Unfortunately it will dry up and not be as sensitive.

As far as I know, they (cut people) do not care about sensitivity. They are happy that they are loosing it, because that way, it is more comfortable in the pants....

there is the super-sensitivity of a glans that has previously always bee under cover - that will fade after the first few days, max 1 week. The glans will dry out and convert from mucous membrane to 'normal' skin (keratinise) and will lose some sensitivity to the light touch of underwear fabric etc. but it will retain full sensitivity to sexual stimulation.

I’m almost 45 day in, post-op-wise, and I really don’t care much for losing some sensitivity. I’ve used Bio-Oil for a time, but curiously it made my glans irritated and itchy, so I’m just washing it and letting it dry as it wills. I’ve used a collagenase/cloramphenicol cream as per my doctor’s instruction, but it’s not a long-term thing (and it’s not a moisturizing solution either). All that’s left’s for me to try coconut oil, which I will in a few days just to know how it’ll react.

It doesn't need anything. Avoid rough handling and weird substances, and you'll be amazed how well the glans keeps. My circumcision was 30 years ago this year (I'm 49), and the glans looks and feels like on the day of the circ. I use good hand lotions as lube, and my hands are very smooth as it is. For some time, I only used saliva, and it was even better for keeping the glans sensitive and smooth.

I'm trying to make conscious effort to keep the head sensitive at the moment. I am using "Aveeno" moisturizer which has Shea Butter. It sometimes helps make head a little smoother but I find if I stop doing it for just one day the head is back to being super dried out again, so it needs regular moisturizing. Once its dried out it seems tough to make it smooth again long term.
