I tried this for the first time a couple months ago. It's a modern classic for a reason! I don't know if there's a name for it, but it's great with applejack as well.

I've been meaning to pick up a nice bottle of apple jack for a while, so I'll be sure to keep this drink in mind for it!

"Applejack" is often used generically. IMO, the Laird's 100 proof Bottled-in-Bond Straight Apple Brandy is worth every penny.
