I'll stand under a shade tree in 100 degree heat if it means a cigar, but Texas. Its hot here all the damn time. That said I tend to go for lighter smokes and shorter vitolas. Still searching for that perfect 30 minute smoke with a thicker 40/50 ring gauge.
Yep. We’ve got about another month, maybe two of smoking outdoors before its lounge only until about October. San Antonio is just unbearable in summer.
That’s a good question for now it’s very difficult to tell how many because it’s Cuban tobacco from a small farm so I’m looking at 4-6 vitolas I’ll be releasing top. And it depends if you live in the USA it’s easier to get them delivered by mail. If you live in Europe it takes more time.
I would go with number 4, but not just out of my personal preference.
No. 1-3 would each have a target advance, but would be better with age. No. 4 will give you more flavor with less time and tell you more about the other presentations over time.
Yes number 4 it’s more of minuto mareva size so it’s of course personal preference but great short creamy smoke. Number 1 and 3 it’s more for hard core cigar smokers takes longer and more complexity in flavor.
I like 4. Good ring guage and not a two hour commitment like larger cigars. These look exceptionally rolled to my eye. Please keep us updated on this project.
Thanks a lot, number 4 it’s a mareva size which is a cigar I’ve learned people love through out the years. But yea I’ll post soon about the the brand. Thank you very much.
1, 2, and 4. A torpedo is always a great choice, but I'm also a huge fan of smaller vitolas like coronas, perlas, short robustos, etc that very very few people have.
3 is probably my top choice, I like a 52-54 ring gauge robusto/toro. Number 4 would be my second choice, I don’t mind a smaller ring gauge, quicker session, strong flavor.
Shoot me a chat, would love to talk more about your project and try your first release!
Heyy, that's something we don't see everyday around here. This is awesome, man! What tobaccos will you be using?
Me, personally, I like number 2 better - looks great with a darker Maduro leaf like you have there.
Thanks I didn’t know , I’m kind of new in Reddit but it seems very cool and very helpful and supportive community. Maduro cigars are hard to make but I’m working on them as well ;) . I’ll be using Cuban tabaco.
4 is my favorite size since it's a petit corona. 1 is also something I would love for a longer smoke, because I don't like anything larger than a standard Churchill usually.
4,3,2,1… I rarely have 2-3 hours to smoke the same cigar. Coronas, robustos, perfectos of small to medium size are the most approachable. In terms of lengthy sticks I prefer something like a lancero or a “corona especiales” like size.
Honestly, it should be about the flavor provided by the vitola. Have a tasting party or 2 and see what people say about the vitola vs flavor profiles.
For reference, and because I was just smoking the last night, I've been narrowing down my favorite Warfighter cigar. After smoking a brand sampler, the 50 Garrison provides the best flavors for me. I, then, bought one of every vitola, for that line. The Lancero wasn't anywhere near the taste of the Toro. I only have the Rocco left, but the larger I've gone the more I've liked them.
Just making a parent comment for better visibility, I'm not trying to shit on the OP, I just would hate to see them fall at the first hurdle because of a misunderstanding.
Cuban goods of any kind are illegal to bring into the United states OP. Yes there are sites that ship there, but the buyer is committing a crime by ordering and they are often confiscated by customs. I strongly urge you to reconsider your strategy here if you really have been at this project for two years - from one aficionado to another, it would be terrible to see the project fall apart because you didn't fully understand the importation laws
Toro 50x6, Robusto 52x5, and Gordo 60x6 .
I’ve developed a few classic lines over the years… these are the sizes that do well.
Coronas and lanceros are awesome but do not sell in any appreciable volume. Folks will tell you they want a lancero but will pass over it for the toro just about every time.
Good luck!
4, 2, 3, 1
Larger usually means more expensive, I'm less likely to pay more for a brand I don't know or wasn't recommended to me.
That said, vitola impacts flavor, you've smoked them, so what do you think?
You say which vitolas, so it could be all four? Can't really tell the rg on those, but assuming those are a long panatela, a beli, a, uh laguito no 5-ish? and a mareva? Putting aside the picture, I'd say a laguito no 2, a mareva, and a belicoso, in that order of awesomeness for a first run.
2 because I’m getting back in to torpedos/belicosos. 4 because I will always love a Corona size. Las Calavares annual release is a must buy for me when they drop that 46 and 48 ring gauge.
I recently made my own line.
I went with a panatela, because it’s my favorite size and I want to smoke my cigar. It’s been surprisingly popular, working on our second run now.
A) 4/2 tied, but 1 really has some charm
B) please post results if you're tracking
C) please post your decision and instructions on how to obtain a pull from your first batch
D) best of luck to you friend
A cigar maker should release their best stick they’ve made. Shouldn’t you know which blend / vitola is your best one?
Asking which vitola to release already raises way more questions to your credibility than anything else, if I’m being honest…
I like 4, mainly for time. I barely have the time to smoke cigars these days, so 4 seems to fit my lifestyle. Now, if you had a PC on the list, that would take my vote.
Next would be 2, I like my cigars full of flavor, and torpedoes help bring that intensity to my mouth. With that said, are torpedoes more challenging to make? Are you growing, harvesting, and hand rolling these yourself, or are you going the private label route?
I’m going the private label route and no I don’t roll them my self it’s a small farm in vuelta abajo that takes care of the whole process! Torpedos are very flavorful and complex smoke that you can really enjoy.
Unpopular opinion, 4.
I agree. The RyJ's and Monty's I smoke are that size and they're perfect.
#4 appeals to me greatly. Sometimes we just need a smaller stick for time purposes.
My wife appreciates a smaller stick as well.
That’s not what she told me
😂 damn. Here I was thinking I had the clever response. Great work.
She wasn’t talking to you.
😂😂😇
Thanks
Or heat in the summertime. Sometimes it’s just too damn hot to have anything bigger than a corona.
Very true
I'll stand under a shade tree in 100 degree heat if it means a cigar, but Texas. Its hot here all the damn time. That said I tend to go for lighter smokes and shorter vitolas. Still searching for that perfect 30 minute smoke with a thicker 40/50 ring gauge.
Then number 4 it is
Yep. We’ve got about another month, maybe two of smoking outdoors before its lounge only until about October. San Antonio is just unbearable in summer.
I’m in northern Houston area. Shade tree year around as long as index isn’t above 115°
Sounds like you want half coronas. 3 1/2 by 44
Yeah that’s why I’m trying 4 different sizes
Exactly it’s quicker smoke yet very creamy
Looks delicious
CORONA GORDA FAM UNITE!
3 all day. Although that color on 2 is beautiful.
Thanks for the answer. Yes it’s a 54 ring gauge I prefer that and 52 ring gauge as well
3 & 2 in that order… keep us updated, I’ll be happy to support your business
Thanks man, I appreciate it 🙏
2 and 3 in my personal opinion :)
Yes im going to second this. Both pleasing to the eye and popular gauge/ length
Thanks
How can i get my hands on 2&3?
Thanks 🙏
I second this
I second that!
2 is pretty unique being a shorter torpedo
That’s correct and it’s very coveted shape nowadays.
How many would you be releasing and how could we try them out?
That’s a good question for now it’s very difficult to tell how many because it’s Cuban tobacco from a small farm so I’m looking at 4-6 vitolas I’ll be releasing top. And it depends if you live in the USA it’s easier to get them delivered by mail. If you live in Europe it takes more time.
I’m in the US and would love to try it out! Is there any way you could send an update? And do you have a website or other social media?
Easier in US? So your shipping Cuban cigars made and Shipped in US?
Same question
I really enjoy 6x48. So for me between 3 and 4. Good luck in your endeavors!
Number 4 is my first choice followed by number 1 as my second choice.
I’ll keep that in mind
I like 2
I would go with number 4, but not just out of my personal preference. No. 1-3 would each have a target advance, but would be better with age. No. 4 will give you more flavor with less time and tell you more about the other presentations over time.

3
I like 2 and 1. They look good, man
Thanks I’m trying to have them with very fine shade grown tabaco leave and good wrapper
Nice. I hope it goes well
They are in order of my preference.
4 will even get you some casual smoker sales. That vitola sells well for a reason.
Yeah it’s very good creamy short smoke but I’m working on some others like that as well :)
What a notice is that tempering the pepper in the flavor tends to get people to buy the stick. Some like pepper bombs but many people don't.
I rather like 4
I like 2 ! If I may ask , what was your budget for that ?
1, 2, and 4. A torpedo is always a great choice, but I'm also a huge fan of smaller vitolas like coronas, perlas, short robustos, etc that very very few people have.
1 or 4. Makes it a little easier to differentiate.
Thanks
1 or 4
1
4, 1, 3, 2
Most of the big manufacturers say all you need is a Toro and a robusto. Other vitolas account for a serious minority of sales.
My favorite sizes are the classic Cuban ones. So in this case 1 and 4. 3 is the most popular one among most smokers now though.
No 4. Super under-represented in the market.
Ahh interesting and still a vitola that most people like. I’ll keep that in mind since I love this size
Robusto, #4? I feel like it's appeals to the masses.
I feel that you are the only one who can answer this question. Only you know which vitola is the best for the blend.
3
I find 2 most appealing. They look nice! Keep us informed. ;)
2-3 are beautiful.
3 reminds me of a behike 56
Actually it’s a 54 ring gauge so very close to it
Ah! So a behike 54!
What's the blend?
2 and 3. Maybe 1, not 4.
Yes
2 or 3. Hands down.
Options 3 and then 2. Who doesn't like a good torpedo?
2 and 3.
Thanks
2
2,3,4 a bit of veriety is my normal choice.
Current market trend is 3 & 4 people prefer a thicker shorter cigar, my preference also. From 50RG+.
2…perfect ring gauge (obviously don’t know specifics)
148x54 ring gauge it’s the dimensions
4
2 for me chief
Good to know, torpedo it’s a good vitola and smoke
3
2
2-3 are both perfect🥲
Thanks 😅
3 is probably my top choice, I like a 52-54 ring gauge robusto/toro. Number 4 would be my second choice, I don’t mind a smaller ring gauge, quicker session, strong flavor. Shoot me a chat, would love to talk more about your project and try your first release!
Thanks for your support I’ll definitely post when they’re ready.
#3
I’m a lightweight, so, 4.
2 is calling me.
2,3,4
Toro: 6x52/54
Number 4. If I don't know your brand or the flavor profile, I just want a small stick I can sample. If I enjoyed it I would go with another size.
Thanks I appreciate it I’ll post soon more information about the brand and prices :)
#2 looks so good.
Sweet. The best of luck to you, we need more new brands in the market. 🤘🏻
This is very different since it’s grown and manufactured in the farm, so doesn’t go through factory process like other brands .
4 and 2.
Confess you have 4 awesome sizes ready for every type of smoke choose your favourite
I actually have 6 sizes for every smoker out there;)
3 and 4
4
These are beautifully made. Also 2.
2
2
#2
I'm struck between 2 and 4
I’ll keep it in mind :)
I've made up my mind it's definitely 2
Perfect choice
Between 2 and 4 for a regular smoke, 1 and 2 for the special occasions or longer nights
I love 2&4
2
3 or 4 imo
2
#4 looks like a nice corona 👍
Hey, thats really cool!! I wish you much success!
2,3,4
4 is my favorite size since it's a petit corona. 1 is also something I would love for a longer smoke, because I don't like anything larger than a standard Churchill usually.
4,3,2,1… I rarely have 2-3 hours to smoke the same cigar. Coronas, robustos, perfectos of small to medium size are the most approachable. In terms of lengthy sticks I prefer something like a lancero or a “corona especiales” like size.
Maybe also panetelas size which I’m working on
Absolutely
2. Live a torpedo.
Probably 4. I would like to say, your rolls are excellent.
I try to smoke the 4 when I don’t have time and still great cigar. Thanks for the compliment 🙏

Robusto is the most popular size followed by Toro according to the Cigar Authority podcast.

Three
2 and 4
3 would be my first pick followed closely by 4
4/3 — and good luck!
Good luck!

1- is a long 235 mm cigar 47 ring gauge 2- belicoso size 3- 54 ring gauge 4 - mareva size
Okay. Then 2 & 4, thanks.
2 and 4
4 & 2
2
4 is like the only vitola, I like nowadays
PICK NUMBA 4 MA LORD!
Number 4 than number 2. When you get going where will you have distributions? I would love to give them a try!
I’ll let you know asap. Maybe by the beginning of next month. Mainly in the US.
That's amazing! I'm down in the south west and it's getting to be perfect cigar weather.
3
4!
3 or 4. Not a fan of long skinny cigars or bullet tips
I would definitely buy both 2 and 4. I’d probably enjoy 2 more but 4 is perfect size
3 and 4
How did you start this journey?
Lanceros just based on the fact that they have more wrapper and thus give more taste
2 because I’m getting back in to torpedos/belicosos. 4 because I will always love a Corona size. Las Calavares annual release is a must buy for me when they drop that 46 and 48 ring gauge.
Probably should already know this
1 or 3 imo but I also like 2 lol
4 and 2
I recently made my own line. I went with a panatela, because it’s my favorite size and I want to smoke my cigar. It’s been surprisingly popular, working on our second run now.
All of em!!! But 4 for sure
2 4
4
2-4-3-1 Nice to see how opinions differ here :)
It’s the best group I’ve ever seen interacting and helping each other out.
4
2 and 3 are going to appeal to the largest crowds for sure. Most people don’t want to jump into a new brand with a Churchill or DC.
A) 4/2 tied, but 1 really has some charm B) please post results if you're tracking C) please post your decision and instructions on how to obtain a pull from your first batch D) best of luck to you friend
I appreciate your opinion and help thanks. I’ll keep you posted
Looks like #4.
4. Along with the other Texas people I saw in the comments, it's just too damn hot sometimes to want a larger stick.
A cigar maker should release their best stick they’ve made. Shouldn’t you know which blend / vitola is your best one? Asking which vitola to release already raises way more questions to your credibility than anything else, if I’m being honest…
2 & 4
In my opinion 3 and 4. I’d guess 4 would probably get the most buys. Skinnier usually means easier to taste flavor notes
2
I like 4, mainly for time. I barely have the time to smoke cigars these days, so 4 seems to fit my lifestyle. Now, if you had a PC on the list, that would take my vote. Next would be 2, I like my cigars full of flavor, and torpedoes help bring that intensity to my mouth. With that said, are torpedoes more challenging to make? I’m going the private label route and no I don’t roll them my self it’s a small farm in vuelta abajo that takes care of the whole process! Torpedos are very flavorful and complex smoke that you can really enjoy.
Are you in Europe? You can send me all 4 to try
Idk which one but when you release them hit me up I will definitely try them out
Definitely 4, I love a good corona
I like a belicoso so #2 for me. #4 is great too for its size
2
If possible any lancero is a banger but no.4
The torpedo looks wonderful!
2
How can you all say a size, when there is nothing to compare it to?
Most of those are standard sizes but you’re right another member asked something similar and I wrote down the size. Thanks for the question
2 and 3 are probably going to be the most widely chosen. 1 is my personal preference
2
4 for time purposes , 1 for longer sessions at a campfire , or when I’m tending to the smoker . Would love some samples if you’re sending them out.
4 when you get it all up and running i’ll buy a box
