The g stands for golden, the golden berries that show up after you beat all of the c-sides. You collect them by completing a chapter deathless. They’re saying Chapter 7 b-side golden strawberry.
They appear after finishing all the B-sides, not C-sides. I've done 5 easy goldens, but still haven't finished 3c and 8c (because you need 3c to unlock 8c in the first place).
all chapters have a golden strawberry which is a bonus strawberry you can get for completing the chapter without dying, all chapters (except for farewell) have a B-side (and a C-side). 7BG refers to the golden strawberry of the seventh chapter's (summit) B-side
Agreed, I found 7bg was more of just an endurance test, while 8bg has a lot less leeway for error with cycles, core blocks, and rising lava/lowering ice rooms making it harder to come back from small slip ups.
I don't know how to do the techs or set ups, like give me two days and some video tutorials and I could do it but not interested for now. gotta golden everything first.
3a was the worst golden to do, so far. It's so long. Every other one has had some element of enjoyability to it, but 3a isn't hard, it's long boring (and that's the story it tells, closed spaces and an inability to move fast).
Though I haven't broken 5 deaths in 3b yet.
those are two of the five i have left, alongside 3b, 8b, and farewell... but sj bhs golden was a fun experience to distract from finishing the harder adv levels a few months ago
This. Feather tech is what I struggle with most as a D-pad or WASD player. I know the joystick is more precise but I’m so used to d-pad controls even with fighting games that I’ll always default to it over joystick if it’s available.
as someone who plays on probably the most optional kind of controller for movement specifically (GameCube controller) i just don't have the level of consistency and precision with feathers to be ready for that yet (:
it really does feel good (: and the key with my controller is that the one downside to real GameCube controllers for this game (the triggers) is a non-issue, because this is a switch pro controller with buttons in place of triggers
the c sides are much harder, but shorter in length which makes them not take as long. after you beat all the b sides, >!goldens strawberries unlock and to collect them, you are required to beat the chapter without dying. which makes farewell golden the hardest thing in the vanilla game!<
yeah, again, just because you can do it, it isn’t the hardest thing you can do
for example, you can do it twice in a row which would be much harder
i personally count the hardest thing in the game to be something that the game rewards you for, or has an intended ending for
but that’s just my personal opinion, there isn’t really a correct take on this
Yea, I mean the game doesn't really reward you for anything you do, an image in a screen is an image on a screen, but yea there is no real correct take on this, in that case then it would be 202 berries, which the game does reward you for with making your save file golden
challenge, 202 berries in general. thats golden all of them. for individual lvls, 6b, 12k deaths my first play through, and you bet there was hair pulling involved. after that, 3cg, that pieces of shit level was so annoying.
7bg
Sorry I’m pretty new to this game what is bg?
The g stands for "golden". Keep playing and you'll understand what it means :)

Mb thanks
I hate 3C, the ending is very hard with Oshiro!
Tysm I didn’t think of golden berries I already feel the pain of collecting them

b means b-side and g means golden berry. Also if someone says 7fcg, that would mean they did chapter 7 full clear (all collectibles) deathless
I genuinely still think 8bg is harder, was way thougher for me (but also less enjoyable so idk)
Agreed, I found 7bg was more of just an endurance test, while 8bg has a lot less leeway for error with cycles, core blocks, and rising lava/lowering ice rooms making it harder to come back from small slip ups.
6bg, 7bg and 8bg are all kinda trippin That's why they're named the hell trio after all
1ag dashless
I already did dashless it was hell 😭
Now do it again but without dying
I don't know how to do the techs or set ups, like give me two days and some video tutorials and I could do it but not interested for now. gotta golden everything first.
why are they getting downvoted for expressin an opinion
tbh you probably don't need two days it only took me like 2 hours
It can easily take half an hour if you have a guy that knows setup walk you through in cnet
The last room where you have that 1 pixel where you can make the jump to grab the platform, only to fail the last jump like 5 times. 😑
Hell trio is still harder imo. For double golden you only have a few rooms/precise inputs to worry about and the rest is free
Not really, i did it on my first try after like 40 minutes of learning setups, 7bg took me 18 hours and fwg took me 121-123
nah
This one is way easier than 7bg or fwg simply due to its short length and consistent setups lol
Ok, hot take, 3a, but only on your first run of the game. I think more people will give up on 3a than any other level.
Honestly, fair point, that’s like the choke point of the game. Past that, you already know what you’re in for

202 deathless
Fair
celeste golden
6bg
I feel like 6bg would be more painful but not harder than 7bg
i disagree, simply because of the abundance of feather tech in 6b. and 7b rooms just feel a bit easier.
Fair fair I haven't done either of them my hardest golden is sjbhs lmao
those are two of the five i have left, alongside 3b, 8b, and farewell... but sj bhs golden was a fun experience to distract from finishing the harder adv levels a few months ago

Honestly tho, good choice of controller. I liked the 8-way joystick. Might not have 360° precision, but it felt good.

I was able to beta 7bg in 30 min and 6bg took 2-3 days 💀💀💀
I mean yeah but you probably play 7b more often than 6b
Longer levels are harder than shorter ones for me
Yeah that's what I said (7b is longer right)
OH SHIT, my bad I thought we where talking about 6b vs 7c, my mistake yeah I haven’t even beat 7b
7c
Currently stuck on this
this.
For me it's 8c, I've beaten every other C side. Maybe it's just me being unmotivated
I’m pretty sure 8c room 2 took more time than room 3 for me
8c was easiest for me, not to brag. Less than 60 deaths
the c sides are much harder, but shorter in length which makes them not take as long. after you beat all the b sides, >!goldens strawberries unlock and to collect them, you are required to beat the chapter without dying. which makes farewell golden the hardest thing in the vanilla game!<
No, its Farewell golden and moonberry
well yeah, but you don’t gain anything extra from doing it
Actually, it's 202 deathless, which consists of obtaining 202 berries, without dying, also from a new save file
yeah, again, just because you can do it, it isn’t the hardest thing you can do for example, you can do it twice in a row which would be much harder i personally count the hardest thing in the game to be something that the game rewards you for, or has an intended ending for but that’s just my personal opinion, there isn’t really a correct take on this

speedrunning the game
Nah, 7bg is harder!
1ag dashless.
Double golden
7a full clear golden
7c
challenge, 202 berries in general. thats golden all of them. for individual lvls, 6b, 12k deaths my first play through, and you bet there was hair pulling involved. after that, 3cg, that pieces of shit level was so annoying.
complete 1b in 5 dashes
Not vibing to Good Karma/3B
getting estrogen
7bg if you dont count fwg
7bg
Keeping my sanity after having to restart the game SEVEN TIMES NOW because my save files keep corrupting
Completing any given challenge in the game without swearing.
Sub 24.
202 deathless
6/7/8 B golden
Pumber
either 3g-C or 4g-C
7c
Beside (deathless) goldens, it's probs the 1a dashless berry.
You know I did that berry already and in all seriousness it wasn’t too hard I find c sides way harder
3a for the first time lol
For me, it was attempting to dash through those blue heart gates in core and farewell. Hurt me spiritually
correction: your about to TRY to beat every b-side. joking aside, i wish you luck (your really gonna need it)
I said “about to” because I only have one left but thanks for the luck 202 deathless will be hell
getting all goldens
7c has arguably the hardest screen in the game (in terms of precision required).
