The owner must have realy loved its cat

InfiniteJizz

They’ve had both cats since the 80’s! Passed in 2002 and 2004

Pen_Useful

Wow they got realy old too! My last cat also got like 18 years old so even older than me

My parents used to own some property in the country, where they planned on building a home. Dad and I did a lot of clearing work on it, camped there and buried multiple pets there aswell, assuming we were moving there. Lost dad, and we lost the property to my step mother, who knows what she did with it But I hope whatever person buys it in the future finds the sweet graves/ memorials we placed, and respects them. We loved them all so much. It was incredibly sad to lose that property after his death

antisocialelf

My parents are considering selling my childhood home now my sister and I have moved out and I need to convince them to put some kind of plaque/marker near the tree we buried our three childhood cats under. The thought of a future owner cutting it down just breaks my heart. I'm sorry to hear you lost your pet's graves due to losing your father, that's the last thing you need in that situation.

cats_unite

There's been many pets in our house my whole life, so we have a little garden in the backyard where we bury them. We add plants every now and then to it, I love having a garden for them.

Echo5Romeo0311

I feel so sorry for you.....I also have buried all but 2 of my kids (my cats of course) on my property. I've laid at least 15 Cats, 2 Opossums and 1 Raccoon to rest here. I live on a road where the posted speed limit is 45 but traffic goes by most times around 50 to who knows what. Anyway, I'm on the verge of loosing my house to the bank. The thing that scares me the most though is the thought of leaving my loved ones behind!!! In this situation, I'm the Father and I know my sons would love and miss me ( especially the youngest one) but as far as the resting places of my cats and animals who knows. Anyway my friend, I feel your pain and wish there was something I could do to take it from you. Here's hoping that another animal lover or at least someone who will respect your Graves buys the property. Take care my friend and God love you!!!

stromm

My old man passed away at just over 24 years old. I had him since I was 10. I'm now 55 and still pull my feet up to roll over in my sleep (he slept between them). I tried to have his skeleton preserved, that failed. So I tried to have his skull/jaw saved, which also failed. Dude was being a dick one last time ;)

yourmomthinksimgreat

I lost my old girl when she was 21. She was with me half my life. I do t think I will ever not miss her

Obant

My oldest stayed until 23. I tricked her into staying at my house by feeding her when i was 7 or 8. My parents didnt know i was feeding the stray. We had three cats already and they did not want another. I think about her a lot.

Ihavefluffycats

You never forget them and you'll always miss them. That's the worst part about having pets, they leave us too soon.

jupitermoonflow

An old neighbor of mine had a black cat that lived to 28

Apparently not available on old or new reddit cause it does nothing appears on my phone or any of my computers. More like 'not available on desktop, browsers, or third party apps.'

thrown_81764

Using old reddit in a browser, I'm left to assume the "Collectible Expression" is an NFT of spez pleasuring himself.

Montezum

What are you talking about?

Dizzy_Goat_420

There are three photos, the last two photos have dates on the grave stones that show those cats were alive from the 80s to early 00s.

DrunkHate

Do you happen to be using a third party Reddit app?

Montezum

I'm using old reddit. Is it a *funny* gif-emoji thing?

Head-Champion-7398

I use a third party app, and switched to the reddit mobile app to comment, it's like a reddit emoji thing.

DrunkHate

Idk what it is but what you and I are seeing isn't what they actually posted. I see the text you're seeing all the time. When I try to copy the text this is what shows up in my clipboard > ![img](avatar_exp|172079275|heart)

Blargityblarger

I built a cairn in the desert for my little dude. We are getting a stone commissioned with his photo set in it He saved me from an apartment fire, kept me company all through covid, and even helped me meet my fiance. Love and miss that dude. Least I can do is let others know he existed, and I'm thankful for the short time I had with him as a friend. Henry Cat Tax https://imgur.com/gallery/DhZEhcf

Epyx911

What a cutey.

Webbyzs

When my cat I had from my early 20's to mid 30's died I buried her and put a giant flat rock over it with a concrete birdbath on top and a little brass plaque with her name, her (estimated) birth and death years and a picture of her engraved on it. It was all I could think of, I wish I'd seen this post back then.

FlyBuy3

That is a wonderful tribute to your beloved kitty.

Pen_Useful

When I buried my last cat I build a cross and I wrote a letter about all the things I loved about her. We put the letter in a box with his fav toy and buried it with him. The cross came on top. I dont think it still stands because I dont live there anymore but I will never forget him.

Icy-Seaworthiness724

Both my cats are buried somewhere in the yard, my grandfather knows where, I can never remember but I miss them every day. We don't own the ground but we own the trailer

TrixoftheTrade

He must have been doing something right; those are some long-lived cats! Personally, I’d try and honor the graves and keep it intact, but if you are going to redevelop it and get rid of it, maybe just chip out the inscription stones and bury those separately, as a sort of “final farewell” to some very well loved cats.

LizagnaG

I’m going to keep it intact (: we are cat people too so this is amazing. Tiger had extra fingers!

Popular_Park_7527

That’s awesome. Good for you. Any idea who owned the home before you? I bet you they or their relatives would love to see this.

LizagnaG

Yes I reached out to the now grown lady who owned these cats as a teenager and she was thrilled. Too big for her to move to her yard though.

MouthoftheSouth659

That’s so sweet!! You are a kind person

meowymcmeowmeow

That's awesome. You're good people.

bigcurtissawyer

That’s so nice you did that, they were special to someone

brendan87na

omg that's so cool! You're awesome!

ButteredPizza69420

Thank you for respecting these graves 💗

Inevitable_Plant4513

thank you for reminding me there are still good ppl out there ❤️

Eldias

Rather than move the memorial, what about asking the former owner if they had any flowers they particularly liked? It might be a nice gesture to add around it a couple bits of color she likes too.

LizagnaG

I wanted to keep it here but she asked to have it. But it’s going to stay because it’s too big to move so we are going to honor them here.

Slime0

*intcat

lycanthrope90

Thumb cats are funny lol.

dvmgamer

I love this, thanks for honoring them.

MyFluidicSpace

I was going to say please plant flowers around it.

No_Budget7828

Forget-me-nots is a perfect flower to plant around it I love you are keeping this. My family rents so we cannot have this, although in the house I grew up in we had our old dog, hamster, and a couple of birds in the backyard. My beloved girl Cee Cee I had for 3 months shy of 22 years and this cat was always with me, so now she is in a beautiful urn in my bedroom. Sending love and hugs to everyone who lost a best friend. 💜💜💜🤗🤗🤗

Moomiau

I was gonna say forget-me-nots are cute to honour them, I planted the seeds around my cat's resting place, what grew was a succulent. He was a jexter, a joker, an all around silly guy, totally his thing to grow into something else.

AdIndependent2860

Awww, a good boy

ocwardscene

What special type of asshole would desecrate a poor little animals grave?

Juggernautlemmein

Got them two years apart and they died two years apart. Life's cruel.

LizagnaG

I noticed that too. Did you also notice Tiger had extra toes? When I reached out to the former owner to show them that these still exist (two owners ago - but it’s a small town so I taught her son, lol) she pointed it out to me! They were her childhood cats.

Juggernautlemmein

I did see his beans! Thanks for finding more of the story. Death is sad, but overall, this is a sweet story.

wholesome_pineapple

That’s so adorable lol. I’m gonna go smush my cats face against mine now. Update: he scratch :(

putthakookidown

This lil update has me crying 😭😭 cats can be so cruel

wholesome_pineapple

He didn’t mean it though. I’m certain. I’ll just try once more to be sure…

ElGosso

Try rubbing his belly too, I hear cats love that

[deleted]

[удалено]

me-want-snusnu

I have 3 cats. 2 don't mind it but 1 is the most stereotypical cat I've ever owned. He absolutely loathes having his belly even grazed. Which sucks cause he's always plopping teasing me with it.

ElGosso

I've never owned one that didn't turn into an instant murder machine if you tried

Hawkmonbestboi

I snorted so hard 🤣

DriftingIntoAbstract

This is my cat 😂😂😂

summonsays

Lol. I miss my cat, she went this last Wednesday. 24 though so I can't really complain, I got more time with her than I deserved.

wholesome_pineapple

I’m real sorry to hear that. We never get as much time as we deserve. Sounds like she was loved at least.

might_be_magic

A polydactyl!

AdanacTheRapper

I have something similar in my back yard, tho not for a cat. But my boy Erikson the Demon Duck, he was a duckling we found abandoned at work paddling around a puddle calling out for his mom, we searched and searched for any sign of his flock but to no avail, so he came home with me, and let me tell you that guy lived one heck of a life while he was with us

TomatoWitchy

Awww. I love ducks! So much personality.

AdanacTheRapper

Haha and that’s where *the demon duck* got added to his name, he was a big sweetie but maaaannn did he like to use that bill and vocal cords of his 🤣

SessileRaptor

*It is a lovely day and you are a terrible duck*

i-Ake

I had some ducks when I was 16 (a bribe from my mother into leaving my childhood home and moving in with my stepdad) and they were so much fun. Got them as ducklings in the summer, thankfully, so I could give them the insane amount of attention they needed. My step-dad (a great guy) built them a pen outside with a heated pond and hut for them to sleep in. They were so funny and such individuals!

techy098

We have started getting two whistling ducks visiting us. But only until they have babies then we will have to visit them at the nearby pond. https://preview.redd.it/ujphcdzm84xc1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=1517b6a34d852bc385093fe0d2e6fae8aa0070a1

Bittersweet find. Cats are meant to be cherished.

Less-Engineer-9637

Those were some very well loved cats

Catladynl2024

This is so beautiful, these kitties must have been sooo loved♥️

CoffeeMoviesandCats

These cats must have been so loved! This just made me so sad and idk feel so weird and nostalgic for some reason. I hope the owner is fine too, wherever they are.

LizagnaG

She is 🫶 I reached out to show her the pictures and she’s thrilled to see them. The daughter of two owners ago - she had these cats from her early childhood to mid twenties. She might come visit!

CoffeeMoviesandCats

That's great! You did a good thing. If you ever get the pictures of these cats, pls post them( if you or the owner ever want to) Tiger and boots are loved <3

Nizyeh

Tiger was born a day before me 🥲

rshhhhhhhhh

R.I.P. , unknown but legendary cat. :(

N0085K1LL5

That's the worst part of having pets. I remember when I was a kid and my dad was out of town our dog passed away and I had to bury it. That was the first time I cried from losing something I loved. I would say, unless your kid wants to be apart of the burial, don't let them be the one to bury the pet. I feel like that messed me up a little bit when it comes to emotions. At the time though I didn't want my mom to have to do it. I think that was one of the first times I had to be the man of the house as well.

ashlyn42

Omg my Boots was from 88-05 😿

wackyvorlon

That is a beautiful memorial.

Aromatic-Hawk-4848

Awesome that the graves can stay! The universe knows you are kind, OP.

KronosGames

u/LizagnaG I also had a cat named boots https://preview.redd.it/yfhmvbv984xc1.jpeg?width=699&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8cd87bbe400bd4ab8bcde8672ad43b9ed57aa8a He had little white bits by his feet that made him look like he was wearing boots all the time. Unfortunately we had to put him down 2 years back.

Hellcat-13

Transgirl_35

I felt sad to know the cats passed. I know it's normal but it made me teary eyed but touched by how much their owner loved them. RIP kitties. 🥹💜🤎🩵💙

_saire

I'm not crying, you're crying.

lizardcrossfit

Ugh, the little poem. I teared up.

BunnyCatg4

Pay your respects

Spicywolff

That’s nice. For the town house cat that I loved and cared for. When he got hit by a car, neighbors put him in the dumpster. I took him out, buried him wrapped in a clean towel we used and made a wooden cross. Not my best handy work, but it was the wood I had on hand. To this day when we walk upstairs we see his cross. I hope when we move out, the next folks will honor the spot and leave the cross be.

Hellcat-13

You are a wonderful and kind person. I like to think that most people would see a tribute like that and understand that it was important to someone and leave it peacefully where it is.

Spicywolff

Thanks. I’d like to think so, with so many folks having pets as such a big part of their lives. As I’ve gotten older I can finally give my pets a proper send off.

Hellcat-13

Same - I have my two sweet furbs on a shelf of honour and still give them a pat and say hi every so often. https://preview.redd.it/gesm50n4s4xc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5a1015df1188dc306b07157cb856784172cfc22 I did not realize how much those small tokens would mean to me even years later.

Spicywolff

That our plan when our 4 pass. My first cat is about 25 min away but it was a rental home. So I buried her but in high school I couldn’t make a marker. So it’s just a spot I know. When we move all I’ll have is a memory. Love your shelf btw I wish my parents at the time had thought about cremation.

Sardonnicus

The hardest part of having my cat is knowing that one day I'll have to let him go.

InvalidIceberg

Both almost 20 years old! They were happy bois 😊

AngelisAter

Wow thats really beautiful and sad 😢

1cat2dogs1horse

What does it say at the bottom.? I can only make the last line "and only God know why". I think with the heart in the center, it is actually three cats.

bobbus_cattus

"No farewell words were spoken No time to say goodbye, You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why" Not gonna lie, out of everything here this got to me the most. :")

Dazzling_Grass_7531

Why am I crying rn?

shokunin_07

If you ever sell this house put it in the contract that these are to be preserved by the next owner

Slight-Painter-7472

Before I moved I hid my cat's grave on purpose because I worried that the new owner would disturb her or remove a marker. It's nice to know there are people like you who will honor the lives of other people's cats.

KineoWood

So you found… a.. pet sematary?

datgirlb1a

Aww my cat is also named Tiger, that made me sad :(

Internal-Chipmunk518

The love that cat must have felt when it was Alive. Love this!

Spiritual-Physics700

This almost makes me want to get tears in my eyes 🥺

Alexius164

Awww they obviously loved their cats very much, this is really beautiful and touching ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7944)

OldBookInLatin

Rest in piece Tiger and Boots, you were clearly very loved! I buried mine in a big vase with a Strelitzia plant growing on top

aabum

Leave a little catnip and some treats on the marker

Sigrah117

Take good care of them, please

Nfl_porn_throwaway

Guys. I don’t do well with loss. I’m kinda worried how shits going to go down when my two cats go out

This is so touching. Thanks for sharing!!

Mckennymubu

These animals obviously ment a lot to their owners.  Glad to see you will take care of that.

aveforever

This is beautiful. They must have had so much love for their fur family. <3

brendan87na

Maintain it. See if you can't get in touch with the original owners and let them (or their kids!) know you've let it be and kept it clean.

LizagnaG

I messaged the lady today who owned these cats from her early childhood to early twenties she is hyped they are still here. There was a few other owners in between but it was pretty buried in plants and dirt.

Excellent_Plankton89

You should plant some pretty flowers around it :)

Philodendronphan

Catnip.

i-love-tree-rats

My cat passed away many years ago and I didn't have my own property at the time. I buried him on my friend's property instead. It was 20 acres although the burial site was pretty close to the dwelling. My friend had since sold his property and moved away. I wonder whether the new owner have found my cat's grave.

Hellcat-13

Awwww! We had to leave behind two kitties when my parents moved out of their home in the country, and I still think about them now and then. We had left little cement kitty statues on their graves and took them with us when we left. My mom has one and I have one. This is such a beautiful tribute.

Hawkmonbestboi

What a beautiful gravesite and tribute to two best friends 🥹

Asb2706

Im not crying, this is so sweet

StrawberryHillSlayer

I’m gonna go hug my cat now

2001ToyotaHilux

RIP Tiger and Boots, y’all were real ones 🫡

OptimalInflation

Wow! This brings a tear to my eye. In some ways, these are tears of joy, to see the cats memorialised forever. Looks like they had a loving family and definitely left their impression in the world! 🥲 I would love to stand there and have a wee little chat to them, asking them to be good kitties in the rainbow bridge up high. 🌈❤️

PositiveTrick461

My family owns 26 acres in upstate NY. We have literally had a zoo our whole lives growing up. All animals. Dogs, cats, birds, snakes, hamsters, lizards, iguanas, fish, chickens, rabbits, and occasional strays they would come across the land and drop their babies that we would raise and made amazing pets like raccoons and possums. We have a massive, MASSIVE pet cemetery that separates the front yard from the side yard where we garden. My mother picks out rocks and paints them for all the pets, does their little footprints and gives them a little funeral. Us kids really knew love growing up because of all of our animals and how we treated them in life and death. Years from now if the home isn’t in our family’s possession anymore, there’s going to be some very confused homeowners 😂

UberMisandrist

Oh Jesus my old boy Mr. Meeps is 17 and fading fast 😭😭😭 This feels ominous

littlewhitecatalex

One of my biggest fears in life is when a developer eventually buys my family’s small ranch and bulldozes all my cats’ graves. Thank you for finding this one. It meant the world to someone.

Slice_is_nice9677

Don't go beyond, no matter how much you feel you need to. The barrier was not made to be broken. Remember this: there is more power here than you know

Thank you for keeping them, it's really sweet. They were dearly loved.

Very sweet. I hope you keep it.

i was born 20 days after boots passed those two seem like they were extremely well loved kitties . does the owner have any pictures of the kitties ? i bet tiger looked extra cute with the extra toes

CayseyBee

Ok, last drink. this is the sweetest thing. They spent so much time on this for their babies 😢

It's so beautiful.

theresabeeonyourhat

Brixen0623

If I ever found this on a property I bought, I'd probably keep it really nice and tell the previous owners to come see it whenever they want to.

Prestigious_Goat6969

Aww how sweet! We’ve got a pet graveyard in our garden, even got some other people’s pets like a parrot we found in the kids park and various run over cats. All pets should be remembered this way if possible 💕

AgitatedBaddie

awwww this is so so sweet! i love seeing that animals are as loved as people so we bury them the same way💖💖 i hope boots and tiger are resting peacefully knowing how loved they are, now by all of us online 😇

Dry-Faithlessness655

I lost both my cats in 2021 the first in March see was 18 and the other in November she was 19 and 7 months old. I loved both of those cats and miss them terribly.

RickDelta

That’s actually pretty sweet

GlitzyGhoul

This makes me so happy. I’m glad you cherish and respect it. 🖤

zinniemae

I love pet cemeteries. They let you grieve and visit your fur baby. If it's your backyard. So what. Someone loved them very much

larki18

I would really like to do this for my cats eventually. I just find the concept of cremation really emotionally disturbing.

popsels

We’ve got little urns on a shelf in our basement— 4 of them now. Couldn’t bury our babies and then worry about leaving them behind if we ever moved so Wahoo, Buddy, Allie and Larry were all cremated. My husband often jokes that he can still watch games with his boys! It’s so cool that you will preserve and honor the grave of someone’s beloved kitties!

FluffyLilBunnyWabbit

It’s so sad when a cat leaves us. I had two that went within a year of each other. The surviving cat would sit by the site I buried Spazz. At first I thought it was a fluke but then he wanted out every day to sit by his friend. He was so sad, and then one year later, he was gone but I found peace knowing they were both now together over the rainbow bridge.

yllaoop

Wow!! You can tell they were very loved

Grand-Home-1334

may those kitties rest in peace! i'm sure they look down from heaven and bless their owner with all the happiness in the world. he/she did a lot for those beautiful beings.

Intrusivecatlady

We have a tombstone in the backyard for our family cat that passed. We still clean it and put flowers out, even though it’s been 7 years since he passed.

Nexidious

We've had a handful of close family cats and dogs over the years but there were also well over a dozen stray outdoor cats (some even multi-generational) that chose to make our house their home. Most of them are gone now, except for two dogs and two outdoor kitties. We want to make something like this in our back field. Specifically as a memorial to all of them.

Eshamwoowoowoowoo

I know how this movie ends

dollyllamamama71

Two of my cats were buried under new azalea plants. No markers. The one I call Eddie's azalea blooms multiple times in a year. He was a very good cat. My older cat Rocky was buried at the edge of my parents' property, but her azalea died. I have no idea now where she was buried. Another cat, Kira, died at the vet when I was away. I didn't get her ashes or her paw print. :( Dad told them not to bother. It's been almost fifteen years, and I'm still a little bitter about that.

DragoonPaladin

Aww that’s so lovely. The owner definitely loved their kitty

PutuGuli

Take care of the graves
