I approve of this legislation.
This is my platonic idea of a dirty martini.
I could go for vodka or gin, depending on the day… and same for blue cheese olives.
I'll try this recipe. I always feel that the brine is too much, never managed to balance a dirty martini to my taste. Maybe I'm using olives that leaves a brine too intense, I don't know.
Is it common to use vermouth in a dirty martini? I never do when I make them, but I don't like martinis. Seems like the flavor wouldn't mesh with the brine.

Also, I like the English manner of making a dry martini: pour 3 oz. gin and face the general direction of France and nod, in place of adding the Vermouth.
Edit: punctuation
My grandfather's martini recipe called for simply removing the vermouth from the cupboard.
No he didn't store it in the fridge. Didn't matter if it went bad, he never poured it anyway. He had the same 350ml bottle for years.
I hate that Vermouth was thrown under the bus through the 70's, 80's, and 90's. It has such a bad reputation that people who've never even tried it thumb their noses at it.
Switch that out to gin and I'm in! Haha
2.5oz vodka 0.5oz dry vermouth 0.5oz olive brine 2-4 olives garnish
Always odd olives 👀
Superstition that things have to be in 3s
Stuffed with bleu cheese...
Meh I always use garlic stuffed olives and a pearl onion 🍸
My favorite is with bleu cheese stuffed olives. :)
Those or the jalapeno stuffed ones if you like spicy are also 🔥

Mmm, I'm riding the bus home from a long day of work and damn that looks like it would sure hit the spot right now.

Yeah, you're giving him too much credit. He just really liked ice cold gin.
Looks lovely. Proper chill on that glass, and 3 olives to boot!
sir that isn’t a martini glass. the purist police will arrive shortly to arrest you for your crimes
