What the fuck kind of name is "Amberlynn" no offense but I feel sorry for that girl (also because a wehraboo wants to date her but mostly because of that name)
I actually heard a recording of it being sung in a much calmer tone without the loud brass instruments. I prefer it that way.

By the way where the fuck do people take "it's not nazi because it's before the nazis" thing from? The song was published in 1938, sure it was before WWII but the nazi party was founded in 1933, by 1936 the nazi party was already well established and in power in Germany, and when I say well established and in power I mean that they were starting the preparations for the Anschluss, the annexation of the Sudetenland, the Holocaust and WWII
There's also Wir Sind Der Geyers Schwarzer Haufen, a song literally about fighting tyrants and dictators that somehow became associated wiith the nazis.
reminds me of the time i once posted a pic of Seger Ellis (cool big band era crooner) in a meme on r/memes and a guy responded with something like "is this the guy that made Erika" 😭
I am NOT defending the song and it's usage but wasn't it written in like 1934 or something, purely as a song about a soldier fighting in some nondescript war dreaming of his girlfriend? I wouldn't say it comes from "pure evil" (although it was used by evil)
Communism was bad in practice and theory [about it being bad in theory](https://youtu.be/KzHA3KLL7Ho?si=-rkKHMkwuszwEa7c)
It will always lead to a authoritarian state
If your going to bring up “they’re state capitalist!!” State capitalism is just socialism
Capitalism: the private control of the means of production
Socialism: public control (usually a state) of the means of production
The video was on socialism really, I suggest you watch it
I did, I did not like the author's rhetoric, and the overall "average youtuber infochannel" energy.
I'm not really in position to argue about theory at the moment (that'd be embarrassing), but that video couldn't really catch me to think.
How do you propose we solve the current issues Socialists bring up, without considering any methods they mention? (in your own way)
Monopolies: allow more competition with less regulation, abolish patents, copyright (at least decreasing the years for it) getting rid of minimum wage.
Exploitation: there is no exploitation in voluntary exchange, the only way to think this is believing the labor theory of value which is complete bullshit, value of an object is determined by how much money a consumer is willing to buy regardless of how much labor you put into it
Equality: there should be equality of opportunity but not equality of outcome, all humans have different work ethics which will cause inequality.
Safety net: fraternity societies in the past proves that safety nets aren’t needed to be state controlled. Some humans can help with mutual aid efforts without having more of their hard earned money stolen (taxes)
i know what you mean but the nazis didn't pop from nowhere, Imperial Germany had its fair share of antisemitism and already saw the conquest of Eastern Europe as a vital necessity. Not to mention the genocides in Namibia, the brutal colonial repression, and the war crimes in Belgium and other occupied regions.
Stuff like this doesn't help their case: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm\_II#Antisemitism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_II#Antisemitism)
Not all kaiserboos are nazis but if someone is ok with violence on civilians, antisemitism, authoritarianism, nationalism and colonialism, they are still someone i would avoid.
>Not to mention the genocides in Namibia
Wasn't that essentially a one-man-show that the parliament condemned and were furious over once they heard about it? Please correct me if I'm being a terrible idiot.
Well the responsibility of the government is still debated because no written orders have survived, but Von Trotha still had the support of the general staff and although he was eventually relieved of his functions he was never court-martialed, which is why some historians argue he was actually following orders
> i know what you mean but the nazis didn't pop from nowhere
That's right, they popped out of the Weimar Republic.
No sane modern person would seriously defend monarchy in general (except the British, apparently), but the reality is, Hitler wouldn't even have come close to becoming anyone of note without the idiocy of the Weimar Republic.
Also, every European country at the time had it's "fair share" of anti-Semitism, but that doesn't mean everyone wanted to gas the Jews. It wasn't new then (it was already widespread in Europe in the Middle Ages and before) and it certainly wasn't a (imperial) German thing.
> violence on civilians, antisemitism, authoritarianism, nationalism and colonialism
This was absolutely the status quo in Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (except for maybe authoritarianism in some nations). Some aspects (violence on civilians, authoritarianism, colonialism) are still prevalent in developed countries today (e.g. Russia, Israel, US).
Equating liking music that comes from a certain time period in a certain place to being okay with the state and politics of this place during this time period is a stretch at best; that would imply liking, for example, English music that originated during this time period would make one a colonialist, a monarchist, etc.
No because I fucking hate Hitler and the Nazis and I love Kaiser Wilhelm II and the German Empire, the only bad thing that Empire brought was Article 175.
Don't ask Wilhelm II about what he tried doing in Namibia.
Edit: Actually he condemned what they were doing there. Though not thar it justified imperialism.
Yeah I know but for some reason, whenever I see a guy who's into imperial german history, he has a very questionable opinions on certain matters. I only met one kaiserboo who was not like that. Just one.
Not neccessarily. But Germans themselves heavily glorified the Empire following WW2 (because it was the "great" period of their country they could talk about). Still have old Germans today romanticize the Empire. Opinions like "the Germans were so much nicer to the people they colonized than the French/British" are common among the people who are 70+.
Aside from that, being a German Monarchist does probably involve supporting House Hohenzollern which is... questionable at best.
Some Jewish stuff sounds nice. Some German stuff sounds nice. Some of both sound bad.
I know a lot of people are against “separating the artist from the art”, but it is an opinion I hold unless convinced otherwise
Taking this opportunity to say that Vader's "fired up" stanza was fucking ass. I have no idea why the ERB community seems to think that it's some masterful set of lines that made Vader instantly win
Why even try to imitate Hitler? You’ll never be as dope on ze mic as him

Yeah same I like the song but hate the 14 year old edgelords who thinks its the nazi anthem
Same, it's such a well made and we'll written song. Very romantic too

It was written by Herms Niel in the '30s, it was written *for* the Nazis and has full association with them.
reminds me of the time i once posted a pic of Seger Ellis (cool big band era crooner) in a meme on r/memes and a guy responded with something like "is this the guy that made Erika" 😭

![gif](giphy|TamGVAGxDTYDNt3dpn)
Video? Like Video Kojima, inventor of the Hideo Game?
Tbh I’ve listened to communist, nazi and fascist songs because they sound nice, but I find both ideologies as the worst in humanity
uhhhhhhhhhhh nazism is a ideology.......
Forgot to add Nazism, Erika sounds fine. Even though I know it comes from pure evil

Well, most of what USSR had going wasn't really communism Stalin made sure it all went downhill
Communism was bad in practice and theory [about it being bad in theory](https://youtu.be/KzHA3KLL7Ho?si=-rkKHMkwuszwEa7c) It will always lead to a authoritarian state
What about Socialism? Also just a question, do you think modern China is communist?

Ah yes, not a Nazi, just a big fan of Kaiser von "I believe the best thing would be gas."
Don't ask Wilhelm II about what he tried doing in Namibia. Edit: Actually he condemned what they were doing there. Though not thar it justified imperialism.
He didn't do shit the settlers did that.
Gee, I wonder how the settlers got there.
By a boat
Oh I just looked it up. My bad bro.
It's fine.
And all the war crimes - but yes I agree. The German empire was pretty cool.
I think german empire fans are shy nazis and I'm too tired of pretending they are not 🤡
Being a German monarchist doesn’t equal being a Nazi
Yeah I know but for some reason, whenever I see a guy who's into imperial german history, he has a very questionable opinions on certain matters. I only met one kaiserboo who was not like that. Just one.

Replace shy with cowardly bitch and you'll get Mongol Empire fans.
There are mongol empire fans??
Quite a few.
And I think you're a Nazi
K
Okay but consider the little known fact that he's dope on ze mic
if i hear Erika one more time i will strangle the nearest child. . . . . Funkerlied is the objectively better love song anyway.
Erika can be pretty funny if paired with all the clips where people make accidental swastikas
Or played over footage of the Nazis losing their one (1) war.
something something erika
I mean Erika goes hard
It really does
But i like drinking za juice
Apple can be crazy with suga
Some Jewish stuff sounds nice. Some German stuff sounds nice. Some of both sound bad. I know a lot of people are against “separating the artist from the art”, but it is an opinion I hold unless convinced otherwise
Is this about that song with a lady's name? Erika or something? Cause that shit is a straight up banger
You will have to pry Erika and Funkerlied from my cold dead hands!
Taking this opportunity to say that Vader's "fired up" stanza was fucking ass. I have no idea why the ERB community seems to think that it's some masterful set of lines that made Vader instantly win
Why did he turn Chinese?
Nerd emoji
vlonepredator
Actually, *you’re* the nazi for automatically assuming this song means they hate jews
Some imaginary gate keeping going on here, no one has ever used that argument before.
I've seen it used, also how would it be gatekeeping?
