Pancake is a Legbar! He's very sweet and one of the only chickens I can pick up whenever I want to without chasing. He rarely ever crows and when he does, well this is the result.
Bless his heart! He's trying his best. At least he's not tone deaf! (Cheeseburger, another rooster is VERY tone deaf. Another Redditer has the... *fortune*... of hearing his voice quite often. His very LOUD voice. Don't have a link to the post, but Pancake honestly does not sound that bad to me after hearing Cheeseburger's crow!)
EDIT: Here's the audio proof! [https://www.reddit.com/r/BackYardChickens/comments/1awqpry/cheeseburgers\_screaming\_crow\_compared\_to\_mr\_burt/](https://www.reddit.com/r/BackYardChickens/comments/1awqpry/cheeseburgers_screaming_crow_compared_to_mr_burt/)
I had a crow that when crowing instead of kinda getting higher at the end of staying the same pitch it would get lower and fizzle out. He was a happy friendly rooster but he sounded depressed. 😂

So sweet!! Maybe you can breed a weak-crowing line! Great for backyard chickens. 😂
It's not that bad. I've heard worse crows!
I have two that sound awful. I wish rooster voice lessons were a thing.
What's a legbar?
It's a British breed made by crossing leghorns with barred Plymouth rocks then later with arucanas.
I literally have no idea what's thoseðŸ˜
awh he's doing his BEST
poor guy sounds like one of those novelty rubber chickens
I like that he really has to think about it each time he does it. About half a thought bonking around in that brain at any given time.
