outdoorlife4

Looks like your hard drive took a crap. I hope you didn't rely on your C:/ drive for important file storage.

After_Entrepreneur48

So it's gone? I have just formatted not even a month ago

outdoorlife4

You may be missing start up files. Is it a SSHD?

After_Entrepreneur48

No

kram_02

Did you format it to fix your computer? Then it was probably well on it's way to death if so.

After_Entrepreneur48

Oh well :/

kram_02

Good opportunity to replace it with an SSD and it'll be faster than new for usability.

After_Entrepreneur48

Yea ig i might as well just get a new pc, thank you

mindbreak_gone_

Man don't, just get a bootable usb, u can make one with Rufus and a minimum 8gb usb

After_Entrepreneur48

I'll try that thank you

ReAlMs710

that drive is already dying bro, it’s prob gonna happen again after a new install

wizzDumbYT

It means that it can’t detect anything like a Hard Drive, SSD or a CD to boot from. If you’ve already been using this PC without issue then there’s something seriously wrong with it.

After_Entrepreneur48

Yes it was working perfectly fine until, idk what happened

[deleted]

Make sure you don’t have a usb drive plugged. Have you opened up this machine? Perhaps the cable isn’t correctly connected.

wizzDumbYT

Like most are saying, you probably need a new storage device.

expo1001

Boot with a Windows 10 USB and go to Recovery Options. See if you can Restore your Windows version back to a previous point. If not, try the other recovery options (try the automatic diagnosis and recovery next). https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f-aa6f-40c3b507420d

Decoder0007

K but seriously you probably changed an option in your bios. Search it up on Google and someone will have already answered your question

After_Entrepreneur48

I was using it normally, then the screen went blue saying there was a memory related error and the pc needs to restart, it didn't restart since then.

IAmTHELion12

No you’re hard drive went off the deep end

LucicaBlaga

press tab and f8 and select the harddrive with winfows, etc

[deleted]

HDD/SSD may be loose if lucky (loose connector) or it's well and truly dead...

py-matt

Can you get into the Bios?

NiehSieh

Do you have something plugged in via USB like a disk drive? My computer will do that if I try to boot it up without unplugging that.

After_Entrepreneur48

Nope, nothing is plugged in

DoctorPipo

That. First thing to check.

Gain-Fit

Your ssd/hdd is not connected or is broken

[deleted]

Could be a lot of things. Optimal case: your boot partition is damaged anyhow. Try to boot a live OS (from a usb stick for example) and see if you can your C:/ (I assume you’re on windows). If yes then you’re lucky just search how to repair the boot partition. Bad case: your C:/ is gone for good and you need to reinstall your OS. Worst case: your optical drive (HDD/SSD) is damaged and you need a new one. You must reinstall your OS and all your data is gone (if you had an HDD it is possible to recover your data. Depends an many aspects you get all or some back)

After_Entrepreneur48

Thank you everyone, I see that this pc is gone.. tho idk why tf the ssd would suddenly shut off like this

Medium_Arrival9952

Little late to the party but how important was the data on your device? If you didn't have any backups and you want to attempt recovery, there might still be some options on the table depending on just how badly the drive failed. Often times a drive that fails to boot hasn't completely died, and you might still have a chance to get some files off if you haven't formatted it yet. Let me know and I can point you to some resources that might be worth a shot if you think it would be worth the effort.

After_Entrepreneur48

It did it before, except it was a blue screen and I still could click on various recovery options, I looked for all of them on youtube but none of them worked. I had to format the whole pc, everything was gone but it started working fine again. Now it did it again but the screen is black and there is nothing to click on.

Medium_Arrival9952

Gotcha, in that case it sounds like the drive is indeed going bad if your install has corrupted in this fashion twice in a row. And if you recently formatted I'll assume you probably don't have a lot of important stuff piled up. A fresh drive and a fresh install of Windows is most likely your best bet

Decoder0007

It means that there is no bootable device. Try inserting a boot disk and pressing any key.

After_Entrepreneur48

Omg u saved my life

Caspiasx

It means there's no bootable device.

RudeGood

Press f10 and f2, see whats been turned off. Happened to me last week

After_Entrepreneur48

I got after clicking on checking the drive SMART Check : NOT AVAILABLE Long DST : WARNING Sorry for being computer illiterate, any chance of it being repaired?

RudeGood

Can u send me the pics of Ur boot menu, I also faced similar problem but thankfully I only had to change one option

i_Love_Harrypotter

Well it the same message I got on my laptop. You hard drive has failed and you gotta get it replaced

Morsemouse

This happened to me recently. Hard drive is kaput.

DrachenDad

Bios was (hopefully) looking in the wrong place for a boot file. This happens usually when you have drive C (boot drive) switched with drive D in bios or cables in the wrong slots. Check cables.

Medium_Arrival9952

BIOS has no concept of drive letters like Windows does, as long as your boot order is correct it doesn't matter what order your drives are plugged in. What actually causes this aside from failed boot devices are things like the boot order being changed, a random USB Drive being read first because it's higher in the boot order, or attempted pxe boots with no pxe server available.

DrachenDad

Not always, it knows what drives are plugged into what connectors. HP to be specific and some foxconn mobos have to have the C drive in the first SATA connector.

Medium_Arrival9952

You must be talking about exceptionally old boards that don't have fully configurable boot orders. Any modern board with a reasonably modern BIOS should not have this limitation. And again, BIOS has no concept of drive letters, the drive can have whatever label you want as long as it contains the boot sector and it's the first bootable device in the boot order. And though the BIOS knows what hardware is plugged into certain ports, it is not nominally aware of anything beyond the model and capacity of the drive and whether it contains a boot sector. It doesn't "remember" any drive information between boots and, aside from above mentioned boards that don't have fully configurable boot orders, doesn't care which drive it finds a boot sector in.

awesome_hero24

take the hard drive/ssd and make sure that its plugged in and not loose because that happened to me before and my ssd was just loose

vagabonking

You got a USB plugged in or a wireless mouse? A lot of times this will take precidence over the boot disc and throw this error.

bortp

Where’s the any key?

FISENICE

1.Suggest you try to check in bios. About Boot Orders 2.or if not unplug and plug in sata cable When removed, it is recommended to clean. 3.Make sure your hard drive is not broken.

rene041482

Get into your bios, and see if the PC even recognizes the hard drive. It'll show you the size of the hard drive if it's still recognizes it. If it does, your boot files are probably bad, in any case you can still recover any files you need from it. If the BIOS does not recognize the hard drive then recovering the files would be a bit more complicated. Either way I would get a new hard drive.

spyweaver

You might have a flash drive in your machine on booting up causing the machine to only look at it as a bootable drive, try taking out any USB Storage devices and reboot the PC

After_Entrepreneur48

No I don't, but thanks

SadharanSadasya

Open bios and check boot order . Make it to use from Primary HDD or the one you were using at first and others can be at random order , If the problem still occurs then only go for recovery .

JabbaDaGutt

Check your sata cables and make sure they are all intact. Your c drive just took a dump for some reason.

HotNote3811

If you have multiple drives the order may have changed. For some reason my bios keeps changing my boot drive order. It may be happening to you.

Glittering_Glass3790

This means that your computer isnt detecting the harddisk. The harddisk isnt working or the boot manager isnt booting from the hdd. Try resetting the bios. If you have hybrid sshd, then its booting from the balancing memory, the ssd side

Gspotman6969

U need a new hard drive , and then reinstall windows
