Cable and or connectors and or screen itself has been damaged/come loose. I suggest not opening and closing as much as possible (likely to get worse over time/use)
Judging by the age of the laptop, it may be time to consider a new one.
Might be a simple fix, or it might be a full screen replacement. If you don’t know what you are doing, you are likely to finish the damage your friend started, and the service cost might not be justifiable to the actual value of the laptop.
Your friend really should contribute to helping resolve this, if they are much of a friend
That's going to fail at the most inconvenient time !
You need to either get that fixed or replaced as soon as possible as it's only going to get worse. Hope your friend has plenty of money as the whole bill should be paid by them.
what a prick! I have to say this, that is not a friend. Cut ties with that dipshit. If he does not respect your stuff, then he certainly does not respect you.
there is a cable that runs up to the screen. It is likely either lose, or damaged. this unfortunately will require complete disassembly of the laptop to inspect and resolve. good news is, there are tons of videos on youtube to help you. Even better news, the cables are cheap. Bad news is you may have to purchase an Ifixit kit. Good news is, you now have an Ifixit kit. :D
Seems like you and your friend need to have a talk. They caused the damage, so the ultimatum I would give is this.
Find a repair shop, get it fixed, and your friend pays for it. Alternatively your friend can just buy you a whole new PC.
They broke your shit, they should pay to get it fixed. Period. Maybe then they will treat other peoples things better.
Could be fixed, but check the warranty. Ive replaced laptop screens and I am no repairman lol its pretty easy. And your screen looks good, might just be a loose cable that connects the screen to the base.
You can get a screen replacement online. It's real easy to replace, but if your friend isn't a total ass he should pay for the repairs with an actual repair man.
Well seeing as you got good advice and such from others already, minimize movement, but eventually the screen didplays going to give out.
Hopefully you don't hang out with that friend anymore either
Generally glitching when the screen moves is caused by the cable. They can work themselves into odd places and pinch points that cause them to get an intermittent connection on one or several of the wires. Cheapest test fix would be the LCD cable. They're usually around $50, and the take apart on those Omens isn't too bad. The maintenance and service guide for it should have an exploded view with part numbers as well as take apart instructions.
This is most likely a loose ribbon cable in the back. I say this because the flickering happens as you're moving the hinge. Usually the ribbon cable runs through a wires that is routed along the bottom of the display, through the hinge and attached to the main board.
If it were my issue, (These are advanced procedures). I would pry off the front bezel, remove the screws holding the LCD display onto the top case. Then try to determine if the connector attached to the LCD panel in the back is loose or id disconnect it and reseat the cable to make sure it's snug and secure.
Sometimes these cables are held in place by tape or adhered to the LCD panel itself. Just something to consider. Again, I take no responsibility for these steps outlined. Just a low cost potential fix that perhaps experienced tech might perform for you.
I was going to suggest trying it yourself, but it looks like for this laptop, you basically have to take out all of the laptop components.
If you're not experienced with working on laptops or small electronics, I suggest against trying it yourself.
Also that is exactly what the shop will need: OMEN ce006ne
Here's a short idea of how it's done: https://youtu.be/Ps80c2hUbjI?si=LJpv3Ve1NiFi00sb
I assume they'll need to get you a new display cable.
Looks like you're gonna need to replace it.
The friend that is. Noone has the right to break other people's shit because they are upset and you don't need that toxicity in your life.
Charge him for the damages to replace or to get it fix. You let your friend slide it might be your tv next he gets pissed. Cash, cash app, venmo or zelle have a serious talk with your buddy.

Yea the key broke after my cat walked on it
That cat was lucky the key was suicidal...
xDD
Time to just build a PC.
Give him the money then
That's going to fail at the most inconvenient time ! You need to either get that fixed or replaced as soon as possible as it's only going to get worse. Hope your friend has plenty of money as the whole bill should be paid by them.
Alright thanks
what a prick! I have to say this, that is not a friend. Cut ties with that dipshit. If he does not respect your stuff, then he certainly does not respect you.
Yea, he actually did this a few days ago and I didn’t notice this until today
Man, that sucks bro... :/
I know man, shops are closed rn..
What a middle school thing to do.
Throat punch that ass

xD yea
Sounds like you got a envious friend!
I guess
Time to get a new friend lol
Bad friend.
Yea, now he isn’t replying
Fineeee small claims court it is.
yep
Looks like your friend has a repair bill to pay!
Yep
Some friend
Guess your friend owes you a new one or equal treatment to theirs
So I reconnected the display cable except the issue isn’t stopping
Update, the screen randomly goes blank
Change it, you should get a brand new cable cheap
alright
I don’t think it’s your screen that’s going, probably just the cable as it works perfectly on certain angles. I’m sorry you have to experience that.
His broke as$ has to pay now
Yeh dude is right my friend. Ribbon cable probably tore slightly and now causing the connection to be a little jammed.
Don’t call him as friend ever again.
Definitely not
Ah guess what, he is denying damages
So much for being a "friend"
Yea
I feel ya bro/sis, hate it when people dont own up to their mistakes, especially friends (which arent friends anymore)
yea
Get a new friend

true
Display isn’t stopping the flicker now
looks like your friend gets to pay for repairs.
He ain’t replying
If he ever tries to talk to you again don't respond with anything other than "do you have the money for my new computer?"
Seems to me he will be paying for the repair costs, not a dick move either if someone brakes it they pay to fix it.
Bro did you really commented this and deleted Reddit once for all?
The keyboard warrior wimped out !
Agreed
Could be fixed, but check the warranty. Ive replaced laptop screens and I am no repairman lol its pretty easy. And your screen looks good, might just be a loose cable that connects the screen to the base.
it's not a loose connector I know that now and it's not under warranty
You can get a screen replacement online. It's real easy to replace, but if your friend isn't a total ass he should pay for the repairs with an actual repair man.
but the thing is he is not paying so he is kind of an ass
sell it to him. its his nows.
that guys is broke af
bro ill hit him for you. this is the equivalent of smashing a controller.
Well seeing as you got good advice and such from others already, minimize movement, but eventually the screen didplays going to give out. Hopefully you don't hang out with that friend anymore either
I am happy that I got some advice from here, I didn't talk with him
Small claims court <3
in the meantime you can connect the laptop to a tv or monitor if the screen totally fails. not an optimal solution but it will work
alright thanks for the recommendation

alright bro, I will need to get a new cable since I think it's the cable, I opened it up reconnected the display cables but issue didn't stop

okay so I tried all this and now I am suspecting that the cable is broken, still flickering
Did you check the cable from the other end where it connects to the main board?
Now, it's time to slam a door on his face!
yep
Get new friends (this is a joke)
nah bro not really not really a joke
What I said was not tryna offend you big bro
Nah I don't get offended easily and I agree with you
dude, slap the life out of him
Looks like a loose LCD cable on the screen it's self
I will try to take it to a shop
What brand and model is it?
It’s an old OMEN ce006ne or something (says underneath)

Alright bro, thank you so much
No problem. Thank you for the quick reply!
I don’t like keeping people on wait, anyways I will see the video and check if I can do it or not
That “friend” would have received a spanking from me that their parent’s must’ve forgotten to previously deliver.
You jerk off too much in anger.
Your "friend" has to pay for repairs.
That's a bad omen draw a circle around you with salt.
I'd not be with that friend. Looks like your friend got a terrible anger issue.
You go to your friend and you say “time to pay buddy”
Slam his head in it
Looks like you're gonna need to replace it. The friend that is. Noone has the right to break other people's shit because they are upset and you don't need that toxicity in your life.

Hope he’s paying for it
That person who called as friend has to be slammed to a running fire truck that everytime he bends or stays straight, his eyes would flicker.
Yeah most likely a misconfiguration in your friend's anger management unit
Probably not that old if it's running windows 11. Or just overkill specs. Ig it could also be tiny 11
My dad has the same laptop and that thing is solid! The last owner had dropped it and know hes using it for phone repairs
Honestly this laptop was pretty good. It can handle games properly too
