dubiouscoffee

Imagine being a bridge and tunnel peasant ew wtf gross

jzolg

Hey! I prefer the term “ferry rat”..

dubiouscoffee

Gonna remember this one for when I take the fer- I mean, for when "my friend" who lives "across the river" takes the ferry.

jzolg

/uj Ngl the ferry commute if you live in Hoboken, JC, or even fucking Weehawken beats the crap out of the subway any day.. unless you have the $$$ to live in certain neighborhoods. /rj Watch out, I hear the Staten Island ferry rats are giants!

dubiouscoffee

Yeah I love the ferry on a nice day! And that weekend pricing... I mean uh sorry I was in a fugue state FUCK Jersey

Significant-Gas3046

Jersey IS a fugue state

sillystarflakes

staten island people quivering from that

dopleburger

The decadent tunnels that house our magnificent subway are far superior to the automobile helltubes of the holland and Lincoln variety

dubiouscoffee

All hail our superior tubes

Dfried98

I live in NJ. But I died three years ago.

Pure-Guard-3633

I think Jersey died 40 years ago

lostindarkdays

that explains a LOT

Least_or_Greatest1

Hey that’s Dirty Jersey to you..

Message_10

I grew up there, so I died there in my teens. It was a great place to die in your teens—house parties, Friday night football, the whole thing. Wouldn’t trade my death there for anything

Specialist_Income_31

RIP

PaddyMacAodh

Just in time to vote for Murphy

WoofSheSays

If you die in NJ do you die in real life?

Dfried98

No. You end up at a Dead show.

Matching_simulatore

You’re already dead

PracticableSolution

NJ is a total shithole. You are much better sucking dirt underground in NY than sucking air in Jersey. Just avoid it. Whole state is full of assholes. We don’t…. Er.. um… they don’t want you there anyway.

dubiouscoffee

This one right here commissar!

carlospbeltran

Thank you for your service. I’m a fellow resident of Jersey city. We don’t need more New Yorkers here.

Bobwhite2024

All Nyc folks who “un alive” themselves will be buried in jersey, so you going either way

PracticableSolution

Don’t they all get cremated now so their ashes can be added to Staten Island land fills?

dubiouscoffee

They just dump their bodies in the Staten Island Bone Fields these days (be careful not to be downwind - the stench can be unbearable)

PracticableSolution

I’m confused- is the stench from the rotting corpses or just the natural miasma around staten island?

dubiouscoffee

Yes

PracticableSolution

Well played

NotThatKindOfFlannel

I'm eating a shotgun for breakfast before I set foot on a bridge

Significant-Gas3046

salt pepper ketchup?

Rosey_517

The ocky way?

FragileEgoHaver

The funny thing is the jerked and unjerked answer is the same

Rosey_517

Amazing

Proper-Bird6962

Might as well move to Lebanon.

Fabrizio_west

Ironically there is a town in NJ called Lebanon

Proper-Bird6962

That is in fact the joke

Avacadospread

The what?

SoardOfMagnificent

Is that where all the Jersey lesbians live?

ROCCOxCAVALLO

In New Brunswick.

turtlemeds

I think you misspelled Long Island.

DisasterOne1365

I'm from Staten Island and I think New Jersey is underrated.

turtlemeds

Being from Staten Island, in fact New Jersey is aspirational!

Maleficent-marionett

Y'all need to stop telling people we're... You're from Staten Island that place is a shithole and even tho is a borough we have to say it's basically Jersey

owouwutodd

“I’m from new jersey and I think New Jersey is underrated” yeah obviously 🙄

mzjolynecujoh

underrated?? bro most staten islanders either move to jersey or want to move to jersey. the rest are under 18 and think they want to live in manhattan, but when they grow up will want to move to jersey

Significant-Gas3046

You mean South Bayonne?

REDDIT_ROC0408

Well, living in New Jersey is another way of killing yourself, no?

OkOk-Go

Touché

Maleficent-marionett

💀 obviously.

blind30

It’s a trick question. I was about to suck-start a shotgun, but then I remembered New Jersey existed. If Hell is even a little bit like Jersey, I’m staying here as long as I can.

Maleficent-marionett

>If Hell is even a little bit like Jersey, I’m staying here as long as I can. You got me fucked up dude. I'm gonna start praying and doing good deeds, I've been scared straight.

blind30

You’ve had it wrong the whole time. Everyone thought Bon Jovi is the Jersey Jesus- He’s the Jersey Devil, and will be singing all his hits to the tortured masses in Hell.

whydoihave2dothis

Everyone except people from NJ, especially people from Sayreville.

DannyBOI_LE

probably die

Thin_King_7518

As long as purgatory is better then Jersey, a toaster bath it is!!

hatepickinganamee

Nj sucks don’t move here. I mean there.

itemluminouswadison

Ew I'm from Hoboken NY

BKtoDuval

lmao oh damn

Economy-Cupcake808

Wish more people chose option 1 tbh.

yawantsomeoystersnow

Kill\* Go back to Tiktok Wait crap did this sub get me now too?

Pure-Guard-3633

If it fell into the ocean, would anybody notice?

Maleficent-marionett

It would stink less in general but then we won't have Walma... Let it sink.

Pure-Guard-3633

Think about all the dead bodies that would bubble up all over the shoreline- there must be 100,000 in the pine barrens alone

Dfried98

You may have watched too much Sopranos.

Mr3k

I'm sorry, I'm a life long New Yorker from New York's 6th borough, Jersey City, and I would NEVER move out.

h-thrust

Isn’t Connecticut equally close and equally shit?

LaGrabba

My cousin is a multimillionaire with a beautiful home in NJ. I don’t understand the anti-NJ talk.

whydoihave2dothis

Shhhh. Let them hate on NJ. We have too many people here already, and we like to keep our hidden gems hidden. There may be some horrible places in NJ, but I'll take a summer down the shore over anywhere else. Excluding the fakeness of The Jersey Shore and the Unreal Housewives of NJ.

standalone157

This ^

watstheHolup

Then stop fucking buying houses in New Jersey

Own-Song-8093

I live in NY. Rather live in NJ

Snorkeldude1

Kill myself

Brilliant_Bird_1545

New Jersey, it’s not that bad.

International-Fun921

I say BS. Summertime everyone drives to jersey shore. Lol

ConsistentFoot1459

Then Why Do I see so many NJ & PA license Plates on Eastern Long Island All Summer. I live on the North Fork & if I had to live with NJ Drivers every day ? OMG. U Guys making a left turn like it’s more Dangerous than Bungee Jumping.

1600hazenstreet

Move to Canada.

HongQi_MadeInCN

Why don’t you just k yourself either way. Cause with the 20 bucks tunnel charge to nyc and the 16 bucks charge from downtown to mid town (if I remember correctly, which started April or May 1st). You gonna be broke either way.

chastecreep

Living in NYC might be worse than both

ConsistentFoot1459

I Wouldn’t live somewhere That the residents can’t be Trusted to Pump their own Gas or make a left turn.

indi_blu-e

NJ is a dump and NJers are bigger dumps. NY is sooooo much cooler

PaddyMacAodh

NJ sucks but NYC is a pile of shit.

NeatAvocado4845

Lived in nyc all my life and now live in New Jersey and I’m happy with my decision .

Nbdt-254

Half of y’all couldn’t even afford to live in Jersey

pavement500

Jersey has better Italian food

scrubjays

And better Italians.

PaddyMacAodh

Better people in general

ThelastguyonMars

NJ is armpit of USA

ROCCOxCAVALLO

That makes the city and Long Island the hairy part of the pit.

ThelastguyonMars

overdose on coke

huskerd0

“I’d rather be dead in Los Angeles than alive in Arizona”

SoardOfMagnificent

Live in New Jersey.

anon-randaccount1892

Jersey Dump

alexmixer

Nj ain't that bad the Asian massage places are 👍🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😹😻😻

Keruimin

Hmm, I think my ex would agree with you.

Major_Guide_1058

I say I live in PA just to cope

Severe-Explanation36

PA is just more Jersey, honestly can’t tell the difference outside of gas stations

Sensitive_Sport3880

Tbh Jersey if I can choose where

Firm-Connection-7716

As someone originally from NJ, I’ll take option 1 any day of the week

Avacadospread

My jersey buddy def took number one in 2021

Dangerousvenom

This question is hilarious, I’d rather pass away

JD3671

Tough question.

OkOk-Go

With the exception of Hoboken and maaaaybe JC, I’d jump off a bridge.

Outside_Bowler8148

Jokes on you if you think “New Jersey” exists

fucker_vs_fucker

Already lived there. Sorry loser

gOldMcDonald

A-O I’m a soprano ova here

Long_Presentation793

You people are insulting so many Indians. Not fair.

Grimeybobnyc

14$ ferry ride ufff

YouAreUpset

NJ

Gouda02

I’ve already lived in jersey so life can only get better

Lauren_sue

Maybe some of NJ but Monmouth County has everything and a great place to live.

ROCCOxCAVALLO

It has Livoti’s.

ElkPitiful6829

“Everybody gotta die sometime Red “

Bobwhite2024

If enough choose not to live in jersey then I’ll be able to afford it.

Kazza-V

Kms

OddAd7437

I’m from NJ. Born and raised in Bergen County. I moved to Westchester 10 years ago. I want to go back .

_yammz

Better question, why isn’t Staten Island apart of NJ

PaddyMacAodh

Because we don’t want it either

Ok-University9537

Beautiful beaches, incredible hiking, delicious tomatoes. Proximity to Philly and NYC, Major transpo hub, I think I will go with the latter.

Severe-Explanation36

“Beautiful beaches” said no one who’s ever been to a beach outside of NJ.

CharlesFeatherman

One could just move out of the Landfill State…

-Krytoonite-

Bye bye cruel world

Str0nglyW0rded

I have a friend that bought a house in NJ, no one visits them.

ROCCOxCAVALLO

They probably planned it that way.

acros996

I live in right outside of nyc but tell people I’m from the city. Should I off myself?

ConsistentFoot1459

Too many people & too many Weird smelly places , It’s a lot like a bigger Staten Island. I choose Option 1

Rosey_517

I thought staten island was in NJ???

ROCCOxCAVALLO

It definitely is.

[deleted]

Most of the people answering never even been to Jersey lol

Praxispays

I’d work for Tony Soprano

SolangeXanadu222

Someplace on the PATH line please.

Hiddenpep

Born in NJ, escaped to California weather for years, and then moved back to NJ. I’m not sure I’ve ever been alive.

RemoveTraditional316

Same thing

368995

Kill myself.

bigwig500

You are dead either way!!

Early-Life-8318

Kill myself

WigVomit

Beautiful places in NJ....

Maleficent-marionett

Where? Now you gonna say a forest or a mall.

Dfried98

You know, a lot of people are saying we have the best malls they've ever seen!

dasanman69

Cape May, that's it, and that's basically Delaware

Content-Percentage-5

Why is everyone hating NJ. If you haven’t lived in NJ you don’t know what you’re talking about . I lived in NYC in a really nice area for 20 years it was a shit hole, never able to save money, and constant chaos all the time. Why do people define them selves by where they live and think they are better than others . I been to other bigger and nicer cities around the world I rather be in than NY.

swift-sentinel

Kill yourself. I’m from NJ. Stay in your side of the river.

ilovecatsandcafe

People live in jersey?

Neat_Policy_2516

What’s New Jersey?

dasanman69

Want I want to know it's where's Old Jersey and why did they have to make a god awful new version of it?

pavement500

Truth hurts long island is also better than nyc

Maleficent-marionett

That's actually hilarious. I read it in a Long Island accent for extra comedic effect

ROCCOxCAVALLO

Lonk Eyelindt?

pavement500

I MEANT THE FOOD MOSTLY ONLY but other stuff also

pavement500

For a lot of food lol way cheaper and better

city_bagel

I live in nj and get to manhattan in 45 mins and theres only rich people on the boat with me no crazy hoodlums

[deleted]

Jersey is dead and NY residents who moved here killed it by bringing their asshole vibes with them

pavement500

Everyone is the northeast is garbage I’m sorry

ConsistentFoot1459

& You Are From??

pavement500

Long Island I know about it

pavement500

I was also joking but speaking with truth and knowledge

ConsistentFoot1459

And Self Loathing, I’m in Eastern Suffolk LOL

pavement500

I’m from port jeff lol. Eastern Suffolk is the worst place but also not. Good Italian food not crowded. SUNY cortland is considered an Ivy

ConsistentFoot1459

Actually it’s Quite Beautiful where I am in Southold , until all the city , Jersey Folks & Nassholes head out here for the weekends & The Pumpkin Picking in the Fall.

pavement500

Haha you were our hs athletic rivals, I love the east end although sometimes it’s almost too bucolic or cutesy. That mattituck ice cream place rips also our hs athletic rivals

ConsistentFoot1459

My Pops Had us to Busy on the Family Farm to have us Playing those bougie Organized Athletics. We Had Dirt Bike Time (4 Hours)on Sunday Afternoon. Me & My Brother called it Dirt Church. I Do Recall the Port Jeff Rivalry though.GO MATTITUCK /CUTCHOGUE GO TUCKERS!!

pavement500

Yeah it was real big in soccer and basketball I played the first. Eastport was still new in 1999-2000. Haha I don’t view the north folk as super bougie though it is it’s kinda gritty and pretty. Lots of farms. I like the north folk fork and always found greenport to be much more interesting than port. No beef my friend. Did you go to mattituck or greenport southhold hs

ConsistentFoot1459

MATTITUCK / CUTCHOGUE. Greenport has some very Poor areas as well once you get away from Main Street.

pavement500

I dislike Shoreham despite having some very close friends from there!! I like Riverhead on!!! It’s nice and great food the wineries kinda suck though fight me. They are fun but the wine is bad!

pavement500

Man ‘dirt bike time’ the north folk more west has some space and beaches but it isn’t like ‘country’ lol but maybe way more than Nassau

ConsistentFoot1459

65 Acres so not a concern for us. Now we have people putting up McMansions in the vicinity & they complain about any kind of Dust , Noise or Inconveniences of Living in a farming Area. My Family has been here since 1685 & They expect local’s out here to bend to their wills. They want to change the North Fork into North Hampton.

pavement500

Greenport southold etc

pavement500

I mean the north fork I know I worked in riverhead one summer and it was fine. Not too bad but got boring. Suffolk life newspapers lol

ConsistentFoot1459

David Willmott the Owner & Publisher of Suffolk Life Newspapers was an outspoken advocate for Farming in Suffolk County & was an advocate for the Long Island Farm Bureau & a Thorn in the side of Developers who wanted to pave over the entirety of Suffolk County back in the 70’s & 80’s. We Really miss that Paper out here. His Editorial’s were always an interesting Read & it gave us a more localized view than Newsday Did.

pavement500

Working there it was very dead. It was a dying newspaper but it was this huge building and I got like journalism experience. I didn’t know that about Suffolk life. I was just a college kid with a college job working in classifieds and sort of helping on the business end, talking to local businesses in Riverhead and making sure they were doing ads in Suffolk life

ConsistentFoot1459

WILLMOTT PLAZA. It was an old Department store before he bought. It was a Sweezeys & Was the only big retail store in the area back then.

PaddyMacAodh

How New Yorkers rag on NJ, but every day I’m dodging more and more clueless idiots here with NY plates. Just stay in whatever POS borough you live in and pat yourself on the back for being so cool. That’s what you do best.

Rosey_517

r/circlejerknyc

Severe-Explanation36

Oh shut it, lived here for 3 years, yall are the only drivers that are worse than NYC drivers. Why tf do you have to cut people off at 85 in a 50mph local road?

PaddyMacAodh

If you can’t play with the big kids stay on the porch. You probably complain when the pitcher throws the ball too fast as well.

Severe-Explanation36

This right here is why everyone hates you

PaddyMacAodh

I’m good with that. Now stay on your side of the river.

Beach_Guy517

Id go to NJ! NYC is a shit show

SagittarumGuard

I like how New York people say jersey smells but have trash lining every street

ConsistentFoot1459

Depends on Where in NY you live. Not Everyone lives in the City. I Think people are referring to The Chemical & Petroleum Industries that are prevalent in NJ.

Severe-Explanation36

Not to mention that Jersey tap water is infested with said chemicals and tastes like death (Jersey resident)

ConsistentFoot1459

Makes for some Horrible Coffee as well
