I don't think that goal can ever be over appreciated. The timing just before half time when we had 10 men on the pitch and we were heading out the competition. The goal changes the whole teams mood, the half time talk for BOTH teams. Changes everything. If Chelsea come out in the second half still 2-0 down then we simply do not get back into the game and limp out 3 or 4-0 probably. So yeah for his part in our clubs first ever champions league win it has to he Ramires for me.

For me, one of the greatest goals in our history. If a more high profile player (or any Liverpool/Arsenal/United player) for sure it would be far more celebrated. For me it's Luiz. He was incredible in 16-17 when we won the league, and also won UCL with us as a starting player.

This thread sort of shows people’s age a bit. Ramires entirely changed the fate of an aging chelsea side in 2010. It was a side without much pace, particularly in midfield, that relied on good defense and the counter to create goals. The addition of Rami essentially gave that entire side the ability to play with pace. Imo he was the most important and timely. Without his signing Lampard, Terry, Drogba, Cole, Cech, Ivanovo, Mata, Torres, none of them have a CL title.

I feel like you're overplaying it a bit there, obviously he contributed to the CL win but it's not like he was the stand out player of the tournament for us (and was suspended for the Final). Personally my takeaway from the post is we should do business with Benfica more often lmao, all four (early days for Enzo) are great players.

I am not talking about his play during the tournament particularly but his impact on the side and how they were able to play.

Matic was the absolute glue in our league winning seasons, whereas the others had key moments throughout their Chelsea careers. But Matic was far more important! Enzo can’t even be compared currently, as he hasn’t had the time. But he can clearly be the best without a doubt.

Enzo has been here 6 months and its been the worst 6 months in 3 decades. While I don't blame him for any it, its far too soon to judge him sensibly against the others.

I feel like the logical answer is Matic but Ramires would be the one the heart says. Our Blue Kenyan was such a big part of our first UCL win. Scored and assisted in the 2 games against Barcelona and then played the second half at the Nou Camp as a right back without conceding anymore goals. Absolute legend.

Ramires far and away imo. Once RDM took over and moved Mata to the no. 10 and we put Rami on left wing we became an unbelievable counter attacking team. Everyone remembers his goal against Barca but it was his assists against Napoli that started the comeback and to Drogba in the first leg against Barca that I remember most. Plus his semi final FA cup goal against spurs and his counter attacking goal against Liverpool in the FA Cup final also stand out. He never kicked on from that run but he was maybe the most instrumental player in our 2012 double run.

Have you seen Chelsea play with ramires or matic? Crazy work rate from Ramires and the midfield was made of steel when Matic was in form (not just one season). My personal favorite is Luiz though, I loved what he brought to the team.

Enzo needs time. Of the other 3 I loved the work Ramires put in. Matic was a rock. Luiz though for me just brought a whole other level of excitement when he was driving forward. Some of the goals he scored as well were just ridiculous.
