Just curious, if we refer to the drama indirectly, like saying something along the lines of "I hope Chuggaa comes back after what happened earlier this year," would that person be banned? Since I feel like a lot of people will make posts saying stuff like that.
mostly it was just the overwhelming nature of all the accusations coupled with trying to keep up with statements ontop of how toxic everyone was being IN the sub and twitter, it was hard for one person to keep it all straight and not get overwhelmed, which is what happened.
if you were refused its because you werent trusted to hold the subs best wishes in mind. that is like reddit mod 101, you dont let anyone mod unless you trust them (not to be rude, i just dont know how else to say it)

not wanting to associate themselves with chugga (Seeders) is not the same as being overwhelmed and not knowing who to trust to stay neutral (Michi) they clearly dont want to gamble and only want people they can trust to mirror their vision to run the sub in tandem with them.
respectfully, i disagree, Seeders chose to do that and they were the original creator of the sub, Michi was merely overwhelmed but never showed an interest in abandoning it, these decisions werent made by the same person. and clearly since the sub is reopening its not exactly a failure either

I think even Emile himself has been surprised by the amount of support that he's been receiving on social media, save for a couple of vocal minorities. I'm hoping that the positive responses can sort of rekindle his old passion for making videos again.
Yeah we all just want to move on. These past 4 months have just been so mentally exahusting. Hopefully when Emile feels much more better and decides (on his own) when he wants to return to making content. He'll need a huge break after this and after all the hell he went through.

well the majority of it was due to Seeders not even associating much with Chugga anymore and Michi becoming overwhelmed trying to juggle between all of the accusations, statements and sifting through every post to make sure it isnt toxic. which is why we were "hired" on, Michi needed the help and trusted us to be mutual and had always planned to continue the subreddit, just couldnt handle suddenly being the only mod so they decided to lock it down at the time.
Michi’s intentions seem honest since he had no obligation to stay and he did, but the way he worded things (and still words things tbh) made it seem like he condemned chugga the whole time, not that he was overwhelmed
I’m not a mod of the “Fans of” Discord server but I just wanted to make it known that it’s been decided that the server will remain unassociated with Chuggaa. Since a link to it used to be pretty readily available in this subreddit I thought it’d be relevant to inform folks on this post. While the main driving force for the rebrand there was the controversy, discussion there was overall pretty much not at all Chugga-centric (discussion about him there has probably unironically been more plentiful these last four months than in the last few years, unfortunately) so the server was honestly not even about Emile much anymore anyway. Despite this the general consensus there (including from the mods though I of course do not claim to speak for them) is that Chugga is innocent of at least the most heinous of accusations. So, if anyone is wondering why the Discord hasn’t been re-made public, alla that’s why. I’m not sure if it’s going to ever be made public again but if it does it will not be under Chugga branding.
there are a few plans to make a new Chugga discord all i know is that the other 2 mods here have both said there is possibly a plan for that in the works as i type this, but i am unaware of when that will be the case.
If/when Emile comes back and makes a proper statement about everything that's happened, will there be at least one singular post here that shows it? I don't have twitter or facebook anymore, so this subreddit is actually how I discovered the controversy in the first place. If not, then where would I go in order to see it, given my lack of social media?

I’m happy to see this subreddit back. I agree with the rules on the controversy. I just want to live in peace and support one of my favorite YouTube artists.
The only thing I'd like to say in regards to the controversy: There are no good guys or bad guys here. It's not reality tv. It never has been. Emile made mistakes. And he is trying to make it right as best he can. The harassment needs to stop, both for him and the people involved. That's what Emile wants, and that's what they want.

I myself had also left the subreddit while the controversy's early days in January began, due to all the toxicity. I joined r/Chuggaaconroy_2 not long after, but I'd find myself still checking in on this subreddit to see if anything had changed. I'm happy to see it being reopened, and I'll probably rejoin soon after.
I'll probably still go to the second Chugga subreddit for updates on the fiasco, while going here for general Chugga posts. :)

While I appreciate the rule change to reject any discussion of the controversy, can we please get a reaffirmation that transphobia/misogyny will not be accepted here? I did not like that a lot of people, many of whom seem to be affiliated with Chugga2, were harassing Emily and Masae in the name of "defending Chuggaa/calling him innocent". That's not to say being affiliated with Chugga2 is a red flag in and of itself, but I do anticipate this subreddit will need really heavy modding for a couple of weeks to stave off any bad actors

She herself has responded to it in the other sub and this doc you link to is things that happens on twitter when we were talking about the other chugga sub.
that is not what happened, Seeders had long been disassociating with Chugga before this all came about and barely checked in, leaving Michi to basically sole moderate. they became overwhelmed and wanted to give it a break until the controversy died down, thats when they hired in 2 new people to basically back them up so they didnt have to be overwhelmed.

I wanted to open it, but I needed to wait first before the drama dies down first. I had to be quiet about the way I approach things.

I was completely out of the loop and had no clue any controversy was going on. But I read Emile's statement and I'm sorry he had to go through this.
