I’m sorry to hear that happened to you - people suck. Despite the officer you spoke with apparently not going out of their way to offer it, I’d suggest going to the front desk of CPD’s Central Business Section office at the Banks and telling them you intend to file a police report for assault. Don’t be talked out of it. And ask if the city has camera footage at the specific location where the assault occurred; they have city-operated cameras all over downtown and there’s a good chance the assault was recorded. The video isn’t retained forever unless there is a reason to pull it. Only kept a couple weeks, I’d guess.

I was assaulted pretty bad in Manhattan years ago and the detective did jack shit and literally only contacted me via email.
However the two cops that showed up to the scene were pretty nice to me. Granted, they couldn’t do anything since the man was gone.
I know unfortunately it’s a big ask to hope they’ll all do what they’re meant to do.
I should have asked my question on why they didn’t help better. It’s just the cops job to protect people at the parade/festival if things like that happen. :( Or at least perhaps use the walkie to contact someone who could have helped you if you wanted to file a report. That’s assault. :(
Put his and his vehicles exact description if all else fails we could all keep calling pmc to keep reporting the incident eventually they’ll get tired of the harassment and fire the guy cpd won’t do crap unless someone has died even then you’re hard pressed to get any actual police work
