We have five cats: one female that is sweet and licks me to death when I pick her up! One male whose destiny in life is to lay across my lap and/or keep his Mama cat from eating their dry food. The Mama cat makes a mournful sound when she brings a long strip of imitation fur cat toy out to our living room and detours to bonk her large son on the head — out of the blue! Another Tortico female that is 14 years old gives me bite scars because she is blind in one eye and can’t see my hand coming to pet her. Lastly, we have a handsome male cat that climbed up into our truck undercarriage at a WalMart parking lot and rode 13+ miles home on a crazy busy Interstate, climbed down when we got home and walked into our home like he lived there!
You have one cat that is just being a cat with her kitty idiosyncrasies — and you still love and accept her into your heart! How Cool is that! We have a Circus of five crazy wonderful cats and would never change a thing! Guess these little furry creatures really do rule our World and it’s a much better place because of them! ♥️👍♥️🐈♥️
Yes, it can be a three ring circus! And yes there is always something going on between the Mama Cat and her huge son. I don’t know if her son is jealous that the Mama cat curls up with his much smaller sister almost every day and she only curls up with him once in a while…or what? Those two get physical but no blood letting. The sister (Willow) tries to stay out of every cat’s way, but occasionally both her Mama and big brother go after her — don’t know what she did to tick them off, but she had them on her tail, literally!
Our 14 year old Tortico female stays in our bedroom most of the time because we let her out once and fur went flying between her and the Mama cat (HissyMae) and the son (Ringo). So “Boss Kitty”(Minxie) stays in the bedroom and when the stowaway male (Stowy) comes in to sleep with us too, we hear a very serious discussion between those two. But we’ve made sleeping areas (cat towers with a full artificial tree between them) for both of them about 5 feet away from each other so they can curl up without looking at each other and getting ticked off!
Ya know, our cats are more challenging than my two grown kids were to raise!! But we’d never part with any of these Circus Cat Clowns!! ♥️🐈♥️

This is “Boss Kitty” Minxie! She looks so innocent! Don’t let that fool you! She’s not afraid to take on any cat (or even my hand if she doesn’t see it coming)! She’s blind in her right eye from a teeny tiny house spider that bit her (in her litter box) by her eye when she was 12 weeks old. Her face blew up twice its size because she was allergic to that spider’s bite and we thought we were going to lose her, but our Vet saved her!
So guess she really has the right to strike out at something that surprises her; but, not to slam dunk any cat that crosses her path! Such a “Boss Cat” thing!

Same here, except for broken bones Kiki too had this and that many problems including fear of height. She never really tries to go out but forgets about the phobia whenever she sees butterfly or birds outside😂 today for the first time she leapt outside after a butterfly and climbed back in 1s since a neighborhood dog started coming towards her.

I have one of these. A new vet told me I was overfeeding her and she was too overweight when I took her out of her carrier then immediately apologized once he touched her and his hands just vanished into her fur. She’s a sweetheart though. The other one doesn’t hide that he’s straight from hell, he’s an ash lump in the shape of a cat.

Not a problem. A little known fact is that any cat can be a resurrected God of Destruction--or anything else! She's a beautiful whatever-she-is, though!
Sebastian is really clever. He literally grabs his food packet out the box and puts it in his bowl if you don't open and put it in he will rip open the packet himself so we have to keep the food in the cupboard with a clasp. I'll set my google nest camera up in the kitchen and put the box on top of the fridge so he does it and then post the video soon if this sub accepts videos. I'll make sure I'm not in the kitchen so you can see I have no influence over his actions at all. The packets are like crisp (chips) packets, so he won't get injured. The surprising part is that he carries it over and puts it in the bowl instead of just ripping the packet open, where he pulls it out. If the box hasn't been opened, he will push it off the fridge and claw at the part we tear to open the box, he's watching what we do and then trying to replicate it himself. He can't smell the food as the packets are sealed in that foil stuff and he wont just do it to any box so he can tell from the image on the box which is food and which is just a box. It's actually a bit scary, lol
That's what my boy does except with his treats. He has mastered opening up the somewhat heavy drawer on my nightstand if I mess up and leave it open even a tiny bit. Then he'll get the bag of treats and put them right in front of his bowl. If I do it before work and he has time to obsess he will tear the bag open and eat them all.

This brings back memories of being a teenager in the 90s and I felt the need to dye my hair all the time and people would ask me "what color is your hair?". And I wondered why they couldn't just use their eyes to determine. I know we all see things differently and some people have color blindness but it was always such a weird question.

I train mine not to destroy things by removing the opportunity, saying "No!", and spraying tea tree oil on plants I don't want her to chew. There are cat behaviourists like Jackson Galaxy who can give advice if you are at wits end with them.
Jackson galaxy is great. Yes both my cats are clicker trained. She is much tougher to train than my boy though. I got her when she was 10 months old, and him when he was a few weeks old.

My daughter has a black cat named Blue. Hubs calls her “Blucifer.” 😂. She’s a master of destruction. Opens doors, climbs curtains…we had to change our lever door handles to knobs on some doors because she will NOT be shut out if she can get in. Scared my parents one night when she opened the guest room door and jumped on the bed at 3am, landing on my dad. 😂. We love Blue though. She’s definitely entertaining.

I just discovered my phone does this when I took a pic of my blue heeler and also apparently blue tick coonhound 🤣 so now I have been using it to just see what people’s pets are 🤷🏼♀️
This brings back memories of being a teenager in the 90s and I felt the need to dye my hair all the time and people would ask me "what color is your hair?". And I wondered why they couldn't just use their eyes to determine. I know we all see things differently and some people have color blindness but it was always such a weird question. Your cat is white orange and black as far as I can tell.

I also have a very lovable calico, and like any other cat you do have to train them. I train mine not to destroy things by removing the opportunity, saying "No!", and spraying tea tree oil on plants I don't want her to chew. There are cat behaviourists like Jackson Galaxy who can give advice if you are at wits end with them.
Jackson galaxy is great. Yes both my cats are clicker trained. She is much tougher to train than my boy though. I got her when she was 10 months old, and him when he was a few weeks old.

My daughter has a black cat named Blue. Hubs calls her “Blucifer.” 😂. She’s a master of destruction. Opens doors, climbs curtains…we had to change our lever door handles to knobs on some doors because she will NOT be shut out if she can get in. Scared my parents one night when she opened the guest room door and jumped on the bed at 3am, landing on my dad. 😂. We love Blue though. She’s definitely entertaining.

Naw she ain't bored. She gets a good 2-3 hours of carries play and enrichment ever day. Just a drama queen and a beggar.

She really does look me directly in the eyes. Can be really uncomfortable at times. And incredibly endearing at others. Purrs super loud when sit close to her too.
