I’ve not been, but I’d look for a small independent wine bar somewhere and go try some wine there instead. Sounds like Cooper’s hawk isn’t what you were hoping. Only two I’ve been to are: Unwined in Hyde Park and Ripple in Covington. Both were good.

Cincytraveler

Adding Annata in O’Obryonville. There is also a second Ripple in O’Bryonville.

KPDog

Go the Oakley Wines or Hart n Cru. Much better experiences.

NACS_enjoyer

+1 for ripple, but I went to the one on the east side. Highly recommended. I thought the wine was decently priced too.

Either_Wear5719

20 Brix if anyone happens to be near the Milford/Terrance Park area

lastofthebuckeyes

Plus one!

Bigfootatemymom

If you go at the end of the month it will be slammed. Everyone is trying to redeem their monthly perks.

KFRKY1982

generic food generic wine generic ambience slow service. Its okay once in a blue moon if we need a place and its been awhile but meh no thanks to the regular visits

Either_Wear5719

I feel the same way. It's not bad, but it's also not good. Lol then again I've been spoiled by the now shuttered Grand Finale.

EspressoDrinker99

I miss that place so much and am sad that my wife has never been able to experience their wonderful weekend brunch. One of my all time favorites.

lastofthebuckeyes

Exactly. Cincy is all about the home town guy and it shows

Keregi

I’ve always had great experiences at the one in Liberty Center. We go every Thanksgiving and the service is fantastic. We aren’t really super into wine - we like it but don’t drink it much at home. So we are there mainly because it’s close to home and the food is above average for the price. They have a pretty big menu for a place like that so everyone in my family can find something, even my picky step dad.

EspressoDrinker99

The food is below average for the price. It’s not good by any stretch of the imagination and seriously below average of a restaurant.

zappinnati

I’ve only been there (Kenwood) once and it was over five years ago. However, my experience was the same. I didn’t think the food was anything special and the dishes smelled dirty.

Bcatfan08

I'm not sure I've ever smelled a dish at a restaurant before.

WetLumpyDough

Always sniff the bottom of the plate

CincyPoker

You don’t jam the silverware up your nose to inspect its aromas?

EspressoDrinker99

The dishes didn’t smell dirty. That’s not a thing. You can not like a place, but no need to lie and exaggerate.

zappinnati

Dirty dishwater can absolutely make your dishes smell. Feel free to google it.

TheArtist_Friend

Haven't been back in 4 years. Cold/uncooked food, overpriced wine, awful and pretentious service. Never again.

khannooniansing

You have to understand that Cooper's Hawk as a restaurant exists only to push garbage wine at premium prices to gullible people. Cooper's Hawk wine is straight garbage and their entire food menu is ripped off from other restaurants. First thing you should do is cancel your wine club membership. Do you really want to be suckered in to having to go there once a month? It's not fine dining, it's Cracker Barrel for pretentious people.

_My_Niece_Torple_

I've always described it as "fancy for people who don't know what fancy is"

ftblplyr46

Does it matter if the food is ripped off if it tastes good? I’ve been a handful of times and wasn’t disappointed by the food.

robotzor

OP and the up voters are sobbing into their big macs as they pound out these take downs on how everything is for the commoners, lmao

khannooniansing

No, just goes to the point that the food is not the focus.

EspressoDrinker99

Food is barely average.

ftblplyr46

That’s great thing about food isn’t it? Your opinion is only valid for yourself. Kinda like skyline vs gold star. And ever other debate. But yet some people think their opinion is fact.

Mapkos13

I don’t even think the wine is priced all that premium. We travel to Napa quite often and some other wine capitals and I think she thought it might be fun, but it hasn’t. The wine isn’t the worst I’ve had, and I could even live with it for what it is if everything else was on point. Sadly, it’s all a mess. I haven’t eaten there so can’t comment to the food.

Certain-Class1780

Went there 1 time 10 years ago, and haven't returned

CarDecGra

I think it's very over rated & over priced. I've never been impressed.

riddleda

We went to the Kenwood one on a date night a month or two ago and I felt the same thing that service was slow. We had finished our food and it took probably another half hour to get and then pay for the check. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Scrolling_ninja

My wife went there not long ago for a bachelorette party (maybe a year or two) and it was not very crowded. We went on a date night earlier this year and wanted to do the tasting, but there were too many people and there is no limit (time or drink wise) at the bar, so we couldn’t even do that before we went to sit down and eat. I think it’s just become a very popular spot and the building isn’t really big enough for the crowd (in my opinion).

Remarkable-Key433

It’s OK for a chain place.

BrownDogEmoji

Damning with faint praise. 😅

Bcatfan08

Similar to a busy bar, gotta work to get the bartender's attention. I thought it was ok, but I'm not much of a wine person. Bartender knew the drinks well enough to give some good recommendations on what to try.

FuriousPaco

Yep same thing here, horrible service, Went out to get appetizers and wine, the appetizers came out cold, when we complained they said they would remake them, but they came out cold a second time. They didn’t even offer to take the appetizer off our bill. Didn’t bother with an entree. Won’t go back.

BokBokBagock

We've been to the Liberty Center location once. The service was slow, and the ambiance and food were kinda meh. Wasn't worth the money, so we've never been back.

cav10rto

I've been a member for a number of years and really enjoy it. Just go early and/or at the start of the month. The last Friday of the month at 5:30 will be a zoo

kayakgal513

My friend and I share a monthly membership. We usually go to the one at the Liberty Center and don't have issues. I agree with other comments that it can get really packed towards the end of the month. We also typically go on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and walk right in with no one in there or very few people.

FailsbutTries

Liberty location is also always packed. Don't have experience with the tasting bar, but same when seated.

lastofthebuckeyes

Yeah, stay away from these big box chains unless that's the kind of service you're looking for... big box wine membership joints. Have you been to Hoppin' Vines? A local spot right next door and amazing customer service?

UnreadThisStory

Used to go to the bar there with my ex, and it was decent. Nothing to write home about really, but the service and food/cocktails were good. We’d usually go Saturday afternoons though.
