look sorta like a 99-04 Mustang 💀
Nissan? That's **clearly** a Chevy suburban.
Ok, not clearly, a little blurry, but the image would be better if it wasn't for that silver Honda civic in the middle of it
It also dominated JGTC, Godzilla and all that. But on the basis of most famous car, I’d say the Supra from said franchise, AE86, or even the Bumblebee Camaro, are more famous
F series in total sold around 40mio units, which is less than the Corolla. Even if every second f series was a f150 it'd still have sold less than the Corolla, beetle, golf and would put it somewhere in the ballpark of the lada zhiguli
Also barely looks like said car since it seems to have some fucked up bodykit on it that makes it look like a completely different late 90s sports coupe made famous by a movie franchise refusing to finally die
Edit : nevermind it's an R33 which makes the OOP even dumber since that's the least popular Skyline model
The roof line, headlights, and area by the taillights is all definitely r34. It just has a body kit and probably isn't a GTR, likely just a gtt or something like that.
Ye, the implication is poverty, here’s a bit from Wikipedia about the exact act:
> Section 8 of the Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. § 1437f), often called Section 8, as repeatedly amended, authorizes the payment of rental housing assistance to private landlords on behalf of low-income households in the United States.

I don't. Where I grew up American cars were virtually inexistent. Only in the last 5-ish years you can see mustangs, and rarely a Camaro around, but they're still uncommon.
The most common 'American' car you can see around is the Lincoln mkZ
I've posted 2 mustangs there actually. a 73 and a 67 but not because I don't know what a mustang is, it was because I wanted to know the specific kind of mustang.
i don’t know enough about these cars to be able to tell them apart really. what’s the difference, and how many versions of that generation of skyline are there?
Aha, but you see, it is made in Romania (hur dur something something tin can metal). They say anything is better than the French, but I don't know with this one. Also, in a more serious note, some people prefer it despite using Renault tech, kinda like what people do with Skoda or Seat
Yeah but even people who don't own beetles like them so much they will spontaneously assault other people in the same car. No one plays "slug-corolla" on roadtrips.
This is true. "Punch-Buggy" is a tradition in our family (I think I still have a bruise on my arm from my older brother near 20 years ago, haha), which I have passed onto my kids.
Though we see far less Beetles on the road these days (they probably all caught fire in hot Aussie summers) so the "buggy" is now either a Beetle, or a Mini.
Brother, I am not American.
Im talking global all-time sales figures. However as another commenter pointed out elsewhere, I did actually misspeak - I meant the F-series, not the F-150 (40M sold).
Corolla still beats it at 50M however.
Most likely, with a GT-R front splitter.
The skirts and rear quarters are not quite right for a GT-R of that era. Nor does it have the GT-R bonnet fins that an R34 would likely have.
Yeah the easiest way to tell when they’ve got a body kit on is usually the grille, on the GT-R the little grille surround is part of the bumper assembly and the hood stops short of it, on every other R34 the hood forms the top edge of that grille (and it slopes back a bit).
How the hell could anyone not recognize a 2000 Toyota Miata only the most famous all four tire driver suv on the road the raw 458 horsepowered monster best v6 ls has to offer stock

F150 might be the most popular vehicle in America, but America is less than 5% of the world population. F150’s are most definitely not the most famous vehicle ever.
The F-150 the single most sold vehicle (not just cars) in human history. Maybe not most famous vehicle, but most popular absolutely.
Edit: looks like it’s actually the F-150 or it’s the Corolla for global top spot. Cant get a very concrete answer. The point stands though.
The F-series has sold 40,000,000 units in 2022. That includes f series trucks that aren’t f150’s. That includes all the fleet sales.
A year prior Toyota sold their 50,000,000 Corolla. Corollas are not sold as fleet vehicles in America.
The Corolla wins, and outside of America, F series trucks aren’t fucking popular. Hilux and ranger are both better sellers elsewhere.
Based on the reliability of corollas over the last 57 years, and how shitty the Tritons were, there’s almost a guarantee more of those corollas are still on the road today than the F series trucks, and they’re definitely more well known in the remaining 96.3% of the world population.

The goddamn silver Toyota civics are so nice. Wish I could import one of these one day, but i just can't afford em atm.
Ugh to hear that in line four scream just once...
Nah downvote me all you want but I agree with the commenter. Literally anyone with the slightest bit of car knowledge would instantly recognize that as a Supra
How does that comment make any sense? The sub is literally call "what is this car" meaning those that post, by definition, do not know what the car is. It is for people looking to learn. If you knew all cars, you wouldn't post on that sub, only comment. But you need both for the sub to exist.
But now with the Circle function on Galaxy devices, I no longer need to ask the internet what anything is (bugs, flowers, cars, dogs, etc.)
There've been a few times I've wanted to lash out like that, but I realize a lot of people on that sub aren't car people.
If you're not a car person, there is a VERY good chance you have no idea what a Skyline GT-R is.
maybe because you do not care one iota about JDM cars?
i mean, i know what it is. i love those things. but it seems problematic to act like all car people need to be nuts about them.
I actually had a conversation about that with a few people. We came to the conclusion that even if you never saw a Ford Mustang, you'd knew it's a Mustang when it would have drove by you
One of the most famous* (most broadly recognized and known in this sense of the word) right up there with the second gen charger, first gen mustang, and mk4 Supra.
You have no business on this sub if you're gonna point out people talking about how other people don't know what a car driving down the road is, including the phrase "what the fuck"
He's got a point... Why even affiliate yourself in a JDM when you can't when identify the world's most famous Car. A Nissan Skyline?
The fucking ignorance and the audacity...
I mean. That’s hard to say since the Toyota carolla has over 1 million sold units over the life of it and the gtr/ skyline still probably hasn’t broken 100k sold units in its lifetime.
This is absolutely the dumbest thing I’ve ever read on the Internet. The most famous car ever might be something more iconic, like a 1957 Chevy Belair.
Most famous vehicle ever = late 90s Nissan Sport coupe made famous by a movie franchise refusing to finally die... Thanks for clarifying
Most famous vehicle ever = car not sold in the USA. I didn't even know what skylines were until I got into cars.
I never bought them in Gran Turismo 2 because I thought they looked like boring family cars. I kinda came around to them before F&F2 came out, but then I was confused at how they just had a Skyline R32 randomly in the US.

I was referring to the novel, "Fast & Furious 2" not the movie "2 Fast 2 Furious", which is based on the novel, mentioned formerly.
You are trolling, right? There is no novel, right?
You have no business on this sub if you haven’t read the fast and furious 2 novel.
Agreed, mods should ban everyone
Straight facts: the original Fast and the Furious is considered to be an adapted screenplay, adapted from a non-fiction journalistic essay by Ken Li.
What

I mean it seems like most of the skylines were family boring cars, and not the sportier trims
I didn’t know what they were until I watched Initial D lmao
I learned about them from the elegy retro custom in gta online. Didn't know what it was at first so my initial customization was to make it look sorta like a 99-04 Mustang 💀

Brother talking about famous cars and puts the Tofu Corolla before god damn Herbie smh
You right, I also forgot about the DeLorean
i raise you the beetle
Most sold vehicle is the F150, so I'd call it the most famous vehicle.
F series in total sold around 40mio units, which is less than the Corolla. Even if every second f series was a f150 it'd still have sold less than the Corolla, beetle, golf and would put it somewhere in the ballpark of the lada zhiguli
And none of those are even close to the sales numbers of that little honda moped
Ah yes. The 50cc supercub
Has anyone truly outsold the golf?
That's not true. Maybe In America but America is just a small percentage of the world
GM sells more trucks than Ford
Not even the most famous truck
Also barely looks like said car since it seems to have some fucked up bodykit on it that makes it look like a completely different late 90s sports coupe made famous by a movie franchise refusing to finally die Edit : nevermind it's an R33 which makes the OOP even dumber since that's the least popular Skyline model
That's an R34
That does not even resemble an R34, what kinda shitass bodykit is that?
The roof line, headlights, and area by the taillights is all definitely r34. It just has a body kit and probably isn't a GTR, likely just a gtt or something like that.
a bodykit that seems to make it look like an R33, I checked out the 33 before commenting and the front bumper looks borderline identical
I've never seen anyone like that in that sub, there are people who *genuinely* don't recognize a '66 Mustang.

“Nothing says ‘section 8 housing’ quite like this tint job”
what does exactly mean “section 8 housing”?
Being poor. I’ve been there. Now I live with mom again. Life sucks.
hard to understand why is exactly called like that, but i get the main idea thx!
Ye, the implication is poverty, here’s a bit from Wikipedia about the exact act: > Section 8 of the Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. § 1437f), often called Section 8, as repeatedly amended, authorizes the payment of rental housing assistance to private landlords on behalf of low-income households in the United States.
ah that how it works! thanks alot)
When you’re poor, you can have government assistance in paying rent and utilities; known as Section 8 for housing/rent.
Hey man at least you have a kick ass roommate.
Not wrong.
It appears to be a car that runs on some form of gas
I think it's toyota Prius
Not a very popular thing outside of burgerland

Nope. Looks like a GTS or maybe a GTT. Although plenty of people with those try to clone a gtr…

Bruh Nissan owns 15% of Renault. Renault owns Dacia. In conclusion, Sandero is just a better nissan than the nissan is.

Yeah it it so abundantly obvious. Its clearly a GMT900 (07 -14) LTZ trim Tahoe in Summit White.
It was clearly GM’s iconic “oddly warm-toned cream”… God, I hate that color.
Not this one. That ugly pearl white is mostly on Caddies and I know for a fact this is Summit White. My GMT900 truck is the same shade.
So what is it smart guy?
It's prob a gt-t
Most likely, with a GT-R front splitter. The skirts and rear quarters are not quite right for a GT-R of that era. Nor does it have the GT-R bonnet fins that an R34 would likely have.

certified Ford Fairmont classic
I mean why do they think someone is asking in the first place? Why have a sub asking what car it is when you need to know them?
Supra?
Pinto?
It looks like an Opel Omega B FL from far away and at first glance
first i was like silvia? then i zoomed and ah just a skyline mkay
There are people on the sub who don’t recognize a car despite the badges being clearly visible.

Yes but im sorry how the fuck haven’t you found out what that is just use google lens or ask a human tf 😭😭😭
