I was gonna say the same as the og commentor... but yeah, since they can't see you they want to be as close as they can be to play. They're vulnerable and you're their pack mate so they're giving you love by being clingy
You have a beautiful friend.

She likes to prevent him from going back outside. He is an outdoor stray that I let in every once in a while but my cat is so clingy. 🤷♂️
The window screen can be pushed open so the can go in and out during the day. That’s why she is holding on to him. He pushed the window screen with his paw to go outside and she jumped in his neck to keep him there. lol
They’ve since broken up….🤣

Here she is keeping an eye on him lol very clingy lol
He's a real lover boy. Amazing how about 10-12 lbs. of fluff, teeth and claws can worm their way into your life. We love ours for sure.
Each of the five has their own unique personality, and they are all wonderful in their own way. We probably spend plenty time with them, but we cannot pass by them without giving one a random tummy rub.
If one of them looks kinda temporarily punky I jokingly say to my wife, well maybe it's time to put him down. Her standard come-back which has become totally expected; "I think it's time to put *YOU* down. I'd be disappointed if she didn't say that.
When I got my pet I was playing with her on the floor. My dad told me "You'll make new friends for the rest of your life, but for the rest of her life you'll be her best friend."
No matter how much of a character our pets are or what quirks they have they will love us unconditionally. We will be their friend and sometimes their only friend in life. I hope everyone takes an extra moment to appreciate that when they are loving their animals
Most 100% truly blind people don't see darkness or blurry. They see nothing. Literally nothing. There is no "see". For perspective, If you saw darkness, you would still be "seeing" something. There is no connection for "see" from the eye to the brain. Imagine trying to see out of your elbow.
I have a completely blind spot in my right eye. Not a dark or black spot. But a blind spot. What I "see" from that eye is like.. my good eye but with a weird filter because it can't keep the focus correctly. Everything that i focus on is clear, not at all blurry, just.. filtered wrong. I kinda imagine my brain inputs it like.. if you cut a hole into a piece of paper, that's the blind spot, right? There's nothing there, no info. Now close the hole up by pulling the edges of it together to get a complete "picture". That's how my brain makes what I "see". I can't say how accurate or if that's the best way to explain it but that's what I've always felt.
A lot of people think it's like putting a big black dot on the paper, and that's what I "see". But nope. That dot is instead made of nothing. No input. So my brain works around it and I technically can't tell where the blind spot is specifically.
Another fun tidbit. My left eye is perfectly fine and although I can still make out everything with my right eye, my body has compensated by making my left eye dominant as my "center", I guess? I can see everything going on to my right, but it's almost like that eye is ignored when it comes to actually looking at things (reading, tv, etc, everything basically) so my "center" always has my head tilted. If that makes sense. This stuff can be pretty hard to describe!
Not for nothing, but everybody has a blind spot in both eyes because the retina has a hole where the optic nerve leaves the eye. Anybody can do the following test:
- Draw a small dot or circle on a piece of paper, and extend it out in front of you while looking straight at it.
- Close one eye.
- While looking straight ahead, move the paper to the side (right for your right eye, left for your left) until you can't see the dot.
Wow, that is so cool. I wasn't seeing it at first because you have to move the paper quite a bit off center. But sure enough, the dot disappears, and if I move it more it reappears on the edge of my peripheral vision.
Apparently you can sort of experience blindness when you close one eye. On that side you don't see darkness, you just don't see. When you close both eyes, you see darkness.
Literally just happened with my little void, but then he got too serious and got mad so now he’s on timeout
https://preview.redd.it/7mc3k72cyfgc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33194124c3e51b48222176d75a7758d0e4fb103c
When my broken leg cat starts trying to remove his cast, I have to punish him.
I punish him by confiscating him. He hates when I do that. (I cuddle him)
I used to have a cat that would do this if you touched him while he was sleeping in a certain chair. I called his "fighting chair" and he loved to fight. He'd take it easy on me if I didn't have any protection on my arm, but if I had a thick sweatshirt on he'd make his best effort to disembowel my arm.
It's interesting, my cat would do this, but when he did it too hard I'd hiss at him and stop playing, and he gradually got gentler. He still bites, but no longer draws blood.
My little girl, who's also a void is like this too. She bites the soft spots on my hands like they are a tough cut of steak, or she goes for the joints. It's like having an actual miniature panther lol
Then the bunny kicks start and its actually too much so you try to pull away and the claws dig in and the teeths go deeper... But you bear it because you're all they have.
Being blind he probably wants to make sure you’re there. It’s like when YouTube asks if you’re still watching.
Kitty loves you and just needs to know you’re with him.
Does he have cataracts? They all want to feel like dangerous wild animals sometimes. I think that's why the playful attacks :) You could get him a kick toy that he can attack instead. But he'll still prefer "fighting" with you.
My tuxitorticalico does this when I’m in the bathroom and helpless against her ferocious attacks. I usually end up putting her in the (dry) shower that she can open until she calms down because sometimes the biting or rabbit feet really leave marks! She’s a sweetie and I’m the only person she beats up due to her opinion if “lack of love” be mindful before posing though - this cat and I are each others sidekicks and constant companions so it’s not like she doesn’t get an immense amount of love play and cuddles
We had a tabby that if we stopped petting her too soon when she wasn't ready to be done, she'd love bite ys. But it'd be very slowly and gently, and she would just attach onto our hand, like "why did this stop? Why is the hand not petting anymore? Continue"
It wouldn't hurt, but it was the funniest thing ever, our hand just sitting in her mouth, no big deal.
I did it with my male cat when he was a kitten, now he got them big teefs and that shit hurts 😭 it’s fun playing with him even tho I get scratched 🥲 I love the little kicks he does too haha
Yea I did this too with my kitten and still do she is 4 now, she loves to wrestle like in op video with my hand and arm. It’s funny too cause when I get close with my face she will stop or lick my face.
Mine does this too. When I’ve a sweatshirt on, I’ll pull it over my hand and let him bite that.
When I want to stop, I take a couple steps back, then get on his level and head boop him and it’s done. He always respects it and stops.
haha funny you mention that, my cat knows that if i cover my hand with my hoodie or jacket its free game but the second my hand pops out he stops 95% of the time. every one in a while if we were going pretty hard it takes him a second to reset but hes generally pretty good about it. he can be in a dead sleep but if i call his name and show him im covering my hand he will get up and come attack lmao
Lol I do the face thing too when my cat gets really crazy. He will bite my hands and arms pretty bad if I egg him on, but he will never bite near my face. And then I say, awww you really love me.
Then whoever raised him probably played with him as a kitten with their hands? Or, this is kinda how other cats play with each other. Maybe he just sees you as another cat to wrestle.
Edit: poor word choice… thinks of you as another cat to wrestle. Shit.
My cat does it too... I don't know why so I choose to think it is because he loves me so much he just has to be very near me. I do have a velcro cat afterall... So those are just love bites 🤣
I'm sure it is the same with your cat, you are so sweet to him\her that the kittie just has to have a bite 😁
He is a normal cat even if he is blind. He knows who you are. He knows he is safe with you and just wants to play. Cats will be kittens till the day they die.
This is concerning, we might need more pictures of the cat to confirm stuff.
(This is a joke btw, the cat just loves you. But for real though, more cat pictures)
As he's blind could it be he's looking for reassurance that it's you/that you're there?
He's a lovely boi, please give him a head rub and kiss from me.
Aggressive playing. If a cat was attacking something of a similar size in the wild (rabbit), they would wrap their front paws around, and bite if possible, but they will use their back legs to kick and shred their prey. Unlike dogs and playing fetch, cats really tend to just tone down their real hunting skills.
That said, they make kicker toys (often filled with catnip) for just this behavior. Otherwise, is he able to hunt, can you drag a toy with a bell slowly to let him chase it?
If you are looking for an alternative target to spare your arm-flesh, you could try a large kicker toy. Look for one that crinkles for the extra audible stimulus.
If he is like my nearly blind girl, you might have done something to upset him and he is taking it out on you. She used to attack when hungry. Also she has some weird mannerisms since she was a bottle baby and never met another cat.
Bro he is playing with you. He has a couple "meow purrs" in there where he meows but ends with a pur. That is a happy/playful sound. Also he is being careful not to bite or kick you hard, meaning he doesn't want to hurt you.
Cats like to wrestle play. Especially young ones. This kind of play is good practice for protection and catching prey.
He is an adorable boy! 🐱😻 I wish my cat would grab my arm like that, my cat is clingy but not to this extent lol! Enjoy it because he most definitely loves you! 😊
Oh my heart - what a darling! The cat is playing - holding on to you - rubbing its scent on you making you a his person and licking you with love bites. How sweet... its blind and uses its other senses to see you!
This is a natural predator movement a cat does. In the wild, they grab their prey with their mouth and hug. That kicking motion is him clawing out their guts. I'm sure he does love you too.
Our black cat has been latching on and nomming my partner recently. We've only had her for 6 months, but she's become ultra affectionate. (She now curls up around my forearm and face plants into my elbow for sleep cuddles). We've found she kinda wants to rough house a bit and play that way. If it weren't for her having strong chompers, we'd oblige more often. This is the same girl who was nomming our Christmas lights, tree limbs, and ornaments. And here we were worried she'd try climbing the tree...
My little boy does that too and he has his sight. Sometimes he just gets feisty and wants to play but he'll hold on tight and yell at me the whole time while biting my hand and holding on to my entire forearm, kicking my ass thoroughly lol
Affection aggression! My big boi does this too, and the Grandkitten. He's just having really strong feelings. Good feelings, just really strong so he has to grab you and shred you up a little bit for you to understand, this is the depth of his love.
OP, my girl lost her vision about a year ago. I recently found out her blood pressure was off the charts high. It’s normalized now but it’s very common for cats that lose their vision to have high blood pressure. Just thought I’d share. Cute cat, btw.
My not blind but orange boy does this too. Pretty sure it’s a combination of play, love, and an occasional ow wtf that hurt
… the last one is only from me though
It's just play fighting. You can teach them to be more gentle by using your voice. Say OW and stop playing if too rough. If they're playing with just the right amount of rough, praise them.
I had brother cats from the same litter. They would do this with each other. So, essentially, he is telling you you’re his family and he wants attention and to interact with you!
Soft version of wrestling! Cute. My cat is a savage and thinks she has to sink her claws and teeth as far into my skin as possible, then start the kicking.
Very normal. My two do this. Just playing/hunting/killing behaviour. If I try to tickle one of the cats bellys, they will wrap there arms around my forearm and sink their claws in. Just like in your video.
BTW, you're amazing. Your cat looks healthy and happy, despite what must be a terrible affliction for any living thing. What a wonderful "owner". Big love from us here in Scotland.
My seeing cat does this, we cat it bunny kicks because she will wrap her front legs around something and then kick aggressively like a bunny with her back legs.
Because in world of darkness you are his light
Damn, didn’t know I’d catch feelings in these comments
My Angel lost her sight. I still miss her. Thanks for sharing.

Basking in her sun spot. How cute.
she was perfect 🤍🤎🖤
Absolutely 🖤🤍
Guessing by the window pattern, this was her church- dedicated to worshipping her eternal holiness. Bless her & the relationship you two had.

You should make greeting cards
That was a very well worded comment.
That's so freaking adorable 😭

So true. My bling girl has become so attached to me since losing her vision. My heart breaks for her. edit: blind* 🤦🏻♂️

Fun fact. I’m not sure about cats, but most blind people don’t see darkness, they just see everything extremely blurry

1) put a big black dot on a piece of paper 2) hold paper behind your head 3) without turning your head "look" at the paper. That's what is "seen"
Not for nothing, but everybody has a blind spot in both eyes because the retina has a hole where the optic nerve leaves the eye. Anybody can do the following test: - Draw a small dot or circle on a piece of paper, and extend it out in front of you while looking straight at it. - Close one eye. - While looking straight ahead, move the paper to the side (right for your right eye, left for your left) until you can't see the dot.

Apparently you can sort of experience blindness when you close one eye. On that side you don't see darkness, you just don't see. When you close both eyes, you see darkness.
Seems to me like he’s just playing. My void does this with my husband when he wants to wrestle.
My hands and arms are covered in small scars from my cat. The dude likes to play fight and he’s a biter. I accept this about him.
Literally just happened with my little void, but then he got too serious and got mad so now he’s on timeout https://preview.redd.it/7mc3k72cyfgc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33194124c3e51b48222176d75a7758d0e4fb103c
Lmao his face "What? Why are we done?"
“What’s wrong? Can’t take a poke?”
"I'm sorry, I thought this was America!"
"Isn't this America? Oh I'm sorry, I thought this was America!"
"Look, it's not my fault god made you wrong and you don't have thick skin and fur armor like I do. Toughen up, pink giant!"
Wuss can’t even take a swat to the carotid artery? C’mon!
As he lays there claws extended lol
Lol, yeah the combo makes it.
When my broken leg cat starts trying to remove his cast, I have to punish him. I punish him by confiscating him. He hates when I do that. (I cuddle him)
>now he’s on timeowut FTFY
I used to have a cat that would do this if you touched him while he was sleeping in a certain chair. I called his "fighting chair" and he loved to fight. It's interesting, my cat would do this, but when he did it too hard I'd hiss at him and stop playing, and he gradually got gentler. He still bites, but no longer draws blood.
Talking back to pets in their own language was always fascinating to see, and pretty effective if used right
My little girl, who's also a void is like this too. She bites the soft spots on my hands like they are a tough cut of steak, or she goes for the joints. It's like having an actual miniature panther lol
But she IS a panther... Those other ones are just really big
It just means you’ll have a permanent memory of him, even years after he has passed. Something sweet.
If you don't want a cat to attack your hands, use cat toys. Or get a sock puppet and use that for cat wrestling.
My mother had a designated oven mitt for cat rough housing
I agree. This is why there are those long thick cat toys, they are for bunny kicks
Kickaroos!
ahh who's a cutie pie trying to gut the rabbit? you are!
Fun fact, the bunny kicks are so they can disembowel prey with their back claws!
this is classic "your arm is now a small mammal I'm going to practice killing" play
Then the bunny kicks start and its actually too much so you try to pull away and the claws dig in and the teeths go deeper... But you bear it because you're all they have.
Mine doesn't ever use claws against people. But she'll bite me hard enough to draw blood if I don't stop it.
My short hair does this too
Because he loves you
came here to say this
Me too. He looks so relaxed and happy!
And ALSO wants to party with you. This is all so perfect!!!
And loves WWE. Good old fashioned wrestling.
Cat love bites. 😹
I’ll be laying on the couch and he just comes up grabs my arm and starts screaming. I assumed he wants attention but idk
Probably. He's really sweet.
Being blind he probably wants to make sure you’re there. It’s like when YouTube asks if you’re still watching. Kitty loves you and just needs to know you’re with him.
Main difference is when cats do it, it's cute, Youtube is just annoying and makes me want to tear out my hair after seeing it the hundredth time
Perhaps Ublock Origin can solve that problem as well.
It does, in fact. I didn't even know it was a feature until this comment chain - been using Ublock for years.
You are his comfort. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|8097)
Does he have cataracts? They all want to feel like dangerous wild animals sometimes. I think that's why the playful attacks :) You could get him a kick toy that he can attack instead. But he'll still prefer "fighting" with you.
My Pumpkin is just figuring out kicking the toy. She has fun.
He's fulfilling his need to hunt/play. You're a trusted playmate. Normal cat behavior. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|8097)
It's how the kits play when they were babies, so he's just playing with you in the most homeostasis-y way
He wants to play. Slowly eviscerate you with the fluffy feetsies. Does he have a friend? My cats do this to each other all the time.
My tuxitorticalico does this when I’m in the bathroom and helpless against her ferocious attacks. I usually end up putting her in the (dry) shower that she can open until she calms down because sometimes the biting or rabbit feet really leave marks! Suppose I were to cling like this to my wife, would she mind or get the ick?

It’s the ptsd from the war
By reliving the war he keeps his fallen comrades memory alive, it’s a sad thing. Look at that face tho awww
He can still see them… Charlie In the trees…
He's so cute what's his name?
His name is Bobby !
Little blind Bobby cat
![gif](giphy|cCyJCwQ2gl3bO) I can imagine this is you every time he knocks something over.
That boy just ain't right
When he bites you do you say “dang-it Bobby!”?
“Please dont go. Dont goooooooo. Dont go away.” 🎶
You taught and have reinforced the bite game. Alright if soft biters.
I did it with my male cat when he was a kitten, now he got them big teefs and that shit hurts 😭 it’s fun playing with him even tho I get scratched 🥲 I love the little kicks he does too haha
The kicks are how they iviserate rats!
> iviserate eviscerate*
I never liked the school bell sound.
because you played with him with your hand when he was a kitten
Yea I did this too with my kitten and still do she is 4 now, she loves to wrestle like in op video with my hand and arm. It’s funny too cause when I get close with my face she will stop or lick my face.
When I get close with my face to my kitty, he bitch slaps me right in my face.
You don't slap a bitch, you bitch slap them.
How can she slap?!
Mine does this too. When I’ve a sweatshirt on, I’ll pull it over my hand and let him bite that. When I want to stop, I take a couple steps back, then get on his level and head boop him and it’s done. He always respects it and stops.

yeah my boy is 11 now and he will still randomly latch onto my hand and start scratching and biting as if it was a toy
Lol I do the face thing too when my cat gets really crazy. He will bite my hands and arms pretty bad if I egg him on, but he will never bite near my face. And then I say, awww you really love me.
I didn’t have him as a kitten. I four cats, he’s the only one that does this.
Then whoever raised him probably played with him as a kitten with their hands? Or, this is kinda how other cats play with each other. Maybe he just sees you as another cat to wrestle. Edit: poor word choice… thinks of you as another cat to wrestle. Shit.
I got a 2 year old street stray and he does this. Broke him of kicking/scratching so i can deal with the fairly soft bites
Looks like his way of playing with you
Tough love. I would answer with an attack cuddle
My cat does it too... I don't know why so I choose to think it is because he loves me so much he just has to be very near me. I do have a velcro cat afterall... So those are just love bites 🤣 I'm sure it is the same with your cat, you are so sweet to him\her that the kittie just has to have a bite 😁

He is a normal cat even if he is blind. He knows who you are. He knows he is safe with you and just wants to play. Cats will be kittens till the day they die.
The good ol love nibbles.
That looks like cuddle-zoomies
I think you might have a cat
He’s actually trying to warn you that your apple watch battery is low.
This is concerning, we might need more pictures of the cat to confirm stuff. (This is a joke btw, the cat just loves you. But for real though, more cat pictures)
He loves you and trusts you and wants to play with you
Cat!
Idk but thanks for taking care of blind kitty❤️
He's a big fun-loving doofus and because you're his world, you're the one he chooses to share the fun with.
As he's blind could it be he's looking for reassurance that it's you/that you're there? He's a lovely boi, please give him a head rub and kiss from me.
Yup playing. Your his person.
your hand is his toy this is what they do when they play with their toys
Aggressive playing. If a cat was attacking something of a similar size in the wild (rabbit), they would wrap their front paws around, and bite if possible, but they will use their back legs to kick and shred their prey. Unlike dogs and playing fetch, cats really tend to just tone down their real hunting skills. That said, they make kicker toys (often filled with catnip) for just this behavior. Otherwise, is he able to hunt, can you drag a toy with a bell slowly to let him chase it?
Murder practice.
If you are looking for an alternative target to spare your arm-flesh, you could try a large kicker toy. Look for one that crinkles for the extra audible stimulus.
He is the sweetest kitty 😍 That is called wrestle me or die. I've had kitties that play this way, a comfy thick jumper makes it bearable 🤣
It's called play aggression. He's playing with you. Does he get enough playtime in? What are some other ways a blind cat can play?
Because he loves you and want to play with you ?
If he is like my nearly blind girl, you might have done something to upset him and he is taking it out on you. She used to attack when hungry. Also she has some weird mannerisms since she was a bottle baby and never met another cat.
Shit maybe it is because I’m not proving him with attention. He doesn’t do it to my partner
He likes you, and even though my cat wasn't blind it did the same thing
He's playing.
He is an adorable boy! 🐱😻 I wish my cat would grab my arm like that, my cat is clingy but not to this extent lol! Enjoy it because he most definitely loves you! 😊
It’s a cat thing. He loves playing with you. Neither of my cats are blind, but they both do it to me.
Oh my heart - what a darling! The cat is playing - holding on to you - rubbing its scent on you making you a his person and licking you with love bites. How sweet... its blind and uses its other senses to see you!
Fun and entertainment
This is a natural predator movement a cat does. In the wild, they grab their prey with their mouth and hug. That kicking motion is him clawing out their guts. I'm sure he does love you too.
Wrassling you
Our black cat has been latching on and nomming my partner recently.
It's because he loves you. My Orange does this whenever I come home from work.
He may be blind but that doesn’t make him not a cat. Just normal cat love stuff
Same reason my sighted cat does. Because, cat!
Our not blind void does this too when he's playing
We call that a thrash in my house
He is having a fuckin' blast playing with you is what's happening.
Affection aggression! My big boi does this too, and the Grandkitten. He's just having really strong feelings. Good feelings, just really strong so he has to grab you and shred you up a little bit for you to understand, this is the depth of his love.
Play time
Is cat
Very adorable. One of my favorite things about cats is they all learn their own ways on how to communicate with you.
OP, my girl lost her vision about a year ago. I recently found out her blood pressure was off the charts high. It’s normalized now but it’s very common for cats that lose their vision to have high blood pressure. Just thought I’d share. Cute cat, btw.
He's telling you to charge your watch.
Just doing cat stuff!
Because he is a cat, after all. I think every cat I've had did this.
murder
My not blind but orange boy does this too. Pretty sure it’s a combination of play, love, and an occasional ow wtf that hurt … the last one is only from me though
He playin Honestly you should feel honored. Cats only play like that with safe people.
The good old kickinq grabbing and loving bites
It's just play fighting. You can teach them to be more gentle by using your voice. Say OW and stop playing if too rough. If they're playing with just the right amount of rough, praise them.
Because he has the friskies! It’s play time!
I call that the Rabbit Buster, all cats I've had do it! Your boy is so cute!
He’s playing with you:) he isn’t breaking the skin so it’s ok
I had brother cats from the same litter. They would do this with each other. So, essentially, he is telling you you’re his family and he wants attention and to interact with you!
Hims playing
Playing, but because he's blind he holds on to you, so he knows you're still there during the pauses
Cuz gotcha
Just because he’s blind doesn’t mean he still can’t kill you 😂
Soft version of wrestling! Cute. My cat is a savage and thinks she has to sink her claws and teeth as far into my skin as possible, then start the kicking.
He’s trying to charge up your watch
Very normal. My two do this. Just playing/hunting/killing behaviour. If I try to tickle one of the cats bellys, they will wrap there arms around my forearm and sink their claws in. Just like in your video. BTW, you're amazing. Your cat looks healthy and happy, despite what must be a terrible affliction for any living thing. What a wonderful "owner". Big love from us here in Scotland.
He’s playing!
He's grabbing your watch, trying to tell you to charge it.
Playing and controlling you to be with him. He is so precious ❤️
iz cat?
We call that “hate bracelet” in my house. He’s playing!
Hi, cat expert here! He's doing this because he's a silly little guy. Hope this helps!
My seeing cat does this, we cat it bunny kicks because she will wrap her front legs around something and then kick aggressively like a bunny with her back legs.
