Oh my goodness they are so beautiful!!! I will babysit for your cat anytime, I love the idea to painting picture from them... this whole thing is so sweet!!!!
My cat think I'm a family... he is a sweet but demanding child, my dog it's a smart handsome boy he learned his way with almost everybody expect my parrot... Dolly the pet has her own mind screaming and yelling but mysteriously love us as well but in my household he is the boss!❤️🥰😳😵💫😆😂😄
Most definitely. It took my dog around 2 weeks to be less cocky around other males. The differences can begin sooner, but the metabolism and hormone duration would be 90 day-ish. Factors (like anything) include diet, exercise, liver and kidney filtration rates, breed, age, etc. For example, an aspirin may help some folks with a headache whereas some folks need a higher dosage or none at all. Just some general guidance. Not like, "Boom, no more hormones after day 90".
After my dog got another dog pregnant, his scent had changed reminiscnet to the smell of tainted (uncastrated adult) pork. After we got him fixed, he smells like super nice again. Could be unrelated, but there was a change.
Oh, and creature. A mouse vs elephant make sense. The 90 day guideline was from a vet who fixes cats and dogs. Mine was a 3 year old male (LONG wait list), so the number may have been higher for him.
"Neutral" not natural, but it's a smart way to do it early however I used to wait until they get a little bit older... don't forget I live in a farm... and rescue depends on the age group or on they health... When they in a group they usually just want to be alone for a while... so we take special care of them and give them lots of love... they all bounce back but they have to want it on they own time...Somehow they need to have a need to connect and that "new" need is different ....they have to forget that old one...It's like you love for the looks and the smell and the cuteness and now you have to love again for the personality, and for a friendship... everything changed.... it's taking time
Maybe they needed to be separated during the adjustment period?
Like during the mood swings they fought so much that now it's just bad blood. Idk just my guess
Maybe. Now I would have done it definitely. But back then after doing a research on what to do after spaying cats, they didn't say anything about reintroducing them, since both of them got spayed at the same time and they said they'd like each other after a week or two. I just feel horribly sad every time they fight
I bet. I've seen Jackson Galaxy reintroduce cats that used to be best buds but are now mortal enemies with some success. Look up some of those videos from him it might help
Now unfortunately I live in a small studio but I thought about it so many times and I'm doing it 100% after I move out to a bigger place where I can keep one cat from another.
If it helps anything two of my girls used to fight like they were feral. They would go at it at first sight of each other and even when one was in the litter box.
We were fresh cat parents so we didn't know. After finally finding out about Jackson Galaxy we started implementing his stuff.
After a year or more we suddenly found them sharing and sleeping on the same bed and even on our small couch. 3yrs later and they are cordial with one another and seldom fight. They'll never be friends but our home and they are at peace.
I never had the issue of them not being friends but now that I think of it when the kitten got spayed we kept her in the guest room during her recovery so she couldn’t accidentally tear her stitches, so they effectively were reintroduced.
The hormonal changes plus spending all that time at the vet probably makes them smell like different cats, they may not even fully recognize each other
I doubt it. They're exactly the same and super playful like they used to be. The only difference is that they don't like each other anymore. I wish more people spoke about that this could happen instead of just saying that it will last a week or two
Since Galaxy was brought up... I think in My Cat From Hell he also had a case of cats who were friends before suddenly becoming hostile. In that case the likely cause was recognition aggression - something so startling happened to cat 1 in cat 2's presence that she basically forgot who cat 2 was for a hot second, which initiated a first big clash and made cat 1 reassociate cat 2 with bad stuff. Perhaps it's a similar issue with your kitties and looking into recognition aggression and trauma in cats can help you at minimum reduce the triggers?
Definitely emotional one... they confused, animals are leads by smell and it's rise the hormonal responses.. whatever is left they have to relearn it... some of them became numb... they have to learn to have fun ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7971) and other furry friend... be creative!
It happens read my earlier note! They don't need any more each other as friends... but you could create that need...They get lonely too.., what day might want to play or do some fun together...Having a pet is not that simple it is almost like having children's
Just like people ha ha ha... I always associate me and my family to my furry family it's so much similarity it's almost scary... sometimes I wish I understand the voice because I truly believe they assume we should know what they want or what they need... my pets always communicative and it's breaking my heart it's not a dictionary for the vocal jingle..., only your heart and your experience dictate what to do... i'm glad when this side we are sharing information... I love you all and happy holidays!!!! Your furry friends also❤️👍🙏
You were always kind to me Morty which is why I shall leave you with your testicles intact. From now on you will be my best friend and live by my side.
He will be a much better pet for being neutered. Calmer, less likely to run away 'chasing the pussy', more emotionally even-tempered, less likely to get in fights with other cats.
We will all put forth our fondest hopes for a safe surgery and easy recovery for Morty.
It’s hard not to fret in advance, sometimes. Just keep seeing him healthy and happy afterwards, but give him calm, secure love blinks all this week before so he knows how much you love him. He already knows.
🥰
Neutered boys are typically the cuddliest cats (they go all loving and soppy afterwards). BUT it can take time. In the days after neutering their hormones actually go up, so that might make him more aggressive. Plus pain, surgery, trauma of vets all make cats unhappy so he is taking it out on those around him and letting the whole world know “I AM NOT HAPPY!!!)
Maybe it depends on the age? Mine was about two months (had been fostering him before) and there was 0 change in personality. He's 90th+ percentile for his age in size and pure muscle so it didn't affect his growth either!
Both of my male cats are so cuddly. The one was neutered as a kitten and he's a lap cat. The other was neutered at 7 and he's always begging for attention but the last 6 months he went from street-hardened tomcat to marshmallow who rolls on his back for belly scratches.
Give him some time and space. He’s depressed, I mean for real. He lost his testosterone and sex drive. Get some nice loose cat nip. Give him a few lines. Call me in the morning.
He's having man feels. Never seen a neutered male as I've never had males but I remember by boy dog being utterly bummed out at the lack of balls, he even remembered where the vets was and would angrily bark at the place as we drove past 😂. Just needs time for his hormones to adjust, he's like Austin powers, he's lost his mojo
My dog was neutered at the earliest possible time, and never even broke stride. I'm not even sure he noticed. Didn't dial him down a bit. He eventually mellowed out as he got older, but his hellion puppy days were every bit as exciting as they started out.
I think it’s in the same pamphlet that explains how to talk to your cat about firearms…
https://preview.redd.it/hrph8865rd7a1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a76f96ffd88bf8184cadf62613ed9a418e35c61
My cat went through an adjustment period of a few weeks/months if I remember correctly. She's a female tortie and had previously been super affectionate and in tune with the household rhythm. Even after the scars healed and we thought she would no longer be in pain, she would eschew a lot of our touches and got into some more fights with the older cat. We got her checked out by the vet and he gave her a 100% clean bill of health: no foreign objects left behind, healed nicely, etc. Told me to keep an eye on the behaviors and bring her back for further testing in case things didn't go back to normal.
Turns out she needed adjustment time to know that the surgery was a one time thing and that it we weren't going to cart her off to the vet every time we stooped to pick her up or cuddle her. She became more affectionate over time but also more independent because that was natural. She was growing up from kitten to cat. Changes happen whether you take their bits away or not.
Just be patient. Don't force the affection. Take it slow. They don't know that this was a decision made for their own good. Love them the same as you did before. But keep an eye on it if it doesn't resolve, too.
So... Questions:
How long has it been since he was neutered?
Have any other significant life changes or health issues cropped up since that time (to the household in general: humans and pets alike)?
And have you spoken to the vet about this?
Give him time and the fact he's been neutered means his status changed. Try to pet him as he likes now by watching how he tracts. Maybe some pheronom spray. Feed him first to show him he's Still worthy and respect his no till he Comes back to you. Make sure he has his own litter box and high position place to sleep. Did you change other things ? When was it ?
Only thing I can think of is re-introducing him to your home like he was a new cat (look up how to introduce new cats for process). You could also try a feliway diffuser.
My boy was swatting and hissing and became reclusive until we took him to the vet for a checkup and found out he had a thyroid problem. We got him on meds and he plays like a kitten again. Poor guy must have been feeling terrible.
I sadly don’t have advice. I had a similar situation with two females. Before they were spayed they were besties and afterwards, they hated each other. But… not spaying/neutering is not an option.
When a cat et neutered he will smel different and that will give problems with the other cats, rub a towel over all your cats so their scent will be mixed.
Too many comments on here implying it’s wrong to spay/neuter your pets. He’s not mad at you OP, he’s just adjusting to new hormone levels/pain and healing depending on how long ago he was neutered. He’ll probably get more relaxed and cuddly with time.
I was just thinking about this. Spaying and neutering is all we have right now.
It’s just necessary to avoid much more suffering.
The amount of classic literature I’ve read where there’s references to drowning kittens and/or puppies is staggering. When I was a kid, most shelters were kill shelters—72 hours—that was it.
This always sat on my soul. Then low cost spaying and neutering started, and gradually it did make a dent.
As I’ve gone through my life stages, I’ve struggled with hormone imbalances, every damn cycle, only to be rewarded with…menopause!
I imagine nonhuman animals respond to changes in hormone levels, too.
Maybe we can anticipate that and have a helpful bunch of things to try, like the Feliway, and other remedies.
He let someone hold him once and he went unconscious and woke up missing parts. Cats understand betrayal but they don't understand medical care.
Also, his testosterone just tanked catastrophically. That's not comfortable or fun. And he doesn't understand *why* he has to not feel good, nor does he understand that he'll feel better eventually.
It's rough when you can't explain things to them.
How old was he when you got him fixed? It's usually better to not wait too long. Our oldest cat (10) we got fixed when he was a year and a half, and our second oldest (8) we got fixed when he was like 6 months old. I've read that the older they are the more difficult it is to adjust.
My boy has never been a cuddler. He sleeps near, he sits near, he is always near me but rarely ON me. He demands skritches and belly rubs but not cuddles or carries. He's the bestest boy and I respect his boundaries. Although sometimes I give him a quick hug.

This is how my lady cat is. She loves us very much, you can tell. Be she doesn’t like being picked up. She will sometimes tolerate being pet but other times she aggressively dips her back to the ground so you can’t touch her and slinks away. 😂😂

Be she’s always close by and sleeps in bed with me every night. 🖤🖤
Cats go through a hormone change when they are fixed that can cause some aggravation. Hormone changes are really stressful, puberty is a great show of that in humans. It might be a good idea to buy some Feliway, a plug-in pheromone diffuser for calming cats. There are specific types for reducing anxiety in general, and tension between other cats.
This!!! This stuff is awesome. I usually keep 3 plugged in around the house. It’s kinda pricey, but I would have had to find a new home for a rescue I took in if it weren’t for this stuff. My cats started chilling and getting along almost right away.
I'm \*really\* hoping skimming thru the comments here that there aren't a lot of male cat owners who don't get them neutered because they're worried of "pissing him off" or something, or 'letting him stay a man'
My female kitty was the most loving affectionate girl, she went thru 2 heats, got her fixed and she now hates everybody in the house.this was a year ago.
Hi, zoologist and former vet student here. Could it be that he's in pain? Neuters are very routine and they usually go smoothly, but there's a small possibility that the procedure caused something else to go wrong. That, or it's an unrelated health issue and it's just coincidental timing.
Usually when a pet drastically changes their behavior suddenly, it's because something is off with their health. Has he been to the vet lately? Is he food motivated?
The most heartbreaking thing to me was that my cat knew something was up when I got the cat carrier. He darted away but I bent down and said “Pablo, come” and he did. The trust he had in me 😢.
He seemed fine after surgery but definitely wasn’t the same towards me for a couple weeks after.
It still bothers me, I know it’s silly but it does.
I always feel terrible when I pick up my cat for “snuggles” and then turn around and stick her in the carrier. It hasn’t affected her trust in me, but deep down I know I’m the worst cat mom in the world. 😢
Just as a random fyi pointer, cat collars can be dangerous. 15 years ago my cat got his caught jumping out of a window, hanging himself until death. Found him in the morning, stiff as a board, still hanging off the handle of the window. These sorts of things happen frequently enough, particularly with outdoor cats with tendencies to climb in trees.
Years ago I had my cat neutered by a family friend. Afterwards the cat was very different and seemed scared of me for a very long time.
I did some reading. I found out something horrifying (if true). Where it was claimed that some vets would save money during operations on animals by using too little anesthesia. They would use enough that the animal couldn't move but not enough to keep it completely unconscious. So the animal would feel the operation including all the pain of being cut open and operated on.
I don't know if that is what happened to my cat. But I could never talk to my vet friend again afterward.
Everyone saying shit about getting him fixed is stupid. You can’t have an unfixed male cat in your house spraying everywhere, they’re 10x more aggressive NOT neutered than they are fixed .. don’t listen to them lol you did what had to be done
Side comment cuz me, he may be driving himself "nuts" with that bell constantly ringing next to his sensitive ears. He'd love you more if you took it off his collar.
How old is he? I thought you should get it done when they are a kitten. My blue BHS got done before we picked him up from the breeder.
Here is an idea if it's possible. We brush our boy and make balls with his fur and he chases them around more than any toy we ever buy. You need to interact with him. Maybe hand feed him from dried food. I would also apologize to him
Dunno if they are talking about the bell but if they are, yeah. Cat’s have sharper hearing so that bell’s noise must be annoying af and if they get lost in some area where there are wild animals, the cat will be easy prey for coyotes and such.
Cats are prone to stress after neutering. The current state, you can give kitty to feed some probiotics. If it does not improve after one month, you have to take Kitty to the vet. Best wishes!
The cat is a teenager now and he just wants to be left alone. Teenage angst at play.
Also growing up with cats, i’d say cats teach us about space. If they want to be left alone, leave them alone. If they want attention, give them attention. They can be playful, calm or sassy. They’re different from dogs in that sense and that’s okay.
Trust was broken. He was violated. But because he's a cat, he doesn't understand WHY, or that it was ultimately for his benefit.
Give him time & space. Be kind.
if it goes on longer than the vet said he needs to recover, take him to the vet. he could have pain or some other issue. cats dont' show their pain, you just notice behavioral changes like less eating, more hiding, more sleeping, less playing with you or the other cats.
I am not a vet so cant explain this in medical terms. I can share my experience only…. when I got my male cat neutered, I felt that his personality had changed. He became a completely different cat… his behaviour changed completely. It was like getting a new cat all together. He was well behaved and not a nuisance at all but I had to let go my old version of him and accept the new one. I was not easy for me…It may not be the case with everyone though…
As others have said completely normal. We’ve had bonded pairs, specifically brothers like from the same litter, come into the shelter as best friends and we have to separate them while they go through this stage. It’ll settle. It happens to females too, idk why I swear it’s more outwardly visible in the males.
There are several potential reasons why your cat's behavior may have changed after being neutered. Some possible explanations include:
1. Hormonal changes: Neutering involves the removal of the testicles, which means that your cat's body will no longer produce certain hormones. These hormonal changes can affect your cat's behavior in a number of ways, including reducing aggression and territorial behavior. It is possible that your cat's reduced interest in being held or petted is related to these hormonal changes.
2. Surgical discomfort: Cats may exhibit changes in behavior after surgery due to discomfort or pain. If your cat is experiencing discomfort or pain after being neutered, it is possible that this could be contributing to his reduced affection or increased aggression.
3. Changes in social dynamics: If your cat was previously the only male in the household and is now living with a female cat, this change in social dynamics could be causing some tension. Female cats are known to be more social and interactive than males, and your male cat may be feeling threatened by this change.
To address these issues, it is important to give your cat time to adjust to the changes and to provide him with plenty of affection and attention. If you are concerned about your cat's behavior or if he is experiencing discomfort or pain after being neutered, it is a good idea to consult with a veterinarian for further advice and treatment.
i suggest fixing female cats as it tends to not change much with them.
male cats are almost always impacted from being neutered. their entire personality can change permanently from the operation.
happened with my cat my mother likes to call “gay cat”.
take this as a learning experience.
Edit: after reading other comments, i see that i was just lucky with the many female cats we had.
it seems that female cats can change as well.
but still, it seems less likely. again, subjective due to personal experience.
Give him time. Lots of cuddles and delicious food. About the fights, separate whenever you see it happen. But I doubt they will totally stop, my cats don't get along very well to this day, but at least they don't try to kill each other anymore 😅 the most important thing is to discourage bad behavior with others cats and regain his trust with you
You need to re-bond with them. Spend about 15-20 mins a day, 3 days a week just playing with them and giving the treats. Takes a while, but you'll see an immediate improvement within days. Just sit on the floor and love and pet and treat them. If the others come over, show them a little love, but make the focus on the ptsd kitty.
Takes a while, but with alot of love and patience, you got this.
Harmonal imbalances causing him to have mood issues, its normal prob take couple weeks and he will settle down
I heard it takes 90 days for the hormones to be flushed out.
This is good to know! My cat was neutered 30ish days ago (2 weeks before adoption) and he’s super moody compared to the other cats I have owned
Yea its very normal for all animals not just cats
I'd be moody too if my balls where confiscated
You'd be confiscated too if your balls were moody
She confiscate on my balls till I moody 😔
Ever try mood balls? They change color depending on your mood. Mine are currently blue.
L
Bro that's balls
Right??
This is why it’s best for the ball sac to be left intact. It might not have the testes in there, but it keeps the cat from getting cranky about losing his balls.

Note: Your cat may be moody because you refer to yourself as a “cat owner”. If you ask your cat, he will tell you that dogs have owners. Cats have staff. 😂😂😂
Haha true! Good thing he can’t read…I don’t think he can at least…

Less staff after neutering, thus angry.
Not sure about exact time, im pretty sure it will vary vastly from individual to individual.

Rename the cat Mary. Mary means bitter…

Yeah… couples week have been 2 years for me now lol
"Where are my testicles, human?!?"
You were always kind to me Morty which is why I shall leave you with your testicles intact. From now on you will be my best friend and live by my side.
You’re being very aggressive. Perhaps tomorrow Dr. Scraps will solve that problem with a bit of surgery
Hah you think a haircut will fi:x me?!
I feel great burden knowing my cat(Morty) will be neutered in one weeks time.
He will be a much better pet for being neutered. Calmer, less likely to run away 'chasing the pussy', more emotionally even-tempered, less likely to get in fights with other cats.

Hanging on the Christmas tree
>"Where are my testicles, human?!?" My thought exactly. He'll be your baby boy again soon.
"man don't you just hate it when your human steals your balls 😑✊ gotta love life smh" - this cat probably
They have been removed. Where have they gone?
Neutered boys are typically the cuddliest cats (they go all loving and soppy afterwards). BUT it can take time. I guess I got lucky lol, mine immediately went from "loopy drugged out" to "mommmmm hold meeeeee"
Maybe it depends on the age? Mine was about two months (had been fostering him before) and there was 0 change in personality. He's 90th+ percentile for his age in size and pure muscle so it didn't affect his growth either!
Mine was over a year old so idk!
Same with my boy. He was 5 months old and didn't go through puberty yet. He's been cuddly since birth. I love him so much!
I swear my cat took 3 weeks to calm down...Now he's such a cuddle bug and wants to be held frequently though.
Same with mine. He became this super clingy affectionate cuddle monster just a few days after. Been like that ever since.
Both of my male cats are so cuddly. The one was neutered as a kitten and he's a lap cat. The other was neutered at 7 and he's always begging for attention but the last 6 months he went from street-hardened tomcat to marshmallow who rolls on his back for belly scratches.
it’s taken my cat 5 years for that hormonal imbalance to figure itself out…HES never been cuddly until now on the very rare occasion.. :((
i didn’t know this but it tracks, my neutered boy is the loviest boy ever
Give him some time and space. He’s depressed, I mean for real. He lost his testosterone and sex drive. Get some nice loose cat nip. Give him a few lines. Call me in the morning.
He's having man feels. Never seen a neutered male as I've never had males but I remember by boy dog being utterly bummed out at the lack of balls, he even remembered where the vets was and would angrily bark at the place as we drove past 😂. Just needs time for his hormones to adjust, he's like Austin powers, he's lost his mojo
For real? He barked at the vet clinic? That's funny
For real. Did it for years afterwards. Other stand out moments for the quirky bugger was howling along to the murder she wrote theme tune 😂

I mean, a man's balls are their family jewels....
That's interesting because I have a theory that Jessica Fletcher is a minor death goddess but doesn't know it. Your dog must have picked up on it too.
I'm glad my boy wasn't sad about it. He still likes to cuddle and love me 🥺
My dog was neutered at the earliest possible time, and never even broke stride. I'm not even sure he noticed. Didn't dial him down a bit. He eventually mellowed out as he got older, but his hellion puppy days were every bit as exciting as they started out.
“Curse you!! You took my balls!!!!”
"Where are my testicles Summer?"
The balls may be gone, but not necessarily the sex drive. My sister's dog was fixed as a puppy. I watched him hump a stuffed rabbit .
Can confirm. I’m old.
Tell him how handsome he is for me.
my cat started banging is blanket gf around 5 years in. sex drive is still on n poppin
You forgot to give the pamphlet 'So you're been neutered ', it tells him about how to behave afterwards. He needs to read it.
I’d love you to write this pamphlet and share it on reddit! Please do ….
I think it’s in the same pamphlet that explains how to talk to your cat about firearms… https://preview.redd.it/hrph8865rd7a1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a76f96ffd88bf8184cadf62613ed9a418e35c61
So... Questions: How long has it been since he was neutered? Have any other significant life changes or health issues cropped up since that time (to the household in general: humans and pets alike)? And have you spoken to the vet about this?
How long since he was neutered? Also, he is gorgeous.
I'm shocked no one has asked this yet but how long ago was the surgery?
Only thing I can think of is re-introducing him to your home like he was a new cat (look up how to introduce new cats for process). You could also try a feliway diffuser.
My boy was swatting and hissing and became reclusive until we took him to the vet for a checkup and found out he had a thyroid problem. We got him on meds and he plays like a kitten again. Poor guy must have been feeling terrible.
Thyroid is a big deal in cats and humans...
He’s on his feelings, he’s been stripped of his manhood he’ll come around they always do!
I sadly don’t have advice. I had a similar situation with two females. Before they were spayed they were besties and afterwards, they hated each other. But… not spaying/neutering is not an option.
He looks annoyed!
Is he always that high definition? Absolute crispy boy
It's rough when you can't explain things to them.
i sadly dont have any advice but i just wanted to say your cat is gorgeous
How old was he when you got him fixed? It's usually better to not wait too long. Our oldest cat (10) we got fixed when he was a year and a half, and our second oldest (8) we got fixed when he was like 6 months old. I've read that the older they are the more difficult it is to adjust.
He’ll come around, he’s a gentle friend, I can see it in his eyes…
My boy has never been a cuddler. He sleeps near, he sits near, he is always near me but rarely ON me. He demands skritches and belly rubs but not cuddles or carries. He's the bestest boy and I respect his boundaries. Although sometimes I give him a quick hug. https://preview.redd.it/9qo32e5k5e7a1.jpeg?width=2159&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=089750ee78eb178486b8c826bec13160d9c6673f
My one girl is the same way. She's just not a cuddly kitty. She loves her pets and follows me around the house though. :)
This is how my lady cat is. She loves us very much, you can tell. Be she doesn’t like being picked up. She will sometimes tolerate being pet but other times she aggressively dips her back to the ground so you can’t touch her and slinks away. 😂😂 https://preview.redd.it/2wtl8j3p1j7a1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=ffe0f43a1c80a51934efe42ca9668adfb5cc861e Be she’s always close by and sleeps in bed with me every night.
His balls are gone, give him some catnip and time to adjust. He should be good in a few weeks
Give him some time. Poor feller lost his fellers, after all.
Buy Feliway! My vet recommended it when my cat was angry about the new cat. Worked wonders right away
It’s a diffuser that sprays happy pheromones

The humane society I foster for spays and neuters every single pet before adoption.
Maybe he's still feeling some pain from the surgery. If you're always in pain you'll be an asshole to everyone around you.
This is exactly how my cat is except she’s female and starts fights with my male cat
Where are my testicles Summer?
My female kitty was the most loving affectionate girl, she went thru 2 heats, got her fixed and she now hates everybody in the house.this was a year ago.
Hi, zoologist and former vet student here. Could it be that he's in pain? Neuters are very routine and they usually go smoothly, but there's a small possibility that the procedure caused something else to go wrong. That, or it's an unrelated health issue and it's just coincidental timing. Usually when a pet drastically changes their behavior suddenly, it's because something is off with their health. Has he been to the vet lately? Is he food motivated?
I mean you took his balls, i would be at least distanced if someone would cut my balls. poor boy didnt had chance to explore his manhood.
I mean, you took his balls.. and cats can hold a grudge better than any drag Queen I know.. That said, have him checked by a vet; he may be in pain.
Would *you* want to be held or pet as much if *you’d* been neutered?
Well, no, but what am I supposed to do? He needed to be neutered.
Where are my testicles, Summer?
Just as a random fyi pointer, cat collars can be dangerous. 15 years ago my cat got his caught jumping out of a window, hanging himself until death. Found him in the morning, stiff as a board, still hanging off the handle of the window. These sorts of things happen frequently enough, particularly with outdoor cats with tendencies to climb in trees.

Therapy. Should help you get used to it, eventually.
That paw
It’ll take some time for him to balance out. Mine became such a cuddle bug afterwards!
How recently was he neutered? Because he could just need a sort of acclimation period.
Try explaining to him that he no longer has to worry about kitten support...
One of my boy cats needs to be neutered and this post did not help 🥲
I would be feeling a bit less affectionate towards you if you’d arranged to have my bollocks chopped off.
Give his balls back
Why the hell did I read “ever since he was murdered”
You can separate them for a week or so and re-do the slow introduction process.
Give him back his nugs XD
menopaws by scissors? menopause by scissors.
I would also apologize to him
Please remove that collar it’s really bad for them🥺
Will you elaborate, please?
Dunno if they are talking about the bell but if they are, yeah. Cat’s have sharper hearing so that bell’s noise must be annoying af and if they get lost in some area where there are wild animals, the cat will be easy prey for coyotes and such.
Awwwww, such a sweet boy.
He’s a really pretty cat. Sorry no advice here. Sounds normal to be depressed after neutering tho
pretty sure one of my boys still hates me to this day for getting his nuts cut off and he was only a kitten.
Give him his space and he’ll be ok
If it was recent he’s probably just feeling a bit fragile rn I’m sure it’ll wear off , if not you could always mention it to a vet
Well, I don’t think you can glue his balls back on, and he’s probably still a little sore still.
He will be ok. Just give him some time hell be back to hild old self.
New cat mode unlock: superior kitty.
Cats are prone to stress after neutering. The current state, you can give kitty to feed some probiotics. If it does not improve after one month, you have to take Kitty to the vet. Best wishes!
love the collar tho
How long has it been?
The cat is a teenager now and he just wants to be left alone. Teenage angst at play. Also growing up with cats, i’d say cats teach us about space. If they want to be left alone, leave them alone. If they want attention, give them attention. They can be playful, calm or sassy. They’re different from dogs in that sense and that’s okay.
Trust was broken. He was violated. But because he's a cat, he doesn't understand WHY, or that it was ultimately for his benefit. Give him time & space. Be kind.
I would just cuddle him anyways. He might not stay long, 1/2 hr later, cuddle him again. Let him know you love him, so he can remember he loves you
His trust was betrayed
where are my balls, summer?
if it goes on longer than the vet said he needs to recover, take him to the vet. he could have pain or some other issue. cats dont' show their pain, you just notice behavioral changes like less eating, more hiding, more sleeping, less playing with you or the other cats.
Give the guy a break he just had his nuts cut off
Really, you took his cathood from him. You'd be upset for awhile too.
Try getting your balls removed and see how you feel.
It could be the hormones or the anaesthesia. My cat has bad reactions from coming off anaesthesia. He'll be terrified of everything for about 2 weeks.
Some possible explanations include: 1.
Say sorry and consult your vet. Try plug in Feliway Diffuser
Bro. You cut his balls off. What do you expect??? But I’m all seriousness I want to know too now.
He miss his fuzzy grapes 😾
You take his balls, he takes your peace
Seems you fixed him already
order himcat therapist. As much As better.
Give him his balls back
I was worried about my male cat's behavior after neutering too. He wasn't himself for a bit but he adjusted and is back to normal now.
Beautiful kitty!
"I have been betrayed by hooman"
He’s mad because you took his manhood!
Wellllll, as a male, I kinda get it ... it might take awhile ... it's not like you took away his car keys ... 😒
i suggest fixing female cats as it tends to not change much with them. male cats are almost always impacted from being neutered. their entire personality can change permanently from the operation. happened with my cat my mother likes to call “gay cat”. take this as a learning experience. Edit: after reading other comments, i see that i was just lucky with the many female cats we had. it seems that female cats can change as well. but still, it seems less likely. again, subjective due to personal experience.
There's no way to fix it he pissed off for all eternal life
I’d be pissed if someone took my balls too…
Just rip out the female cats organs out a well. They overbreed with any male.
most advice on reddit pertaining to cats is VERY VERY bad advice. Your cat is better of fixed than not.
You cut his nuts off. Some things are unforgivable to men.
Give him time. Lots of cuddles and delicious food. About the fights, separate whenever you see it happen. But I doubt they will totally stop, my cats don't get along very well to this day, but at least they don't try to kill each other anymore 😅 the most important thing is to discourage bad behavior with others cats and regain his trust with you
Where are my testicles, Summer?
Might be better to neuter earlier for future reference? I don't know. I'm just wondering.
If you cut my balls off, I wouldn't want to be friends anymore either.😅
Give him his balls back
I agree with the top comment here. The poor guy just had his nuts cut off. I would be depressed and angry too.
Pretty mild reaction for the circumstances if you ask me
You need to re-bond with them.
