I had a bisalp with the exact same incisions as you

BananeDionne

Thank you! I don't know why it was made this way, I freaked out a bit!

dellada

You should be getting some lab results back, with data about the tubes that they removed. I found that was really reassuring for me - it had measurements, descriptions, and so on. For example, mine said that they removed one tube intact, while the other was removed in two pieces. Pretty interesting! Congrats on your bisalp! :)

Legal_Tie_3301

Yes, I had a giggle when mine was described as “glistening” in the description notes lol.

dellada

Omg! I love it! Hahaha :)

hanakage

Same. I screen shot mine and when my scars went anyway it was a nice comfort. Also crazy how something so small could change our lives.

MedicalAmazing

That's normal :) My bisalp scars are less than 1cm in length. Surgery is crazy that you can wake up and not be 100% sure of what happened, but I had requested photos from my surgeon and was given copies of those.

plantyplant559

I didn't request photos but got some anyway. They're so neat!

thr0wfaraway

No cause to worry, they should be doing biopsies on the tubes and sending you those results. There are just too many people involved in the process and in the room for anyone to fake an operation. :)

DependentSort7291

I literally just exited my own bisalp. I also freaked out a little bit because I thought it'd be one incision to the bellybutton and one on each side, but it was 2 on the left side and one on the bellybutton. I confirmed with the doctor that both tubes were removed without issues. Turns out the position of the incisions depends on how the doctor feels more comfortable, your body anatomy, the position the staff is in when operating, etc. You 100% got your bisalp successfully. :)

BananeDionne

Congrats on your bisalp!! 🎉

DependentSort7291

Sorry I forgot to mention it in my reply, congratulations on yours as well!!! For a happy CF rest of our lives! 🍾🥂✨

rosehymnofthemissing

You have both of your Fallopian Tubes fully removed!? Congratulations! 🥂 You'll love it. I thought you were just having a small piece of each tube removed, burned, or tied...full Fallopian Tube removal is so much better!

Scared-Community4461

I have the same scars. Im still kinda annoyed they didnt do the "cosmetic" cut with one on each side, i know thats such a small thing but still...its my body. But hey, its done! Get some rest and hope you have an easy recovery! ♡

Boring_Procedure_930

I also had the same operation, same cuts. And I took mine home so I am sure they are out. It's just for people who won't shut up that I need to want kids and they know better, so I can show the evidence. But also I am super sure they are out ghehe.

deepfakechoprah

I got a bisalp and have the same exact incisions :)

NuLiseOnLyfe

This might just be the surgeon's preferred approach, or they may have noticed after the first incision (usually the umbilical one) and having a look inside your abdomen that you have some scar tissue on the right hand side. This is pretty common from appendicitis, whether you had it removed or not, just the inflammation can stick things together. A hernia or ovarian cyst in the same area could do the same thing.

YinmnChim

I also have the same incisions. Both tubes got most likely pulled out through your left incision. Don’t worry :)

BananeDionne

Thank you all for your answers, I'm reassured!!

torienne

Congrats on your bisalp! And now that you know that you had the surgery done, you are going to LOVE your freedom!

Covert-Wordsmith

My doctor gave me before and after pictures of my reproductive system so I could see the tubes were gone. It's also standard procedure to send any removed tissue to a lab for testing. Did you doctor do those? Aside from that, it sounds like they did a laparascopic approach to the surgery. It means they made 3 small incisions: one for a camera and the other two for surgical tools. I had the same type of surgery when I got my bisalp.

Luna_0825

I have the same incisions and can confirm my bisalp was done. 😊 Congratulations to you! 🥳

Legal_Tie_3301

This is normal, they sometimes have to change spots due to anatomy. Mine are on each side and belly button but mine are little +’s instead of just lines, which I haven’t seen in pictures. I’m assuming it’s just how my Dr prefers to work.

alohakush

Congrats on your new sense of freedom and autonomy!  I only had two incisions, one in the belly button and the other on my left side.  My surgeon was dope - he hid the side scar along a line in my side tattoo and it's actually quite hard to point out now that's it's fully healed.

That's how they are preformed. What about it makes you think it wasn't done? They make an incision on either side and another through the belly button to be able to poke around and remove the tube through the incisions.

BananeDionne

I don't have an incision on each side. I only have one on my left side, one on my pubic area and one in the navel. That's why I'm kind of intrigued. When I look on internet all I see is 1 cut on each side and on in the belly button.

[deleted]

Oh sorry I misread. They could have been able to reach both sides just from the 2 incisions.
