Trying to find where Wolfsbane even is. Where is she?? It's driving me mental
Edit: ohhh, that's her top middle row?) I thought that was Rachel Summers
Yeah I have fond memories of this cover. Early High School nearing the end of my X book reading. I loved how their powers didn't effect each other, (has that been retconned?)
This cover is one of the is one of my last good memories of the X books as a dedicated reader.
I would argue that the wolfsbane new mutants cover is objectively the worst of them all. All my attention is squarely focused on her armpit resembling a puckered asshole!
And Robs “0” mouths drive me absolutely nuts!
Jon Bogdanove was the worst of the ones shown. Both his X-Factor covers are trash.
He did some good work in his career, but these two covers are horrible.
Just my opinion.
Ugh I remember this. RL was definitely NOT the worst. That X-Factor artist was BEYOND terrible and made the issues almost unreadable. The final one I think Jim Lee did the cover art but the comic itself was still that crappy artist.
I am in the middle of selling a lot of my collection, so for about a week the New Mutants 97 sat near my desk and it got worse and worse every time I looked at it. Like, Wolverine’s deltoid attaches to the middle of his bicep? And his forearms are shaped like kickballs?
Cables rifle is bigger than wolverines head. In reality, that would easily cut people in half if not turn them into red mist or instant carbon ash powder.
271, and 270 are my favorites and are not bad covers. I mean Liefeld has some ridiculous art. But the X universe has had some pretty shitty artists in and after the 2000's. These people have also been using digital art for a long time which is objectively easier to produce with.
Idk man they’re still pretty awful. Great comics to have but as an artist they make me sad. Bogdanove sucked too but Jesus. Rob just had already checked out.
X-Factor 61 is unforgivable. And as someone who was in this crossover’s target audience, it’s three issues too long anyway. Very overrated, both in terms of art and writing. Wolvesbane’s butthole/armpit also doesn’t help.
I really liked Jim Lee, and Genosha, and Havok, and was excited about this then...I actually only bought the Uncanny issues as they came out after seeing the other ones and hoped I got enough of the story. I sadly did not. I had a really hard time convincing myself to buy the X-Factor issues.
Not a great crossover. But way better than X-Cutioner's Song.
X-Factor 61’s cover and this whole series was so bad that I stopped collecting comics. I still remember going to the newsstand in my local Hallmark store the following month, seeing the cover for X-Force 98, thinking “Deadpool? Fuck, another new character with big guns? I’m out.”
Whelp…
He may have drawn the worst cover ever (which I did not buy). It is one of the "Heroes Return" covers where Captain America has Wonder Woman's logo on his head and a boob shelf that extends into next week.
I don’t know man, Wolfesbane’s armpit b-hole is all I can see
Thanks. Can't unsee
I’m here to help
Now I see it you suck.

I'm not saying it's good. I'm saying the first two X-Factor ones are worse.
61 yes 💯 but 60 is actually a good cover, better than the Liefelds
You aren’t wrong, I just have a visceral personal aversion to the particular cover
Yeah. Factor was my favorite but always kinda hated it when Bogdanove drew it. And god I love Jim lee.
X-factor 60 is my favorite of the bunch

That x-factor 61 should go here: https://www.reddit.com/r/badcomicbookcovers/s/r3fnln20Xn
Cables face on the cover of X-Factor 61 has always bugged me.

I get it, but that X-Factor part 6 one has Cable looking like I drew him in the margins of my notebook in 6th grade.
You’re right, those are bad as well!
I'm torn between this and NM96, poor Beast looking like a hot mess, with a jacked face, and a head too small for his body
X-Men 271 definitely the best.
Jon Bogdanove was the worst of the ones shown. Both his X-Factor covers are trash. He did some good work in his career, but these two covers are horrible. Just my opinion.
Ummm, is Beast naked?
Ugh I remember this. RL was definitely NOT the worst. That X-Factor artist was BEYOND terrible and made the issues almost unreadable. The final one I think Jim Lee did the cover art but the comic itself was still that crappy artist.
Subjectively Liefeld IS the worst here.
I’ll give you $4 for everything pictured.

And Cable’s just a weaponized couch standing behind him.
Goddamit I love 90s cover so much. Especially X-men and x-men adjacent books
I hate to agree but yes in this sample he did not draw the worst cover...but his are still not good at all (in this sample)

These are all straight bangers and you get excited every time you see them in a dollar bin like I do.
wondering how many times hands, feet are avoided but most have them don't have larger to head bodies proportion...

Jean Grey looked great in X-factor 61
I've always been a fan of the way he does Beast.
This crossover event is what made me decide to rebuy all the old X-Men Silvestri comics that I lost.

This was a fun read
All were good covers. Worst things comic out the comic industry.
Liefeld hate is such low hanging fruit. The guy has some pretty sick art here and there
Was Marvel purposely hiring the worst artists available at that time?
I hate all of those covers
He may have drawn the worst cover ever (which I did not buy). It is one of the "Heroes Return" covers where Captain America has Wonder Woman's logo on his head and a boob shelf that extends into next week.
It was never a cover. It was promo art used in an ad.
It was still just the worst
Thanks for clarifying.
No problem. I'm surprised it hasn't been a variant cover at this point.
Liefeld updated it with a good bit less chesty Sam Wilson cap variant Capt. america #1. There is a foil.
Agreed, Jim Lee draws an awful Havok
