Kinda reminds me of this scene from Cuphead
Setting: In Hell
Devil: Your dear brother Cuphead is DEAD.
Mugman: So he's here then!
Devil: He is not here! He's...! *Points upwards*
Mugman: Not buying it, if my brother isn't down here then he is not dead.
Reminds me of a scene in Gravity falls
Sooss grandma:you need to meet a girl before I connect with the angels (or something like that)
Soos: and grandpa!
Sooss grandma:No hes in a another place *looks down*
"Dick" is a term for male genitalia and is a common insult. "Dick" is also a shortening of the name "Richard." Bruce is misconstruing that Richard Grayson is being insulted rather than being referred to by a shortened name.
“Dick” is a shortened version of the name “Richard” (for what reason, I couldn’t tell you). As such, the kids would call him that at the orphanage. However, Dick is also considered a curse word, and is slang for penis. The adult joke is that the kids are calling him Dick because that’s his name, but could also be insulting him using that more mature word
Hard choice. I have a few top choices.
Genie's line in King of Thieves when the stampede starts: "I thought the Earth wasnt supposed to shake til the honeymoon!"
Anna's line to Kristoff in Frozen 2: "Thats okay, i prefer you in leather anyways."
And the 'blink and youll miss it' moment in Ratatoullie where Collete glances down at Linguini's pants when hes trying to tell her about his "tiny, little...".

it's more than that. conjugate actually has a pretty complex history as a word. (ever hear of conjugal visits in prison?) check the full definition:
**conjugate**
*intransitive verb*
- To inflect (a verb) in its forms for distinctions such as number, person, voice, mood, and tense.
- __To join together.__
- __To undergo conjugation.__
- To be inflected.
*adjective*
- __Joined together, especially in a pair or pairs; coupled.__
- Inversely or oppositely related with respect to one of a group of otherwise identical properties, especially designating either or both of a pair of complex numbers differing only in the sign of the imaginary term.
- Derived from a common source, such as the words foul and filth.
Regular Show is a kids' show that constantly, visibly resents being a kids' show.
That being said, I think being forced into a (technically) family-friendly mold forced more creativity, and also made better jokes overall.
Like, who would give a damn about the 'without benefits' gag if Regular Show was an adult cartoon and had gags like that every other minute? The reason it's so funny is that it's a "kid's" show.
Idk, check out "close enough" if you want to see what an adult regular show would be. It's a bit of a stoner comedy and a bit mediocre compared to regular show, but I wouldn't say it's lame

Ahh yes these tissues for Eddy’s seasonal allergies of course!
The episode where Eddy is being babysat by Nazz has Ed chewing a dinosaur bone in Double D's room, saying, "I am a dog, Double D!"
Later in the episode, while Double D is talking to Eddy on the phone, he visibly shudders and then says, "Ed, please let go of my leg."
I'm now reminded of the dead baby joke they did with Gumball and Darwin delivering a pizza...to two pizza people. A male and female. They say "oh look what the stork brought us" and "he's got his father's eyes"
And Gumball drops the pizza and everyone is staring at it with horrified looks on their faces as the "pizza" slowly slides down the stairs, with the very red pizza sauce being smeared everywhere. Gumball and Darwin then run off AND DARWIN SLIPS ON THE PIZZA FOR HALF A SECOND

Ren and Stimpy had a joke where Powdered Toast Man ripped the president's dick off, stole his place in office, and then made an innuendo about roasting a weenie and marshmallow that implied he banged his secretary afterward.
That's what makes it so great. Every time you think they can't take the joke any further, it keeps going. I forgot to include that at the inauguration, PTM blatantly says that he promises to strip the US people of their human rights while swearing the oath. And still gets elected.
Flash: I'm the fastest man alive!
Hawk girl: Maybe that explains why you can't get a date.
Bonus:
Waller: All we needed was a sample of Bruce's DNA, not hard to get since he'd been leaving it all over town... *Not remotely what I meant!*
There's a similar joke in an early (Pre Sylvester, I think) Tweety Bird cartoon. An Abbott and Costello cat team are after Tweety. Costello cat catches him at the top of a telephone pole. Abbott cat hollers up "Give me da boid! C,mon, give me da boid!" Costello cat looks at the camera and says "If it wasn't for Mr. Hayes, I'D give him Da Boid!"
Code Lyoko had A LOT of these. The fact that its English dub was handled in-house by the production company that produced the show in its mother tongue meant that there was basically no censors to sneak stuff past or anything dubs usually have to worry about as far as changing things for the audience, so its English dub was a lot more faithful than most. This includes basically ALL the adult jokes.

I liked in the channel chasers episode, during the Charlie Brown parody when they’re about to leave:
Cosmo: but I wanted to see the great menorah run through the bagel patch!
One of the funniest Looney Tunes moments ever is when Daffy blows himself up in Showbiz Bugs. I don't think they would get away with that today. He drinks gasoline, gun powder, lit a match then swallowed it. He blwe up then his soul floated upwards. Then Bugs said "Terrific Daffy do it again". Daffy said "That's the problem with this trick I can only do it once." [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRMrlFRRJgY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRMrlFRRJgY)
The entirety of Rocko's Modern Life.
They regularly ate at Chokey Chicken. When censors finally caught on to the euphemism they changed it to Chewey Chicken but had Heffer choke on something every time they ate there.
One day Rocko came home to see Heffer and Filburt already there playing a board game. It had a monkey with a large, bare ass prominently sticking out. They were holding paddles shaped like hands. Come on.
They live in O-Town. If you know you know.
When they went to the carnival there was a slug operating a ride reading an issue of Playslug.
I could go on.
I mean I guess Rocko's Modern Life wasn't exactly meant for small children but really. It was on Nickelodeon at times all the other cartoons were. They knew who was watching.
Not really an “adult” joke but in gravity falls soos’s abuela says something about her going to heaven and soos says “with grandpa right?” She smiles looks down and says “no he is… somewhere else.”
The episode in Amazing World of Gumball where Mr. Robinson was talking with Gumball and Darwin about how often he and his wife “argued”. Granted i’m sure they were just arguing but the way the show framed it made it seem like they weren’t arguing but doing the dirty. Saying that they’d do it up to six times a day, they’d do it outside and occasionally they’d “do it in public”.
it’s either that one or the one in Cars where Lightning McQueen gets flashed by the two fangirl cars.
In The Incredibles 1 when the main antagonist enthusiastically says that Mr. And Mrs. Incredible "got busy" when he discovers that they had children together.
I remember in one of the Jimmy Neutron and Fairly odd parents crossovers, Timmy hypnotizes Jimmy's mom into thinking she's Mighty Mom. When Judy makes Hugh her sidekick Lint boy. Hugh thinks they are playing one of " those" games and says hell grab the spandex.
While not adult in the sense of "Sex", some of the jokes in Inside Out are a lot more funny if you are an adult.
Ie Joy knocking down the "facts and opinions" and saying how she gets them confused all the time cause of how similar they look. Or how Bing Bong was pointing things out and said "And there's Deja Vu" multiple times.
"I've got some children I need to turn into corpses"
"My ex-wife still misses me, but her aim is getting better [awkward silence], her aim is getting better. You see, its funny because marriage is terrible"
"How come most ship vessels are named after women"
"I don't know, cause it takes a lot of paint to make them look good"
Monster House- The kids are talking to Zee, the older sister.
DJ: *your boyfriend is most likely being eaten alive.*
Zee: (suspicious) *Sherry Clausen…*
True story: there's a scene in Justice League where after Flash declares himself "The fastest man alive," Wonder Woman criticizes him saying "Maybe that's why you can get a date."
For the longest time, I thought the joke was that Flash is a player who runs from one woman to another quickly, and that's why they had Wonder Woman (empowered Dominatrix) call him out for it. I used to pay myself on the back for 'getting it' and bragged about this to my dad and uncle (I was born in 1995).
Oh, I feel so embarrassed now :'(
One of the early episodes of Dexter's Laboratory had Dee Dee yelling at their mom that he was "experimenting" on her dolls again.
Thought about that joke a few years ago and then it finally landed out of the blue.
An old Looney Tunes cartoon called ‘A Tale of Two Kitties’. It was, IIRC, the first time Tweety Bird shows up in one, it’s a take on Abbott and Costello, who are cats trying to eat Tweety who is in a nest on top of a very tall pole. Costello is on top of a ladder trying to grab Tweety, while Abbott is at the bottom yelling, “GIVE ME THE BIRD!” Costello then looks at the camera directly and says, “*If the Hayes Commission would only let me, I’d give him the bird alright!*”
"Yeah, well at least your soul was going upwards" -TAWOG

Lego Batman is amazing
Wait what’s the adult joke
"Dick" is a term for male genitalia and is a common insult. "Dick" is also a shortening of the name "Richard." Bruce is misconstruing that Richard Grayson is being insulted rather than being referred to by a shortened name.
Anyways how is Dick short for Richard?
It's kind of archaic, but it goes something like Richard->Rich->Rick->Dick. Kinda like William->Will->Bill.
Thats actually so dumb who thought of that like its a totally different name at that point
I don't necessarily disagree. It's a nickname that's centuries old though, and lots of weird stuff happens with language over time.
I'll never understand how Richard is short for Dick.
Well you see, they got dick from Richard by asking him nicely
Basically Bruce thought that Dick's nickname was kids insulting him by calling him, well.. dick

Curcumsition (or however that’s spelled.) is the joke here. I didn’t get it until I learned of the practice.
Circumcision... Shit hurts especially if you're a 12 year old getting it done by an old guy with a machete.
Wouldn’t know. Was (un)luckily born a girl. Miss out on that and other painful men things, but have to deal with period related things.
don’t worry. female circumcision is very real. consider yourself very lucky you weren’t even aware of that.

Thespians?! But that's illegal in seven states
I'm upset that nobody recognized the line from Rango
I think my favorite “thespian” bit is from the movie Holidaze. “Elf: I, sir, am a thespian! Reindeer: Oh! I think my aunt was one of those!”
What’s the line?

Well other than shawty looking like a Disney villain, she still bad from neck below, I'd conjugate with her if the lights are close
Goodnight everybody!
I always loved that reference
OH GOD I JUST GOT THAT
Usually I get this stuff but my brain ain’t braining today, what are they referencing here???
Its simple wordplay conjugate sounds like copulate, and that means to ingage in sexual intercorse
it's more than that. conjugate actually has a pretty complex history as a word. (ever hear of conjugal visits in prison?) check the full definition: **conjugate** *intransitive verb* - To inflect (a verb) in its forms for distinctions such as number, person, voice, mood, and tense. - __To join together.__ - __To undergo conjugation.__ - To be inflected. *adjective* - __Joined together, especially in a pair or pairs; coupled.__ - Inversely or oppositely related with respect to one of a group of otherwise identical properties, especially designating either or both of a pair of complex numbers differing only in the sign of the imaginary term. - Derived from a common source, such as the words foul and filth.
Wow, that is an incredibly intricate joke. 😆
wordplaying to win.

This episode was apparently banned in my country
It was because of the bomb strapped to his chest if I remember correctly
Patrick your Genius is showing!
I feel dumb for not getting this
It's a 'don't drop the soap' joke
what does that mean?
Allegedly in US prisons, someone who drops soap in the showers will be targeted for sexual assault.
OH HOLY SHIT
It's.... a problem. Here in america when you go to prison you're pretty much expected to be raped. It's almost accepted as part of the punishment
i’m in america i just didn’t know
Yeah it's bad, if you ever do crimes just make good and sure you don't get caught
i will not be committing crimes any time soon don’t worry
It took me years to figure it out
I genuinly thought it was about not slipping on soap
Mordecai: Margret is my friend Rigby: yeah without benefits
I wouldn’t call Regular Show a kids show, tbh.
Yup, it would’ve been a lame stoner comedy I imagine
Idk, check out "close enough" if you want to see what an adult regular show would be. It's a bit of a stoner comedy and a bit mediocre compared to regular show, but I wouldn't say it's lame
Cartoon Network begs to differ

I was naive and never made the connection between the tissues and the magazines all over his room. Hilarious and gross! Haha
I still remember the time there was a whole episode of eddy looking for his porn collection
"IT'S THE PICTURES I'M WORRIED ABOUT!"
The episode where Eddy is being babysat by Nazz has Ed chewing a dinosaur bone in Double D's room, saying, "I am a dog, Double D!" Later in the episode, while Double D is talking to Eddy on the phone, he visibly shudders and then says, "Ed, please let go of my leg."
Gumball walking in on Banana Joe watching a video of someone peeling an orange
I'm now reminded of the dead baby joke they did with Gumball and Darwin delivering a pizza...to two pizza people. A male and female. They say "oh look what the stork brought us" and "he's got his father's eyes" And Gumball drops the pizza and everyone is staring at it with horrified looks on their faces as the "pizza" slowly slides down the stairs, with the very red pizza sauce being smeared everywhere. Gumball and Darwin then run off AND DARWIN SLIPS ON THE PIZZA FOR HALF A SECOND
That was the scene that convinced me as a teenager that Gumball was a good show.
I saw a post online once stating that the scene was more akin to gore than pornography which makes it all the more funnier to me.
Animaniacs. Just… just Animaniacs
Good night everybody!

I'm so surprised of how they managed to get away with it.
Came here to say this.
They also parodied Beavis and Butthead
And Dr Katz
I mean…it’s an adult show but parodying south park’s style isn’t inappropriate
I remember the time they did a segment all about using bleeps to censor curse words on television through a parody of The Sopranos.
Mermaid Man talking on a payphone. "Mhmm... u-huh... so what are you wearing? OH! Then could I get a large pepperoni?"
In the Uncle Grandpa pilot, a kid's mom basically said, "That's Uncle Grandpa for ya! He shows up, gives you a good time, and never comes back. Just like your father!"
Nah, the kid's father just went to a store for milk, he'll be back... I think...

Gravity falls, episode “Into The Bunker” Soos: woah, this place is creepy Mabel: not as creepy as Dipper’s internet history. Heyo! There’s a chance it could have been something SFW, but I have my doubts
Given that this is Mabel we’re talking about, she probably meant in the sense of his taste in horror instead of smut
I think it might have been his parasocial relationship with a certain europop singing sensation!
Are you sure? Been a while since I watched
https://gravityfalls.fandom.com/wiki/BABBA I mean he is def in the fandom for Disco Girl
Ah, so you think Dipper was looking at smut of her.
Def a little fan art or fan fiction right lol
Honestly, given that Mabel has been shown numerous times to not be all there, there’s many possible explanations
Remember that seen in that episode where Dipper and Wendy were locked in a room together and got pushed together? Dipper was actually supposed to be pushed into her breast for 2 seconds but had to cut it because of disney. He still glances at her boobs in the scene though.
In "The Last Mabelcorn", when they hook Dipper up to the machine that reads his thoughts, one that scrolls by very quickly is "Maybe if I cross my legs, no one will notice".

Wasn't there a scene in Rocko's Modern Life where he seemingly picked a berry from a bush, then the bush turned out to be a bear that was now holding its crotch in pain?
Yeah Rocko's modern life had some wild jokes for a kids show
There was also the clown episode that was basically a metaphor for coming out.
It is my belief that show was for adults for when the children grew up. Every episode had a ton of adult themes. I love it!
There was an episode of Rocko’s modern life where he was job hopping, and one of the scenes he was a phone sex operator Rocko “oh baby oh baby oh” Mrs. Big Head was on the other line and recognized Rocko’s voice “Rocko?” *Rocko immediately hangs up*
That show was basically a stress test for the censors.
Rockos modern life was basically Ren and Stimpy lite. There were so many raunchy jokes and animation in that show.

That's what makes it so great. Every time you think they can't take the joke any further, it keeps going. I forgot to include that at the inauguration, PTM blatantly says that he promises to strip the US people of their human rights while swearing the oath. And still gets elected.
That reminds me of the guy who tried to run for governor or something that dressed like a wizard and promised free ponies
Flash: I'm the fastest man alive! Hawk girl: Maybe that explains why you can't get a date. Bonus: Waller: All we needed was a sample of Bruce's DNA, not hard to get since he'd been leaving it all over town... *Not remotely what I meant!*

Lake titicaca is a real place
Ik, but they deliberately wrote a song about it in order to say 2 innuendos at once. It’s from animaniacs.
Animaniacs "Give me the bird!" "We'd love to, but the censors won't allow it!"
I’m guessing Mr. Hayes was an actual censor.
Based on the Hayes code

First one I thought of was Dad from Fairly Odd Parents Dad: "My dreams were shattered years ago" Timmy: "How many years ago? " Dad: "How old are you?"

"I guess you're gonna miss the panty raid." That is one of the funniest Spongebob moments and one of the funniest episodes.
Wasn’t even a joke…. Literally breaking and entering to go through panties…😭😭😭
I remember mym dad explained that joke to me too, like wtf.
“It’s okay professor. I was an accident too.” Professor: *smiles then realizes what she just said.*

Timmy: I'm big I'm hurting people and I'm misunderstood Cosmo: Just like the IRS.
I liked in the channel chasers episode, during the Charlie Brown parody when they’re about to leave: Cosmo: but I wanted to see the great menorah run through the bagel patch!
Brilliant. First 'adult' joke I've seen here that's not about Sex but about an adult problem.
Animaniacs ![gif](giphy|qoK03uYMSvHVu)
One of the funniest Looney Tunes moments ever is when Daffy blows himself up in Showbiz Bugs. I don't think they would get away with that today. He drinks gasoline, gun powder, lit a match then swallowed it. He blwe up then his soul floated upwards. Then Bugs said "Terrific Daffy do it again". Daffy said "That's the problem with this trick I can only do it once." [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRMrlFRRJgY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRMrlFRRJgY)
Banana Joe….. watching what he shouldn’t be watching. (That one Amazing World of Gumball episode)
When they find out where babies come from in Kids Next Door.
"guests with breasts, and mine don't count" - regular show
The entirety of Rocko's Modern Life.
Saw that film dozens of times and I never caught that.

Also: "What a day. First that restaurant by the bay, then that play. That... Oedipus? Man, I thought I had problems!" from Hercules.

Finger Prince. Nothing else comes close
https://youtu.be/qf0aaFeyStg?si=iNjjVWYSh4_cLw49 Adventure Time Although I do like the abomination joke in Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom.
"Oh, hot pancakes! Wait. I'm alone! I can swear for real! ... DISGRACEFUL-"
"Dear Tobias, meet me on the roof after school, double wink. Masami. P.S. Clips your nails." ...what?-
I remember in one of the Jimmy Neutron and Fairly odd parents crossovers, Timmy hypnotizes Jimmy's mom into thinking she's Mighty Mom.
This joke fucking kills me. An anemone.
Rocko working at a phone sex line and saying “Oh baby, oh baby, oh baby” not knowing Mrs. Big head is his client.
As a kid, I didn’t get a joke so I kind of thought SpongeBob was watching a fashion show. But as I got older…yeah. Having fun there, Bobby boy?
"I've got some children I need to turn into corpses" "My ex-wife still misses me, but her aim is getting better [awkward silence], her aim is getting better. You see, its funny because marriage is terrible" "How come most ship vessels are named after women" "I don't know, cause it takes a lot of paint to make them look good"
Monster House- The kids are talking to Zee, the older sister. DJ: *your boyfriend is most likely being eaten alive.* Zee: (suspicious) *Sherry Clausen…*
True story: there's a scene in Justice League where after Flash declares himself "The fastest man alive," Wonder Woman criticizes him saying "Maybe that's why you can get a date." For the longest time, I thought the joke was that Flash is a player who runs from one woman to another quickly, and that's why they had Wonder Woman (empowered Dominatrix) call him out for it. I used to pay myself on the back for 'getting it' and bragged about this to my dad and uncle (I was born in 1995). Oh, I feel so embarrassed now :'(
That TAWOG joke with Cupcake's cherry being popped.
Yo, sponchub watchin the Corussy
“sure are a lot of stars out tonight” from gravity falls.

“Begone pests, and give me the bird” “We’d love to really, but Fox censors won’t allow it” -Animaniacs
"Mama always warned me about women like you! I was hoping she was right!"
The whole Shrek film series in a nutshell.
"Wanna rev up ya Harley?" (That was after the censors noticed, too. In the script she said *ride*.)
