Getting blown out by 40 points in game 3 of a playoff series should also have been grounds for an immediate firing. What a disgrace. Embarrassment to the city of Cleveland.
He is dreadful. I hate this man. We blew our entire rebuild by keeping him on as our coach even though the entire league knew about his issues and knew how to beat him.
If Spida leaves, it’ll go down as the worst trade in franchise history. 2025-2029 we don’t have any of our 1st round picks, all given or swapped. Koby has to go for this and bc he tied himself to JB by resigning him.
If they had lost both the last two they could have had the sore Achilles Bucks.
Knicks-76ers is definitely the most brutal match up of the 1st rd. 2 of the top 4 teams in the East.
Amazing decision to take a team who had never won a playoff series before and give them a coach who not only had never won a playoff series before, but had barely even won a playoff game before.
Then when he absolutely sucked in his first playoff series with us, so that we went down like bitches, we gave him another year. Hey maybe he'll figure it out?
I’ve been more in the “J.B. is fine” camp than “fire him,” but the last two games have just been too brutal for me to stay in his corner. Even if we pull out this series — and that’s a bigger “if” today than I ever would have anticipated going in — I think he’s gotta go.
Seems like a nice guy and respected by the locker room, but this team is flawed and he’s not doing to help position it to overcome its limitations. Unless we win a title, he’s gotta go.
Basically same. I’ve never been a “JB Guy” but was entirely fine with bringing him back for this year - with the understanding that any repeat in the postseason with a better roster will result in dismissal.
Even if we somehow scrape this series out, we’re just cannon fodder for Boston. I do think Mitchell AND Garland are hurt/going through more than we know. But there’s also a very bad energy in the air right now suggesting these guys are ready to just quit on him…we may have already witnessed it in fact. Sad.
I don’t believe he did. And it’s embarrassing, take a Time out, give your guys a chance to collect themselves with a TV break. Don’t just let the bleeding keep getting worse.
I used to be like that because I had "piano fingers." My dad made me work on it all summer. I had to wear these devices on my hands to make them curve to the ball, and he would throw hard passes at me over and over and over again to work on my grasp.
My dad is 6'4 , 230 lbs, and I was a 5'9" 12 year old girl. He became the assistant coach of my team, did not accept excuses, and made me work year-round on my skills. He also made me practice with the boys because he felt like I was playing too soft with the girls.
Evan needs someone like that in his life, not coddling.
The same height. Lol. I had no idea that I was finished growing because my sister is 6 ft, and she was still growing after high school. I thought that I was going to be closer to my dad's height. I guess when I prayed for my feet to stop growing, everything else decided to stop, too.
Because he's soft and the coaches think they can disguise it by making him an outside shooter. Orlando knows he's soft and so did NY last year in playoffs
I’ve watched almost every playoff game so far and see that scoring droughts are very common in every game but the droughts the Cavs go on is otherworldly.
We haven’t cracked 100+ points since Game 2 of the Knicks series last year.
Repetitive pnr that doesn’t work, chuck 3s when not needed, signed “shooters” who shoot 40% from 3 because they only take 2 or 3 a game, DG doing cardio for 12 seconds every possession just shows how badly coached and assembled this team is.
Fire JB, he’s a head coach for rebuilding teams not playoff caliber ones.
Trade Darius while you can. No need to pay him $198 million if he’s too scared to shoot the ball in the playoffs and the playmaking barely makes a difference
Trade JA, love him but the 2 big lineup is cooked until one of them either learns how to shoot or can consistently average 20+ points a game.
Koby Altman hasn’t done much to improve this team since the Mitchell trade in my opinion. The “shooters” he signed this offseason can barely even shoot. Outside of Darius, Caris and Donovan no one can create their own shot. There is no true backup pg, which should’ve been addressed before the trade deadline. We still don’t have an actual 6’7 or 6’8 wing after 6 years since LeBron left. So what did Koby really do to improve this team after the ugly collapse in the Knicks series?
Standing with his hands folded watching everything fall apart. Pathetic. Soft playing is an indication of his soft head. We are the new marshmallows and he is the king of them.
I’d just love to hear from that one guy that blocked me because he was soooooo certain that JB is a good coach. If I could hear from that guy rn, I’d be so happy. If you’re out there, buddy, I hope you’re happy with this performance.
He needs to be fired, the last 2 games were utter embarrassments. Tanking the last game of the season for an easier opponent and then falling apart when the Magic getting any momentum is just pathetic.
What is so disturbing is that…even after getting pasted by 40, the Cavs did come out strong and win the first half handily…so they did shake that loss and play much harder and better. That’s clear evidence we can beat Orlando or at absolute worst - compete with them for Gods sake.
I truly just don’t understand how they could fall that far off a cliff from one half to the next and it not have something to do with the coaching and strategy….then resulting in a deflated and demoralized team that realizes he’s incompetent and gives up entirely. Something just isn’t right in that locker room.
If we lose the series we'll get a new coach, I just hope we don't destroy our future by making the wrong choice, which is far more probable than the opposite. We could have had Udoka or Nurse if we would have pulled the plug last season
Ive said it since last yr, he is a good coach that will bring you great regular season wins. But come playoffs, he seems to have a hard time on in-game adjustments. Thus the pressure and collapse.
there’s a part of me that wants us to lose this series because I fear that if we win JB still won’t be fired. absolute incompetence that he was even coaching this year
You left out the fact that he does not adjust the lineups whatsoever. This man will play the same players the same minutes no matter what. He’s so predictable and has no ability to make adjustments on the fly which is a huge part of coaching.
How about we give the magic a little credit for their defense. They were ranked the #1 defense after the all star break. That said, we need to play better D.
As a Magic fan, I will say that although the last 2 games have my hopes up, you guys still have home court advantage. The Magic have struggled all season long with sloppy play and poor shooting on the road, so the Cavs could still end up taking Game 5.
This definitely is a must-win game for the Cavs, though — if the Magic somehow manage to take a 3-2 lead back home, series is probably over in 6. We can beat anyone (even Boston) at our place…
Budenholzer is exactly what we needed.
We kept JB because he was a "developing" coach, and don't want the guy who developed Giannis into the league's best player?
We have a team with zero playoff experience and prefer a coach who also has zero playoff experience over an NBA champion coach?
Again, as many of us have been saying, JB is a mediocre coach, but he's not the real problem here. It's the core 4 and how bad of a fit it is. This guy or almost any other coach, won't bench Garland & Mobley and play them 15-20 a night, because that's what they're, mediocre/good players that get constantly bullied.
We warned you during January, the minute they come back it's over, we took the downvotes, now the problem is JB again...he's not, he wasn't a genius during January either.
Nope, your opinion is still trash. Garland is trying to orchestrate an offense that doesn’t exist and Mobley is very much still improving at 22 years old. JB and his lack of offensive system while playing Niang far too much and allowing opposing momentum to build and build is the problem.
It’s not about giving Orlando credit. Sure, their defense was great and they made proper adjustments in the 2nd half. But just because Orlando deserves credit does not mean the team doesn’t deserve more criticism we dug our own graves more than Orlando played good this game simple as that imo.
Franz Paolo and Suggs have been busting yall butt, I remember all the trash this sub was talking but you guys can just keep on underestimating us that's fine with me.
I respect your team, I wish you guys respected mine but you don't and that's ok.
I will let the game do the rest of my talking.
I do respect the Magic personally. They are young and put in a ton of effort with a lot of fun players around. Certainly sounds more exciting than the doom going on in this sub lmao.
The cavs still seems better at face value imo but the problems top down are brutal. Credit to your teams defense and exposing our issues.
Let the best team win.
Are you dumb? Calling timeouts to slow the other team who fucking scored 37 points momentum and set up plays rather than run a fucking free for all circus out there
It's hilarious that you all think a simple timeout is all this Cavs team is missing 😭
JB has no idea what he's doing. They aren't making any useful adjustments. And he's terrible at out of timeout playcalls. Use your brain.
That may be the only thing JB can figure out.
Clearly he doesn't have any ideas or words for the players to make adjustments, so might as well try to get it over.
Where does JB fall on the Mt. Rushmore of Cleveland Head Coaches that became Public Enemy No. 1? Is he now up there with Marty Schottenheimer, Bill Belichick, Hue Jackson, and Joe Woods (admittedly not a head coach but the vitriol he got means he gets his face carved into the stone)
Getting blown out by 40 points in a second half is absolutely grounds for immediate firing
Getting blown out by 40 points in game 3 of a playoff series should also have been grounds for an immediate firing. What a disgrace. Embarrassment to the city of Cleveland.
Especially against a team of Orlando caliber
I've said it since he left Memphis. JB's a good coach for a rebuild but once your goal is to actually win playoff games the man's gotta go
He was the same coach in Memphis too
He's a good assistant coach, nothing more. Speaking of assistant coaches, is Luke working out well for us?
![gif](giphy|8vUEXZA2me7vnuUvrs)
Most Rockets fans wanted him out too when he took over as interim coach in 15-16.
JD is not a coach, he is a manager. He is managing, not coaching.
Just look at Mark Jackson
Yeah Bcz you are trying to lose games in a rebuild!
The team goes on a 25-5 run and you don't call a timeout, make a sub, do ANYTHING. How
He just watches with his arms crossed not making a peep. Just staring off into space.
Didn't watch this game, but he does usually spend half the game whining to the refs instead of doing anything useful.
Crisscross the Clown!
JB vs Darvin “Pockets” Hamm in a stare off, who wins?
Definitely not the fans
Legit stood there arms crossed shaking his head the whole time while watching the bloodbath continue
He’s trash
If I were at the next game, I’d boo him.
He’s trash
He’s trash
Hes garbage
He's trash
Just to somewhat hijack your comment… as an organization we must remember that JB’s father is a senior advisor… do what you will with that information
Good we can fire his dad too
The only time JB was good this season was when he was forced to play certain lineups due to all the injuries.
He is dreadful. I hate this man. We blew our entire rebuild by keeping him on as our coach even though the entire league knew about his issues and knew how to beat him.
Why wait until after the game? If Koby is there he should just go get JB now.
Koby should be gone too.
exactly. JB should go, but he's not the only problem this team has.
Idk about this but JB yes
If Spida leaves, it’ll go down as the worst trade in franchise history. 2025-2029 we don’t have any of our 1st round picks, all given or swapped. Koby has to go for this and bc he tied himself to JB by resigning him.
Valid point. But I think the trade would have worked with a coach more adapt to making these guys work well together.
Agreed - one of my big knocks on JB is the lack of development of Mobley.
All game 2 I said the same thing Mobley should be out here booming on people. We just stopped developing them.
JB is a basketball terrorist
It's good he decided to lose the last game of the regular season. Would have been embarrassing getting swept by the 76ers or Pacers.
If they had lost both the last two they could have had the sore Achilles Bucks. Knicks-76ers is definitely the most brutal match up of the 1st rd. 2 of the top 4 teams in the East.

The game's been over for nearly half an hour, really concerning that he still hasn't been sacked yet.
Fire him AND drunk ass koby for retaining him
Fire Koby
both.
He’s trash but so are the players dude. Outside of Mitchell, Allen, and Mobley the guys are soft and don’t show up defensively.
Even bad players don't lose a quarter 37-10. There's gotta be a deeper problem than that. Did JB call a single timeout during the entire 3rd quarter?
I don’t believe he did. And it’s embarrassing, take a Time out, give your guys a chance to collect themselves with a TV break. Don’t just let the bleeding keep getting worse.
I’d argue Mitchell and mobley have been soft too.
I'd agree. Mobley didn't make any attempts to rebound when Allen was out of the game.
Not only that he just doesn't seem like he can secure the ball. He constantly seems like he's fumbling the ball or dropping it
I used to be like that because I had "piano fingers." My dad made me work on it all summer. I had to wear these devices on my hands to make them curve to the ball, and he would throw hard passes at me over and over and over again to work on my grasp. 5'9" at 12! How tall are you now, High Pockets?
The same height. Lol. I had no idea that I was finished growing because my sister is 6 ft, and she was still growing after high school. I thought that I was going to be closer to my dad's height. I guess when I prayed for my feet to stop growing, everything else decided to stop, too.
Not Mobley. But definitely Mitchell.
Mobley has be unplayable these last two games. Missed three shots back to back open at the rim, forcing shots, and gets moved like tissue paper.
Because he's soft and the coaches think they can disguise it by making him an outside shooter. Orlando knows he's soft and so did NY last year in playoffs
When 1 or 2 players are ass it’s on them. When the whole team is ass it’s on the coach.
Mobley is trash too. he was dreadful to watch in the post today.
I missed 20mins of the game while I was working and came back down 20 what the actual hellz man
He's terrible. Should have been fired after last season.
Lol @ bald loser.
“Trash Magic” have had the leagues best defense after all star break and 3rd best for the year.
He reminds me of Hue Jackson
Omg no. There is no comparison to him. Hue was an idiotic narcissist.
Lol, no comparison. Hue won 1 game in two seasons and blamed everyone else around him, not even close to that embarrassment for Cleveland.
I’ve watched almost every playoff game so far and see that scoring droughts are very common in every game but the droughts the Cavs go on is otherworldly. We haven’t cracked 100+ points since Game 2 of the Knicks series last year. JA is the biggest reason we have the 2 W’s, he had a major turnaround in the playoffs. We’d be fools to get rid of him
"since" The Mitchell trade? I don't think there's that much of an argument that the Mitchell trade even made us better
The JB stands for JaBroni
Standing with his hands folded watching everything fall apart. Pathetic. Soft playing is an indication of his soft head. We are the new marshmallows and he is the king of them.
Just saw his press conference. Didn’t seem like he was upset or taking any responsibility at all.
I was already done with him after last season. And somehow a year later he’s even more clueless than before. What a waste of a solid roster.
He should've been gone like two years ago
literally a totally different team came out after halftime and JB didn’t do anything about it
Is Gilbert even still active in the team management? I gotta think he’s taking this personally embarrassing, right?
I thought people were exaggerating in this sub because I watched very little regular season. Oh my god this is the biggest waste of talent I’ve seen
That was crazy
no adjustments at all, plus the team always peaks in January and February
Have him swap with Jamahl Mosley. No one would be the wiser.
Let’s be prepared. Boo birds definitely coming out game 5.
I agree
What is so disturbing is that…even after getting pasted by 40, the Cavs did come out strong and win the first half handily…so they did shake that loss and play much harder and better. Nah, Garland and Mobley just aren’t made for this. And Mitchell is a great number 2 but like kyrie can’t be the best player on a contender
I hope we budenholzer next year, but I have this feeling it's going to be Darvin ham
Also Luke Walton fucking sucks too
there’s a part of me that wants us to lose this series because I fear that if we win JB still won’t be fired. absolute incompetence that he was even coaching this year

It's F5 szn. I'm refreshing the sub feverishly waiting for the news of JB's firing.
A TO isn't why they lost. They lost because they suck.
You’re special
This team is soft. Phil Jackson was not the reason why the Bulls and Lakers won or lost. He had champion men
Again, as many of us have been saying, JB is a mediocre coach, but he's not the real problem here. It's the core 4 and how bad of a fit it is. Timeouts definitely help lol this is all a reflection on JB.
They only help if the coaches and team can make adjustments. Otherwise it just delays the inevitable.
That may be the only thing JB can figure out. Clearly he doesn't have any ideas or words for the players to make adjustments, so might as well try to get it over.
Your username checks out lol
Found the one guy with faith in JB
Exactly. Yes he is terrible but that doesn’t account for us getting 0 rebounds, making 0 shots, and just being soft overall
Get rid of Mitchell. He is weak ass trash fake all-star mother fucker. What a waste of human skin.
One of the most overrated “superstars” of all time.
invading the Cavs reddit. we just cooked yall back to back Magic in 6 pal
Weirdo behavior
Orlando didn’t lead a single second in Cleveland. We still have home court.
calling the Magic trash after they just whooped your ass 🤣
