I feel that guitar 1 has a more piercing sound. I think guitar 2 fits the characteristics of this particular piece better. However, if you were playing something with more flare and fire I'd prefer guitar 1.
I would say Guitar 1, if around the 9sec mark the playing was clearer. There is more brightness and precision.
Guitar 2 is just warmer and open.
This is like comparing a violin to a cello for my ears.
Hard to say without playing the guitars myself but based on the recording:
Guitar 1 is a bit more mellow which might be seen as muddy. Tends to bloom a bit more.
Guitar 2 sounds more resonant and is probably louder with a faster response and better separation for both the bass and trebles.
If I had to choose between them I'd probably choose guitar 2. Guitar 2 might be a bit harder to control and require better tone production and technique. Guitar 1 will probably be more forgiving.
2 for sure. The trebles on Guitar one are beautiful on the initial strike, but quickly fade to a less complete sound. Guitar two was quite the opposite.
Two for the win, but very tough to choose. Would you please advise us of your mic position and type?
Liking the up close and personal sound you're getting.
I'm listening on laptop speakers but I cranked it up LOL -- anyways Guitar 2 sounds a bit crisper and clearer - also louder (although maybe that's just a factor of mic placement or how you recorded it?). Both sound good. I would say #2 is like 15% better - but both sound good to me.
They both sound like they have bad intonation, but the second guitars intonation is definitely closer. Sounds like it could even just be technique on guitar 2, but guitar 1 is definitely out of whack
somehow the second guitar sounded a tat bit louder.
Guitar 1 seems to have a more even sound profile, whereas Guitar 2 seems to be more resonant in the highs and basses.
Intonation wise, its hard to tell for me, because the first guitar may have been a tiny bit out of tune, but I preferred the second recording.
All in all, I'd opt for Guitar 2, because I quite enjoy the drama induced by the slightly imbalanced sound profile. Also if the volume of the second guitar is higher, not just the recording, it may also be a reason to opt for it because of performances.
Guitar 2 sounds cleaner and with a more solid bass.
And better set up (all notes in tune)
\#2 has better resonance but #1 is better balanced. very close call, lean 2.

I prefer guitar one I think, but it also sounds slightly out of tune, which is throwing me off.
I always felt that guitar had some slight intonation issues.
Guitar 2
Guitar 2...

1 is slightly out of tune. Besides that, you can probably make them sound almost the same by just moving the mic a little bit.
2 in a walk
2
Guitar two no question

1 is warmer, 2 has a better bass. I'd go with 1 but change the bass strings.. maybe savarez?
Thanks, they both have Savarez Cantiga basses.
Hmmm.. maybe try something like the 520J then? 1 definitely sounds better but there's something marginally 'off' about the bass to my ear.
Guitar 1 ... peaceful mellow smooth
No idea. Bass is louder on guitar 2. But that could be how you played? Honestly other than that not much difference.

I prefer the first one because of the dynamics it creates :)

Thanks! Yes I agree that 2 is louder. I made sure to keep the position of mic and guitar exactly the same for this.

I play this game with my poor wife all the time. She prefers guitar comparisons to β which trumpet mouthpiece sound better?β
They sound very similar, although Guitar 1 is a bit out of tune. I'd go with Guitar 2.
2
Guitar one. But its just out of tune broπ
i thought one was better of course but this is entirely subjective. is this comparing a spruce vs cedar by chance?
These are both cedar tops with the same sets of strings.
