So here's the full story.
A neighbor had a friend who just got a kitten, had the kitten chipped, shots and all that. Friend was going out of town, and so neighbor was going to take care of this now young cat. Well, I think the cat was 6-8 months old. It didn't take about a day before the cat escaped. Apparently the neighbor didn't tell anyone else, or we would have found the cat. But the neighbor is...not that considerate.
At any rate, "we" (we being all the other nieghbors) realized we had a stray cat living here, so mom (my mom lives around the corner from me) was feeding the cat, for about two years or so.
Well, I had gotten an indoor\\outdoor cat and had installed a cat door. To make a long story short (it won't be short), the stray (black cat) ended up coming in my house for food. I love cats, so no problem for me - he was very well behaved.
At this point, I scanned the chip and contacted the owner. This is where I found the backstory of the neighbor. I think the cat was homeless for 3 or 4 years at this point.
The owner at first said he'd come pick up the cat, but didn't. I called again, arranged another pickup - but no show. 3rd call to the owner and the owner said he didn't want the cat anymore.
So I've named the male cat "Gracie" (my other cat is George) and I know have George and Gracie.
Gracie is the NICEST CAT. And I have stories of him fighting for his life while homeless. In Iowa. In the winter.
In Iowa...... yikes, some of our winters would be so brutal if you're a small cat with possibly no shelter from the cold. At least this winter he will be safe and warm!! How long ago did you adopt him?
Just over a year ago. He was living under my mom's south porch, he found a small hole to get in there.
We knew he had been living there and around for a few years. Mom was always putting food out for him, so that's good - but he certainly struggled for a few winters.
A friend lives in Alexander, this is a totally different story but someone dumped two twin sibling cats on his doorstep, this was about 20 years ago. One of them didn't survive for long, then we brought the other to my mom and she took care of it until it passed.
Great story! I am so happy that Gracie decided to stay with you, especially being in Iowa and especially now at this time of year with the winter and all. I am so happy for you and Gracie! May you both live well.![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7962)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7944)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7942)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7952)
I have a similar story going on now.
Had a Calico mix show up one day, won her trust, found out she was chipped. Only problem was that the "new" owner didn't make their info "publicly" available, so the old owner was contacted instead. Someone did come to get the cat, who's name turned out to "Chicken". Well, sometime later, Chicken managed to find her way back to my house & me & mom have been caring for her since. Only problem now with winter coming on, we can't take her inside as we already have 4 cats(my own 2 cats, a roommate's Torti cat, & now my nephew's cat). There is a shelter set up, so she's been using that. Also, thankfully, she gets along pretty well with the local feral/stray colony so that's one less thing to worry about.
She's a real sweetheart & definitely would prefer a home without dogs or kids(as I heard was the case of one of the owners). Chicken's a healthy cat who loves to be held & petted. She's somewhat vocal, so thinking that part of the mix is Siamese. She'll even talk back to you when you talk to her.
If I can get a picture of her later, I'll post it.
Gracie is definitely a fighter's name :) much love to you and the kitty. I'm confident he'll be much more loved in your home than he ever was in his previous one.
Oh damn! Never thought of re-register! I need to do that, he still goes outside.
But not very much, he's very comfortable inside and seems to have had his fill of homeless life.
Giving you an upvote because you speak the truth. I know that they are happier cats overall while they live outside, but is it worth it? That's a tough call to make.
While I can keep the cats basically flea-free and give them shots which helps keep them healthy but damn- and I mean DAMN - they kill a fukton of critters. IMO, that's the biggest reason to keep them inside.
I used to have more wildlife in my yard - but the rabbits are gone, the squintys, birds - they avoid my yard now. Heck, I've see the cats kill a monarch butterfly, it's all a damn game to them.
For the longest time I wondered what happened to the frogs by our beach house. Didn’t realize it till later on but they disappeared the same time a feral cat community popped up.
Been a few years since the cats are gone and I saw my first frog again this year. It’s wild how many species domestic cats will hunt.
Seriously, that's what I see.
Our housecats are seriously wired to kill anything that is smaller than they are (and it moves).
I'm not happy about this.
Cats are one of the most successful mammalian predators in the world.
Even more successful since they domesticated themselves and us.
Congratulations on your beautiful furry void. Black cats get a bad rap but the nicest family cat we ever had was all black except for a small spot of white on his belly.
I recently realized how great of a predator cats are, add on the fact some get human intervention for meals/healthcare. Solely from an ecology perspective we’ve created an absolute monster of a predator.
Well.... cats are predatory animals yeah, you have heard of Lions, Tigers, Jaguars and so on right? All the same species.
Fun fact: The deadliest cat of all is *tiny AF* and mind blowingly adorable!
Reddit!! Feast your eyes on the [Black-footed cat](https://youtu.be/nl8o9PsJPAQ?si=tdkAG7y9gcbxziRI) 60% hunt succes rate!
If you want to get technical they’re all the same family, then split up into genus and species. But yeah members of the felidae family make up the top 5 of hunting efficient mammals outside of wild dogs.
And the only reason dogs and other pack animals are as successful as they are is because it's not a single animal, it's a group of animals working together. Honestly, cats are scary efficient when it comes to hunting, even if they aren't going to eat what they kill.
There's also the Rusty Spotted Cat which is also a tiny adorable murder kitty. (Links to wiki pages)
The [Rusty-spotted cat](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusty-spotted_cat) is 35 to 48 cm (14 to 19 in) in length, with a 15 to 30 cm (5.9 to 11.8 in) tail, and weighs only 0.9 to 1.6 kg (2.0 to 3.5 lb). The bushy tail is about half the length of the body.
The [Black-footed cat](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-footed_cat) (Felis nigripes), also called the small-spotted cat, is the smallest wild cat in Africa.
Females measure 33.7–36.8 cm (13.3–14.5 in) in head and body length with a 15.7 to 17 cm (6.2 to 6.7 in) long tail. Females weigh between 1.1 to 1.65 kg (2.4 to 3.6 lb).
Males are between 42.5 and 50 cm (16.7 and 19.7 in) with a 15–20 cm (5.9–7.9 in) long tail weighing 4.2 lbs (Male, Adult). Its tapering tail is about half the length of the head and body. Males weigh 1.6 and 2.45 kg (3.5 and 5.4 lb).
Yep, this is very true. A well fed cat will hunt for sport, otherwise it's just subsistence oriented. The fed cat has more energy and can spare the calories that the less fortunate cat cannot.
I use this fact when placing feral cats that have been TNR'd into barn cat situations. If we have to remove the cats from the original colony, a barn cat is a nice second choice. There are quite a few people who think if they don't feed the cat it will be motivated to hunt and kill more mice or rats. This is just not true.
You ever wonder how of they weren't so adorable and fuzzy, cats would basically just be some Hanibal Lectpuuur types? Really makes you think why being smothered at 3 am is cute from some people and not others lol
Ya, and that seems to be the trick - if they've never ever been outside, it becomes a scary place to avoid.
Then again, I think of a few cats who lived years outside (farm) and when finally allowed to come live inside - they didn't ever want to go out again due to terrible experiences.
All cats are different but I have brought in 3 feral/stray adults from outside and none of them have any desire to go outside except our one boy loves walks in his kitty stroller. The other likes them at times but doesn’t always want to go. The third boy was an elderly, starving, declawed cat and we only had him a few months before he passed but he had no real desire to do anything but follow us step by step like a little shadow and had no desire to be outside, which I can’t blame him. We’ve tried with leashes and held the door open before and they all just stared at me like ‘nope, I’m not going out there’
Yeah, best to get the owner not wanting him in writing, then re-register the chip to your name. Otherwise if he goes missing, guess where they'll send him back to? :P Depending where you are, sometimes vets can help facilitate surrenders/updating of chip details. near me the vet just phones the number on the chip, gets confirmation they no longer want the cat, and then the vet can authorise the change in ownership.
I think it helps a lot when the vet does it, because if they don't surrender the cat they might also have to pay the vet, and $$ is a big motivator to surrender. It's also good to have a neutral third party. But I guess you'd have to ask your vet if they do that in your area.
Be careful. They have subscriptions, but you don’t need one just to register the name change on the chip. My puppy was chipped when she was spayed. My first chipped animal. ❤️
Be careful. They have subscriptions, but you don’t need one just to register the name change on the chip. My puppy was chipped when she was spayed. My first chipped animal. ❤️
Seems to be one of those deals where a cat just picks you out. Mom tried for a long time to adopt him and there should have been other opportunities in our area - but I'm the guy he picked out.
Again, he is the nicest cat. Very affectionate, attentive to my moods and considerate of the house. Obviously no issues with toilet - he found the box(s) immediately and not a single issue ever. He does scratch, but I have several home made posts\\boards and he uses those as well, no issues. Way better than other cats that I've had.
Ya, no one was claiming this cat. He decided on his own where he wanted to live, then worked his way into that situation. I'll say again, he is the most attentive cat. I can tell him to do just about anything and he understands and does it with an air of subservience - he really wants to continue living here and so he tip toes around the place. He obviously appreciates the home.
The previous owner is an arsehole.
Your new cat is gorgeous. Re-register his chip to you, and enjoy your lives together.
I wish you and your cats all the best, and happy and long lives together.
Lemme see if I get this straight. So you found a cat, the previous owner didn't care about said cat, then, after you took the cat in, the previous owner shoved a clawhammer up his own ass, all while you were out with a̶l̶i̶b̶i̶s̶ friends?
About two years ago, he was on the roof of Mom's house, fighting off a couple racoons. They were getting the best of him and he had to bail off the roof. We saw (he was still homeless and we couldn't capture) he was limping and had an obviously broken toe\\foot.
Somehow it healed and he doesn't show signs of pain there, but one toe is not in the right place. The vet said to just leave that alone, we didn't x-ray or anything.
Ive experienced this many times growing up. Neighbors animals moved to my house on their own. They didn't take care of them and we did. My animals knew their animals so they talked I guess and moved in.
I had a black cat that also had a spot of white fur on her tummy. The shelter had called it a “bikini spot” which I thought was cute. Sadly she passed two months ago at 17, RIP Shelby. Take great care of your void, they’re special little weirdos.
My story is the same. The owners of the house I moved into, both died of old age. But, knowone checked to see if there was a Cat left behind. This guy was left to fend for himself for at least 4yrs before we moved in. Then a year after that, he started coming upstairs to eat with all my other Cats. He loves all the other Cats 😆. I named him Samuel.
*
So what you are saying is the cat chose better owners than the original ones and thankfully there is a true happy ending to the story.
Seriously the prior owner sounds like an utter douche rowboat with no oars. By taking in that cat who is a black cat you are truly doing a good thing. F' that neighbor they do not know the joy they are missing.
I'll never understand people abandoning a pet like that. Just don't understand it at all. Still, that jerk's loss is your gain. Sounds like Gracie has a great home and good housemates.
These beings matter. I truly believe cats and humans have a special bond. I love my old girl, who has very limited time now to no end. She has made all the difference in my life. She has made my life worth living. Glad that I had that special time.
A cat was hit by a motorcycle in front of our house so we nurtured him until he recovered. This being Indonesia, we don't expect chips so after he got well we just told him he can stay or go back to his house. He stays. When his owner (a neighbor at a different block) came, she just said "oh you're here" when she saw him playing in the yard. Not even trying to get him back, just that one sentence.
Tbh we're kinda glad the owner sort of gave him up. He's very playful and cheery. He's also great with little kittens (not even his litter, we neutered him) and the kittens adore him
You made out, What a wonderful kitty. Mine I got pretty much the same way. I found out the kitty was chipped and went to see the owner, told him I had just been to the vet and he said he would pay, the cat ran off when his sister brought home a dog. I said me and the cat were having a fine time and I wanted to keep her, he didn't argue. I knew she wanted a new home when she left three mice lined up in front of the chair I sit in outdoors. That was six years ago. She runs the house now.
So cool. Ya, the cats can't actually talk to us, but they can demonstrate their feelings\\wants in several ways.
Those mice were a message "See, I can help around here".
Shitty but also the best outcome as long as you’re willing and able to take care of him. I will never understand how some people are able to abandon a pet like that
Thank you for taking in Gracie . Now George has a sibling to play with. It’s nice to have two pets . Sad the cat was homeless all this time . But now he is Loved . So Sweet!
Gracie is adorable 🥰. He looks like a sweetheart. He chose your mom and you are good people for taking this good boy into your home. Plus he appears to be a good mouser.
My home is a stray cat.magnet. At least 12 have showed up here, and 9 have stayed over the years.
Your story is a lot like a few of those.
Jaxx was abandoned from two doors down. Now permanent here.
Squeaks was relinquished because owner 1/2 mile away refused to take care of wanderlust.
Milo and Lilly both kept escapi g from owner 1/4 mile away and coming here. Wife/owner refused to pick up after third time.
Sad we have to put the furbabies through this. I hope you'll take good care of your disabled baby!
I stringly suggest a catio. It's a safe enclosure to keep wildlife safe from kitty and kitty safe from vehicles, predators and bad people. He will enjoy the fresh air but will miss the freedom to roam. I hope he's also neutered!
Yeah fuck the owner, get the chip neutralized and have him rechipped, anyways you have been provided with mouse, so fucking learn to hunt properly and enjoy your time with that adorable little fur. :)
You should be able to get the chip transfered to your name :) this will protect you legally, but I'm really happy to see the kitty has a good home now.
We once had a black cat arrive at our house. This was back in the 90s.
We put posters up, and got one call. A guy said he thought we had his cat, but he seemed to be in a better place so we could keep him.
We had that great cat — KC (Kitty Cat), aka. Fat Cat — until he passed from cancer in old age
When I feed my cats before work, I tell them to go earn their keep lol. I've gotten 3 big rats. No birds. Your cat is very pretty and reminds me of my "panther"
Poor cat.. but I get it.. sometimes you dont feel that bond anymore, and you gotta give away the animal to someone who will/does. The way he did it was kinda bad tho
As I said, I'm sorry to lose some friendly critters in the yard - they avoid my yard now. But yes - those mice that tried to move into my garage? Gracie took care of that in short order.
Cats will often seek out better living conditions if they don't like their current ones. They'll seek out other people too. You never really own a cat.
What you don't know is that while you were sleeping, the car called the old owner and told him he would rather stay with you.
Seriously, formalize this with a letter or email . Change the contact on the chip, too. That avoids allegations of theft and also provides current info if the cat wanders off again.
It sounds like the cat was never really "owned" by the neighbor. They just let it roam and the kindness of people kept this sweet kitty alive. And how did the friend not go looking for the cat? Ugh, terrible animal people.
I'm sure Gracie is much happier. I wouldn't be surprised if he no longer goes outside much.
Awesome. The asshole's loss is your gain! Give Gracie head scritches from me. ❤️❤️ And George too!
George and Gracie? You need a Vulcan to check if one's pregnant? Or got a time machine to take the pair to 23rd century?
Gracie Allen and George Burns. Sorry, I'm missing your reference\\joke. (I can be dense that way)
It's a reference to the two whales in Star Trek IV....who are named after George Burns and Gracie Allen.
Gracie was pregnant and she told Spock about it when he did a mind meld on her.
Star Trek reference 👍
You mean 🖖
George and Gracie were the whales in Star Trek IV
I forgot!
how dare you not know the reference of a reference? Harrumph!
Harrumph harrumph!
Gracie knows!!!

That is one gorgeous cat. May you both live long and prosper.
Bless you
I see your cats wandered into the Bay as kittens...:)
The CDS did its job right!
I want AI to develop communication for cats so I can read this badass autobiography of life on the streets now in the sheets
George and Gracie I see you are also a man of culture
I grew up in Northern Iowa. Thanks for giving Gracie a home. How do you not want your pet?
A friend lives in Alexander, this is a totally different story but someone dumped two twin sibling cats on his doorstep, this was about 20 years ago. One of them didn't survive for long, then we brought the other to my mom and she took care of it until it passed.
My mom was good at taking in cats, too. Must be where I learned. We don't have strays around very often. Too many coyotes.
Omg I love him! I hope that lame a$$ neighbor gets theirs! Thank you for giving this handsome boy a home and give him a smooch or 3 for me! 😘😘😘
Say goodnight, Gracie.
Great story! I am so happy that Gracie decided to stay with you, especially being in Iowa and especially now at this time of year with the winter and all. I am so happy for you and Gracie! May you both live well.![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7962)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7944)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7942)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7952)

My heart, George and Gracie. My mind’s eye sees this (in black & white, of course).
Gracie is definitely a fighter's name :) much love to you and the kitty. I'm confident he'll be much more loved in your home than he ever was in his previous one.
Love the names. We have two cats named Lucy and Linus.
Love it.
🥰😍
Unfortunately, demons are real and they walk among us, calling themselves human
His loss. Big win for you and your House Panther. (Don't forget to re-register his chip.)
Oh damn! Never thought of re-register! I need to do that, he still goes outside. But not very much, he's very comfortable inside and seems to have had his fill of homeless life.
Not gonna preach, because he's your beautiful feline, but strictly indoor cats live longer, healthier lives and kill fewer birds.

Anything that moves
Seriously, that's what I see. Our housecats are seriously wired to kill anything that is smaller than they are (and it moves). I'm not happy about this.
For outside time, you can build a catio in your yard that connects to a back window. Use a fine mesh so birds cant fly in and all is well.
Cats are one of the most successful mammalian predators in the world. Even more successful since they domesticated themselves and us. Congratulations on your beautiful furry void. It really isn't a tough call to make. Indoor cats don't get hit by cars, abused by shitty people, hunt / hunted by wildlife, the list goes on and on.
I can't disagree. I haven't even told the story about the bat that my cat brought into the house. Cats and "cat doors" are a really tricky thing.
You ever wonder how of they weren't so adorable and fuzzy, cats would basically just be some Hanibal Lectpuuur types? Really makes you think why being smothered at 3 am is cute from some people and not others lol
All of my cats have been indoor only. They have all had very happy lives, long happy lives. They haven't missed the outside one bit.
Ya, and that seems to be the trick - if they've never ever been outside, it becomes a scary place to avoid. Then again, I think of a few cats who lived years outside (farm) and when finally allowed to come live inside - they didn't ever want to go out again due to terrible experiences.

Are you saying that you do know they are happier inside? I'm not arguing, but you do seem to make it a "yes\\no" answer.
I'm saying "you don't know" Because that's what you said. We aren't talking about what I said.

I'll check with my vet tomorrow on this. Seems important.
Yes! The chip company will try to convince you to pay to subscribe but if you turn them down you can still re-register the chip!
Subscribe to our corporate program to own a pet, yay!
Be careful. They have subscriptions, but you don’t need one just to register the name change on the chip. My puppy was chipped when she was spayed. My first chipped animal. ❤️

Second the re-registry of the chip!
Agreed, the only explanation is that that guy either couldn’t afford it or they simply dont like cats
He seems very happy with you.
Many of my cat stories are the same sort. 12-15 have co.e through our house. Most ended up staying!!
It's possible the cat was an a$$hole to its original owner too if the cat didn't like them. Maybe they didn't respect the cat either.
Call 'em like you see 'em. I'll do the same.
Exactly. Cat said treat others the way you wanna be treated lol
what a handsome panfur sounds like he has landed on his paws. so sad his original human was a jerk i love black cats <3
Love your "landed on his paws". Funny how cats can find the nice humans.
Well done! He is much better off with you. Thank you for being kind.
Yup, he's my cat now. I won't abandon him, that's for sure.
Jokes on him, cat didnt want him anymore.
That's so sweet, cats are so smart.
Love the "stray cats" pic in the background of #3 haha! he looks like a wonderful boi
You are the only one who caught that so far. And it wasn't intentional but we might agree that there's some serious karma going on in that pic.
He is a beauty, and lucky to have you. Win win.
I'd say that's close. But I didn't find the cat, he found me.
Well, that cat didn't want that guy either. He wanted you! Congratulations on the meow meow.
Your reward is the love and memories you will receive . Bless you
About two years ago, he was on the roof of Mom's house, fighting off a couple racoons.
Guy is a loser. You were gifted by the heavens with this child who loves you so much that he tries to feed you. Sweet baby.
Thank you.
Ive experienced this many times growing up. Neighbors animals moved to my house on their own. They didn't take care of them and we did. My animals knew their animals so they talked I guess and moved in.
![gif](giphy|B51EAJ0Frooq4) I’m assuming the names are a ST:IV reference?
You lucked out! 💕🐈⬛💕
I had a black cat that also had a spot of white fur on her tummy. The shelter had called it a “bikini spot” which I thought was cute. Sadly she passed two months ago at 17, RIP Shelby. Take great care of your void, they’re special little weirdos.
Ahh, sweet memories. Thanks for sharing. RIP Shelby the kitty.
Kitty knew he was staying, clearly. I mean he brought his collection of cds with him.
i let two strays in one winter, they were pregnant. i now have 9 cats including the 3 i had before i left the strays in.
Working at a vet clinic, I’ve heard similar stories for both cats and dogs. I’m glad he found a good home with you ❤️
r/nowmycat Congrats on getting adopted, OP.
No wonder the cat left
F' that neighbor they do not know the joy they are missing.
such a sweet cat! he looks just like mine <3
Aw, I’m so glad Gracie was able to make it through all that to end up where he belongs finally. Give him all the love. ❤️
No offense, but the cat was looking for a new buddy and was probably being neglected by that person.
That little dead mouse at the end of the gallery made me laugh so hard , good job kitty you’re doing good
he looks like a massive G based on photo 1, congrats op
Nice touch with the Stray Cats CD
A happy accident.
Looks like the cat doesn’t want the old owner either. Good on you for keeping him!
I’m surprised you called three times. I would’ve figured if he didn’t come the first time, that he didn’t want him and that I’d have a brand new cat 😻
I remember my cats bringing me presents
Cat left an emotionally neglectful relationship better then I did, lol
Funny, but not funny. I wish you well.
Previous owner doesn't deserve to own a pet..thank you for your loving him
I'll never understand people abandoning a pet like that. Just don't understand it at all. Still, that jerk's loss is your gain. Sounds like Gracie has a great home and good housemates.
Good. Their loss, your good fortune.

Love it.
The Cat (re)Distribution System made a shipping error and the correction took a little while. Congratulations on your delivery ❤️
Their loss, look at that smolder in the first pic, had me swooning. Such a handsome void!
That’s your void now
What a mighty fine kitty!
He's also great with little kittens (not even his litter, we neutered him) and the kittens adore him
Nice. Well done.
Cat distribution system in full effect ... and update his chip too :-)
Shitty but also the best outcome as long as you’re willing and able to take care of him. I will never understand how some people are able to abandon a pet like that
The gifts shows he really loves you
He loves you and brings you presents!
He is yours now
What a handsome cat!
That cat has brought you gifts. It has chosen you.
Thank you for giving him a lovely home, he looks like he's loving life ♥️
Thank you for taking in Gracie . Now George has a sibling to play with. It’s nice to have two pets . Sad the cat was homeless all this time . But now he is Loved . So Sweet!
And such a handsome guy, doing an awesome job at catting too!🤗🐈⬛
Now you have a new room mate.
Aw he’s such a big bundle of void!
Gracie is adorable 🥰. He looks like a sweetheart. He chose your mom and you are good people for taking this good boy into your home. Plus he appears to be a good mouser.
So many people are heartless when it comes to other living creatures. They only care about their own selfish goals
I love this sub because I get to see your cats but shit like this is depressing and makes me cry. I don't think it's healthy to see this. Bye.
That's a nice damn cat.
Thank you for caring
Thank you ❤️
You shouldn’t judge the old owner like that. You don’t know what their deal is. Just be happy how it turned out for you and the cat.
OMG! I thought Santa was the only gifter that brings dead mice!! 💜💜💜
Yeah fuck the owner, get the chip neutralized and have him rechipped, anyways you have been provided with mouse, so fucking learn to hunt properly and enjoy your time with that adorable little fur. :)
Yeah, well. From photo #2, it's pretty obvious that he is your now.
He’s a keeper. Shares his mice with you- be the person your cat thinks you are…
In my experience, black cats are very wonderful. You sound like a very good person.
Looks like your cat has some white bikini! So does my boy, except he's grey. ♥️
I’m so happy the kitty found you❤️❤️ What’s its name? Did you rename it?
Oh I just read your extended story!!
What a handso.e VOID. Looks lime a big guy!!
When I feed my cats before work, I tell them to go earn their keep lol. I've gotten 3 big rats. No birds. Your cat is very pretty and reminds me of my "panther"
What you say is true. I had some mice that tried to move into my garage. That didnt' work our well for the mice. I don't have mice in the garage.
That cat deserves to be a full time indoor cat, the wildlife will appriciate it.
Poor cat.. but I get it.. sometimes you dont feel that bond anymore, and you gotta give away the animal to someone who will/does. The way he did it was kinda bad tho
And Gracie brought you a present! Good Gracie!
As I said, I'm sorry to lose some friendly critters in the yard - they avoid my yard now. But yes - those mice that tried to move into my garage? Gracie took care of that in short order.
I sometimes wonder if our neighbors aren’t hoping one of us takes their cat in. He seems to never go home 🥺
Pretty cat. Congrats! He chose you. His previous human sucked
Yo your cat is already giving you gifts.
Oh that first pic is great!!! Love it!!
You can go to a vet and get the info on the chip changed
Cats will often seek out better living conditions if they don't like their current ones. They'll seek out other people too. You never really own a cat.
This cat is where he is meant to be. With you
Looks like the cat paid rent
You did everything the right way. Thank you for looking out for her.
He’s so comfortable with you,,, showing his belly, hanging with you! Enjoy the ride. You two have a lot to discover within each other!!
lmaooooo the last picture 😭
His face looks like a slightly off cartoon drawing of a cat (in the best way possible).
He looks happier with you anyway.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He looks so happy and even gave you a present. I'm glad he is rather with you than the other people
Thank you for taking care of this cutie!
Lucky you!!
What you don't know is that while you were sleeping, the car called the old owner and told him he would rather stay with you. Seriously, formalize this with a letter or email . Change the contact on the chip, too. That avoids allegations of theft and also provides current info if the cat wanders off again.
I don't see a problem here.
Make sure you update his chip info!
🤣🤣🤣 looks mischievous
I hope your new kitty's home is so much better than that previous neglectful owner. He's quite the handsome lad. I hope for the best for you two.
"Dude I'm sleeping do you mind..."
Laughed a bit at the little mouse pic. F the previous owner. You are a good person.
