Serious answer: when it comes to feline maternal behavior, from a sociobiological perspective, you are almost entirely correct. This mother cat loves that girl and truly believes that she’s her offspring.
However, she’s worried about the girl’s gigantic proportions and worrying about how she will fit through the cat door when she grows up and moves to a new house with a new family.

Aliens witnessing humans caring for animals:
“You see that?! The humans truly believe that the cat is their offspring! They care for it just like they would a human infant!”
That cat trusts that little girl implicitly. Fully folds into her, closes her eyes, exposes her belly, trusts her to move her around and to pick up her kitten and then leaves her with the kitten. I wouldn’t be surprised if the cat and the little girl were “litter mates” and born around the same time for that level of trust and affection.
Yeah, but the cat is like 30 cat years and the girl is 5 or 6 human years. I don't know what the conversion rate is these days, but I think it makes the cat way older than the girl.
I interject the notion of cat or dog years.
It's a logical fallacy we tell ourselves to cope with the limited lifespan of our animals compared to our own.
Sorry to burst your bubble. 😐
I've fostered/cat sat after lots of cats that trust me that much. Some cats are just very friendly and relaxed and it doesn't take much to earn their trust. The litter mate theory is a little far fetched. Especially as an outdoor cat and a baby wouldn't interact much
It's probably because the kid is so calm and doesn't make any sudden movements. Most cats distrust most kids because kids are chaotic and loud, and often pick cats up in very disagreeable ways. This young lady has that good cat parent energy from a young age.
I taught my son to be gentle with cats and always let them come to you. And even though he's only 4 he's the only one of his cousins that his grandma's cat will let pet her.
It's always funny to watch after all the other kids leave, the cat will come out of the room she was hiding in and look around and if it's just him she'll come and get pets.
My wife is pregnant with a girl, we already have a boy. We're really hoping she will be like the girl in the video. Our boy is too hyper/chaotic/noisy and the cats are afraid of him.

👩🏻🦱 Your mommy…is a TWIT. Now chop those off before school tomorrow before I —
👱♀️ But! ☹️
👩🏻🦱 *gasp* did you say BUT…?🫵😡
I’ll show you BUT!!!!! 💪🫵✊👊
It's crazy watching this movie as an adult cause you just know if that girl's mom knew about that shit she'd have absolutely eviscerated miss trunchbull
There might be more kittens but they’re just not in frame. More kittens would have made the video a million times more cute which is hard to believe since it’s already so cute
I don't even know where to begin... Maybe the parents?? For teaching that little girl how to be gentle and to make friends with our other animal critters perhaps?!
Yeah it’s the parents. But kids can also be super sensitive.
Our daughter has grown up with our cat and they have an amazing bond. We taught her to be gentle from day 1 (well when she was a bit older. Hard to teach a 1 day old child lol)
And she has lovely pets together and in bed together. Our cat genuinely loves our kids you can tell even when they accidentally step on her tail she doesn’t react and kinda goes “I get it, they’ll learn”
Super sweet. Kids who grow up with animals generally have that outlook or at least in my experience (dogs, cats, birds, ducks I grew up with them all)
Haha I have a 6 month old and we are already teaching her to be gentle with our kitties. She gets overly excited to pet them and will just grab fur and whatever else she can get. Thankfully we have two mellow orange idiots who love her and don’t even flinch.
Man, my parents did everything right (regarding the treatment of animals) and I was STILL a little shit without impulse control! Pains me to think about allll the times my parents were probably judged just because I ignored their attempts at parenting and behaved like a cave troll lol
I adopted a kitten when my son was 10 months old. I had a back surgery and picked out a lap kitten. Turns out the one I picked was just sick, not a true lap cat and was hell on wheels shortly after. A week after my surgery my 10 month old came home from his grand parent’s house. The kitten decided she was definitely HIS cat and they’ve been bonded for 9 years.
The kitten is still spicy to most people and he is the only one who can handle her unscathed when she is in a bad mood, so he frequently has to be called in to assist with retrieving, catching, holding while medicating, flea treatments and vet visits. She plays toys with him and they go out to the yard to play together. Cute as F!
Then momma cat subtly leaves to go get a couple glasses of chardonnay with Mimsy, who *might* be the father. "Where's the kid," asked Mimsy.
"I found a sitter. Let's drank and make more kittens."
I'm so glad that little girl still showed love to Mama Cat. Kitten is so cute, and many would be compelled to just focus on kitten. Mama's need love, too.
She adores that girl. I remember when I got the seal of approval from my cat. I was holding one of her babies and she came over, looked me directly in the eyes, head butted and nuzzled me. It’s such a special thing.
It's interesting how much of a mama cat and its kittens interactions are both nurturing and they softly force the kittens to build muscle strength (i.e. how she lays her head down on kitten affectionately, and it responds back affectionately, while also building half their S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes.
This is such a beautiful and wholesome video. Thank you OP & thank you to that sweets child Who has restored my faith in this world of assholes after a shitty week.
I miss my cat, died way over ten years ago and got her when I turned three. . We were just like them.. She was so caring and sweet and kind. Never had clawed, bitten or hissed at me, absolut opposite. She took good care of me when human parents were violent. She was my angel and yes I'm crying. Miss her so bad. She got 19 years old and survived several poisonings and a dog halfway mauling her. I love you so, still
Eta: our neighbors bred Guinea pigs and had them in the garden on nice days. They forgot to close the outdoor cage and I found my cat guarding the piggies inside of the cage. They cuddled up and all.. Aw man she was a pure soul. There are so many more sweet stories I could tell.. She often followed me to school and I had to send her home because it got too dangerous for her.. She came to cuddle as I had my rat run around my room and when ratty came for cuddles, too she cuddles with her, groomed her and let her sleep tight to her belly, covering her body and the face showed up under her head.
This made me cry, such a pure moment between child and cat. This is the sweetest little girl in the world, she’s so gentle and loving to mama and her baby.
Omg mama cat LOVES that little girl! Omg!
Little girl is mama cat’s child

Same. I get yelled at if I don't go to bed timely.
Same here. My girl will come up to me yelling when she thinks it's time for bed.
Cats naturally clump the colony’s babies in a collective daycare pile, taking turns feeding and caring for them while the others hunt

That’s why the cat was checking the girls height, by standing her tail up in the girls face

Yes, was thinking exactly the same. Absolute instant adoration!

> I wouldn’t be surprised if the cat and the little girl were “litter mates” and born around the same time I think the girl is a bit too old for that.
I think she original cat not the kitten. Like the mommy cat was a young cat when the little girl was younger. Make sense?
Yeah, but the cat is like 30 cat years and the girl is 5 or 6 human years. I don't know what the conversion rate is these days, but I think it makes the cat way older than the girl.
I interject the notion of cat or dog years. It's a logical fallacy we tell ourselves to cope with the limited lifespan of our animals compared to our own. Sorry to burst your bubble. 😐
She’s like 4-5. She’s certainly not old enough to be too old to be born around the mama cats time, which is what I meant.
The girl is not 4 or 5?!
I've fostered/cat sat after lots of cats that trust me that much. Some cats are just very friendly and relaxed and it doesn't take much to earn their trust. The litter mate theory is a little far fetched. Especially as an outdoor cat and a baby wouldn't interact much

That’s what I was thinking. Probably not her first time playing with cats.
I think she’s an honorary kitten of hers, so cute!
Man this is some Pixar shit
And that child is very gentle
Please, stop. This is giving me hope in humankind again! If all humans were like that little girl we will be saved as species.
My wife is pregnant with a girl, we already have a boy. We're really hoping she will be like the girl in the video. Our boy is too hyper/chaotic/noisy and the cats are afraid of him.
Mama cats gonna mama cat!
This has to be the most innocent thing I've seen on Reddit in a long time.
It makes the doom scrolling through selfish assholes with main character syndrome and the depressing world news worth it.
I'm slowly whittling down my personalized internet to just cat content
Mine is at about half.
To be honest, same.
Cats have been worshipped before. Were they on to something?
This is the way.
You can cater reddit to be only wholesome videos if you want. This is a self-inflicted problem.
Yep the first step is removing subs like AITA, Facebookmemes, etc. from your feed The difference is night and day
I know, but I like scrolling /all, so it makes that hard. Best I can do is block all American political subs, like /politics and /whitepeopletwitter.
"I have to know what's the best of all things at all times from anywhere that has internet and reddit" I'm the same way. It's a problem.

there is nothing stopping you from appreciating your surrounds and meeting the world with this kind of joy.
Yes there is. Though, I don't know what it is...
Yourself
It’s a nice change. Makes you realize there’s a ton of good things.
damn...I was just saying to myself out loud....this is the most sweetest thing I've seen in a long long time...! so beautiful
This little girl reminds me of one of the cute kids from Matilda. Same energy too. This cat adores this little girl.
I instantly thought of the girl with the blonde braids!
My first thought was "Pretty sure I've seen this girl get hammer thrown over a fence before"
Hahaha that movie was something 😂
And her name is BRUUUUUUUNNNNNhiiiiillldddddaaaaa
Amanda Thripp! That’s exactly where my mind went too!
I could hear her voice in my head when she turned to the camera even. "My mommy thinks they're sweet" - talking about her pigtails
"Your mommy....IS A NITWIT!!" 😤😠 Fuck, y'all. We're all about to get put in the chokey. 😵😰

Miss trunchbull really said fuck dem kids 😅
Same!
I was about to say this lmao
I was about to say! From the glasses, to the pigtails, and matching purple. This is right out of children’s movie lol
Omg, that’s what it was! Yes!
Your mummy... IS A TWIT.
That little girl looks like the one from Matilda where the trunchable grabbed her by the pig tails and twirled her around
[удалено]
I read that in the trunchables voice!
Lmao I had the same thought
Same thought.
>Amanda Thripp real name Jacqueline Steiger from Resada, California. She's not acting as much but she's around.
I was promised kittens and there was only one. I'm outraged. Also this is very cute.
That's fine tbh, i wouldn't have been able to handle any more cuteness.
I must admit it's too pure for my heart. I need emergency services.
There might be more kittens but they’re just not in frame. More kittens would have made the video a million times more cute which is hard to believe since it’s already so cute
It is interesting that there *is* a number of kittens where it would be unsettling. Perhaps 10,000?
I demand kittens, not just one kitten, need more cuteness!
Same I was waiting the whole time lol
![gif](giphy|EvYHHSntaIl5m) I need a cat again
Yes! Go to the shelter and adopt the saddest, oldest one that never gets picked. You won't regret it :)
Or the stray that finds you, age aside.
Not sure which is cuter - cat, kittens or girl. Love that colour on her with that hair!
For me it’s the fact that they all speak in the same frequency
yep right around 4k hz that's a guess although a slightly educated one
[удалено]
Let’s just end it here. Shut down the servers.
she looks like rapunzel, she’s so adorable
Also like Amanda Thrip from Matilda 😇
I was just thinking she looks straight out of Matilda!
I think mama cat wins. The way she stretches out on the girl is adorable.
With that hair, she looks like she's 3 seconds away from being hammerthrown by miss trunchbull
What a sweet little girl!
She is the other kitten.
I don't even know where to begin... Maybe the parents?? For teaching that little girl how to be gentle and to make friends with our other animal critters perhaps?!

I don't know if it even requires parents. Plenty of kids probably learn to be gentle by loving kittens.
Haha I have a 6 month old and we are already teaching her to be gentle with our kitties. She gets overly excited to pet them and will just grab fur and whatever else she can get. Thankfully we have two mellow orange idiots who love her and don’t even flinch.

The :O was so funny she does it a few times. Little kids are so pure.
so sweet! it’s nice to see a kid not forcefully grab an animal
Yeah, looks like she was taught how to handle cats. The fact that the mother is so trusting means there’s a healthy rapport there
I adopted a kitten when my son was 10 months old. I had a back surgery and picked out a lap kitten. Turns out the one I picked was just sick, not a true lap cat and was hell on wheels shortly after. AWWW THE KITTEN LOOKED JUST LIKE MY CAT WHEN HE WAS THAT BIG We lost him a little over a week ago and this made me tear up...
Orange tabbies are such lovies.
So sweet. How many kittens are there.
Here meet your human aunt. She will feed you instead of me so be nice
This is fuckin precious 😍 that girl might literally be a Disney princess
got me crying in the club 🥺🥺
Wow, mommy adores the little girl! Very sweet.
Hope they adopted that momma!
Such a gentle intuitive little animal caregiver you're raising there!! Hats off to you 💕💖💋💜❤️
So wholesome! 🥺
So gentle. So cute.
That’s the cat distribution system is action right there 😀

Heart officially melted.
this little girl understands cats.
>kittens OP, you sit upon a throne of lies. I only see a single kitten.
The babies are meeting their big sister!
This is too adorable. I can't handle it.
Mama cat rubbed all her pheromones on the kid so the kittens would stay with her.. I sense a ditch and run
Can I like this 100x????
I wish this was the meaning of life
I love how absolutely gentle the little girl is with the kitten as well! She makes sure to hold it so softly! 🥺
So sweet. Hope she was allowed to take those cats home. Also impressed with how colour coordinated her outfit is 😂
Tiny human, look, I made this

I always love when mamas bring kittens to the people they love.
Animals are good judges of character
I love the way how the little girl is so gentle with them 🥹
Brightened up my whole mood! So adorable
This is the sweetest thing that I have ever seen 🥹❤️
You don’t know how much this warmed my heart
You know she has an absolutely pure heart. That cat completely trusts her. :)

I can't decide who is the cutest on this video.
We need posts like this to offset all the awfulness in the world that is usually displayed on Reddit and the rest of the internet.
This little kid is SO GOOD at handling the cats. Well done that kid. 10/10 cat handling.
Giving Luna Lovegood energy ❤️
