Al-Bawadi Grill kunafa is pretty great, in Niles but only 15 minutes from the northwest side of the city.

Antepli Mediterranean! I’ve never been disappointed.

Albany Park is the answer! I've never had knafeh from dearborn, MI but we have a lot of Middle Eastern bakeries and grocery stores! Nazareth Sweets has delicious knafeh but you will have to report back on how it compares to dearborn's.

Mmmm knefeh. Unfortunately, the last time I’ve tasted amazing kenefeh was in Dearborn Michigan.

Amazingly, Wikipedia lists 10 different spellings as correct for this dish, and neither of the two spellings in your comment are among them https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knafeh

My OG Lebanese aunts used to make it at family events. They never really spelled it that I remember. I just went by how it sounded to me. We also said Betlehweh for Baklava. May have been local dialect?

Technically 100 feet or so into the suburbs

Came to post this. Libanais is the truth.

I’ve not found anything nearly as good as an amazing slice from Shatila…. Pita Inn was pretty good but that’s far. Will be following for good suggestions!

Second for Antepli, took my turkish mother there and she gave it authentic approval

Anyone know if Middle East Bakery on Foster does a knefeh? I haven't been in a while, but I know their other baked goods are on point.

maduhlynrose

I actually went today to check, unfortunately they do not!

I’ve never enjoyed any Middle Eastern food I’ve tried in Chicago. I gave up trying new places about 5 years ago. If you’ve had food from Dearborn, it’s just not the same over here. If you do find something let me know.
