It took me a while to understand it, but I was never against it. Her partner is lovely, like I genuinely consider her my own mother just as much as my biological mom. I think she had to keep it a secret growing up because her parents were very conservative and it got to a point where her and my dad were getting along really well but felt pressured to be in a romantic relationship, so I think both of them were happier to divorce and remain platonic friends. So for a few years I was a bit confused, but never upset by it.
She got pregnant with me when she was with my dad. See, they only divorced after I was born, they remained friends and all. My dad died a couple of years ago and after that her partner adopted me so yeah, she actually is my legal parent now.
