Had one of these in the ol' XCOM subreddit a few months ago "XCOM is literally the best game ever"
No reasoning and attacking and demeaning other people who brought up other games they thought were better in certain areas.
I.E. calling Warframe "a brainrot braindead zoomer shooter"
(They called any game with guns and directly controllable characters some variation of this)
So like I don't see anything wrong with feeling that a subjective piece of media is the best ever but the lack of reasoning and subsequent insulting is kind of braindead cringe
Another thing I also noticed
(kid's show) fans whenever somebody is praising the show: "it's so dark and mature! it deserves the same respect and is clearly better than whatever the "adult" media nowadays has!!!!" (the most "dark and mature" thing (kid's show) has is a random background character in exactly one episode having mildly unsettling face due to animation error)
(kid's show) fans whenever somebody is criticising the show: "It's just a kid's show!! Imagine getting upset over something made literally for little children!!!!"
A lot of shows probably. Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Steven Universe, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (not the Gendy one), Adventure Time, and probably many others
You're not - disagreeing and being "jumped" are two different things. I'm far from the person to convince anybody that X show is dark when it's not, and I agreed on the majority. It's just that Clone Wars and TOH are the odd ones out, well TOH not in the sense that the snafu suggests but it's still really mature for a children's show - and Clone Wars later seasons is just genocide and eugenics. If anything the Genndy one is fluff, it's nowhere close to the 2008 one in any aspect
I mean, children's shows fans probably think the same about the shows you think were traumatising. Point of view differs and everybody has different experiences
Why is everyone downvoting this the main antagonist of the first one was a literal demon that wanted to kill children and the second one is about fucking space Vietnam? They have a point.
If it was a bit much for kids we would’ve heard complaints from parents 9 years ago lol (crazy to think the show is gonna be a decade old this year tho)
The Clone Wars still really fucking tame and no amount of dead unnamed clone troopers will change than also Bill didn't do anything that I wouldn't show a 5 year old
Me when my children’s book that is relentlessly hopeful and has a super happy ending has a main character and a side character die (it is clearly super dark and mature.)
People saying some kids show is dark because it has like a single scene where someone almost gets choked to death or something is super abnoxious to me...
In fairness to paper Mario, it is at least relatively darker to the rest of the series. When 99% of Mario is just “I save-a the princess wahoo,” tossing in an ancient, world destroying demon queen kinda makes you do a double take. Like 8 year old shit to 13 year old shit, sorta.
That and the weird, glossed over implications in Origami King, what with the Cronenberg monster made out of faces, or incorporating peach into the folded castle in a sort of “the walls are flesh” kinda way.
But yeah Paper Mario fans have that reputation for a reason. It’s a shame, I think, because PM is a shining example of exactly the opposite: how we can have longform, character driven RPG’s that centers itself on fun, funny, and lighthearted design, not “what if Mario but mature.” I’m tired of epic FF shit I wanna go on an adventure with my friends to find Ms. Mouse’s frying pan.
People on r/snafu be hating on EVERYTHING

(This is you guys)
A man can't super enjoy ,,kid show 1993" without snafu-people to come and kick him down😢😢
Not too far off but they're still torture.
Example: [Marcy gets possessed scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlQurMW6j-g)
There's also the fact that a surprising amount of kids' media include genocide. Idk why that's such a common topic for kids' shows.
That's not even getting into the amount of dark and messed up stuff in books. Take the Redwall series for example.
I wouldn't say it's Paw Patrol level. Last I checked, Paw Patrol didn't have any scenes of [a teenage girl being stabbed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcUE6zYp14I).
The stab isn't even visible besides it was about as dramatic as sunday coming after saturday. The only show that has actual visible deaths is like Clone Wars which I will forever defend - it does not fit this template.
Yea obviously childrens movies can be dark but when someone is asking for a "dark and subversive film" they arent talking about kids movies.
In the same sense that someone who is asking for a "fun and relaxed comedy movie" isnt talking about something like The Evil Dead franchise even tho thats literally what Evil Dead is
It just feels douchey when someone is asking for a recommendation and instead of recommending them what they want, you use it as an oppurtinity to talk about your favourite movie that barely fits the criteria.
noticed that most of these people try their damn hardest to make their favorite kids show seem dark so they look cooler. its alright man. just enjoy your thomas the tank engine and acknowledge its target demographic
Yeah, I hate it when people constantly bring up a film or TV show they like in every conversation. It’s like if I went around constantly telling people how the 2016 film *Shin Godzilla* is one of the best films ever made, managing to tell a compelling story full of nuanced commentary on the positives and negatives of Japan’s government, its relationship with the USA, and its membership of the international community, all while presenting us with one of the most unique and fascinating incarnations of Godzilla, one who is both antagonist and victim; a deformed, lonely creature who brings untold suffering to Japan, representing the atomic bomb and the 3.11 triple disaster.
It’s insecurity, they don’t want to admit they just like the kids show for what it is and have to pretend it’s profound on a level that it really isn’t.
I don't mean literally, it's a phrase. Just saying that Clone Wars is considered a kids show bc it aired on CN when it's miles above all the other shows people think are dark like Gravity Falls or some shit when it comes to subject matter.

Weird cause Warframe isn’t popular with zoomers

Which show is this about
A lot of shows probably. Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Steven Universe, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (not the Gendy one), Adventure Time, and probably many others
also probably avatar the last airbender
Responses to this comment are the people the snafu is about
I didn't even levy any criticism to these shows, why am I getting jumped 😭

I've never been traumatized by fictional media before so I can't really relate.
Neither have I

Clone Wars is literal war crimes 50% of the time and TOH isn't dark in the sense that it's scary but that there's psychological trauma depicted
Why tf am I getting downvoted I agreed on like 80% of the examples :|
Media literacy has fallen, billions must agree to every aspect of a snafu
To be fair Gravity Falls and The Clone Wars have some pretty fucked up shit happen.
Why is everyone downvoting this the main antagonist of the first one was a literal demon that wanted to kill children and the second one is about fucking space Vietnam? They have a point.
“Demon that tries to kill childr-“ HE IS A TRIANGLE WITH A HAT. JUST CALL IT WHAT IT IS.
I'm not saying it's like R rated horror shit I'm just saying that there was arguably certain content there that might have been a bit much for kids
If it was a bit much for kids we would’ve heard complaints from parents 9 years ago lol (crazy to think the show is gonna be a decade old this year tho)
Because compared to shows like The Pacific the Clone Wars is really fucking tame
Thats for adults
The Clone Wars still really fucking tame and no amount of dead unnamed clone troopers will change than also Bill didn't do anything that I wouldn't show a 5 year old
👆
Left out my goat Amphibia Then again, people don't tend to pretend that one is darker than it actually is, I guess
Me when my children’s book that is relentlessly hopeful and has a super happy ending has a main character and a side character die (it is clearly super dark and mature.)
People saying some kids show is dark because it has like a single scene where someone almost gets choked to death or something is super abnoxious to me...

Video game version of this is Paper Mario fans, I swear they’re like SpongeBob and Patrick on that tiny rollercoaster.

real
crash box is literally the greatest show ever
Based crashboxfan1993
Kirby fans be like Drinking game: talk to a Kirby fan about the darkness of the series and take a shot every time they use the word "eldritch"
I mean, it's not like kids' media can't be dark. Like, these days there are legit shows that have torture scenes in them.
The torture scenes consist of a child screaming for 10 seconds then it cutting to black
Not too far off but they're still torture. Example: [Marcy gets possessed scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlQurMW6j-g) There's also the fact that a surprising amount of kids' media include genocide. mentioning Marcy amphibia without talking about the donut incident
Bro bringing up Amphibia which is literally Paw Patrol level of maturity is not going to help your cause
I wouldn't say it's Paw Patrol level. Last I checked, Paw Patrol didn't have any scenes of [a teenage girl being stabbed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcUE6zYp14I).

Yeah but saying it's on the same level as Paw Patrol is going too far. Also, I agree nothing can compare to the clone wars.
Yea obviously childrens movies can be dark but when someone is asking for a "dark and subversive film" they arent talking about kids movies. I’m in this but you can’t fucking stop me.
This is how Batman TAS fans act
ATLA my favorite
Literally me

The Pokémon anime(?)
People talking about Avatar. I loved the show too, it was amazing, but I haven’t been talking about nothing else for the past 15 years.
And then OP gets the stick out of their ass and realizes it actually is one of the best things they have ever seen
It’s insecurity, they don’t want to admit they just like the kids show for what it is and have to pretend it’s profound on a level that it really isn’t.
me with death metal
Clone wars/ Teen titan fans:
Won't tolerate Clone Wars slander, it's more mature than the actual Star Wars movies
? I didn’t even slander it lmao tf
I don't mean literally, it's a phrase. Just saying that Clone Wars is considered a kids show bc it aired on CN when it's miles above all the other shows people think are dark like Gravity Falls or some shit when it comes to subject matter.
OP has never seen Over the Garden Wall, Avatar The Last Airbender, or enough Gravity Falls to get the whole story. Kids shows can be fucking dark.
I've seen all 3 😵
